October 11, 2018 Juanita Craft was an American activist and politician. Craft was an activist during the civil rights movement where she played a crucial role integrating the State Fair of Texas among other universities, restaurants, and theaters around Dallas. She also served as a member of the Dallas City Council. Join us at the State Fair s Chevrolet Main Stage on October 11, 2018 starting at 7:30 p.m. as we recognize her contributions to civil rights in Dallas, the state of Texas, and throughout the United States during the annual State Fair of Texas. In addition to recognizing individuals who knew Mrs. Craft, this event will show historical footage of her journey, and recognize the efforts on past, present, and future civil rights leaders in our area. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Juanita Craft Home, with the goal of securing $100,000 for renovations.
