PARTICIPATION RIGHTS AND FORMAT OF COMPETITIONS AT THE ART WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OCTOBER 2018 PARTICIPATION RIGHTS: With a team of 4 gymnasts (+ one reserve) and 2 individual gymnasts Important : the composition by name of the team must be pre-announced. The deadline is to be set up. OR With 3 individual gymnasts for Federations without a team
Format CI With a team: 4 gymnasts (among those forming the team) participate on each apparatus. Then best 3 scores are considered for the team total 4/4/3 AND the 2 individual gymnasts can compete at 1 to 6 apparatus for the Men and 1 to 4 apparatus for the Women. Yet their scores are not considered for the team total. Without a team: 3 gymnasts can participate in 1 to 6 apparatus for the Men and 1 to 4 apparatus for the Women.
CIV: 3 gymnasts (among team gymnasts) perform a routine at each apparatus. All the scores count for the team total 4/3/3 CII: The top 24 gymnasts who competed at each apparatus of the CI (with or without a team) qualify with maximum 2 gymnasts per Federation. CIII: The top 8 gymnasts at each apparatus on CI (with or without a team) qualify with maximum 2 gymnasts per Federation.

ART WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OCTOBER 2019 NEW!!! Same participation rights (all FIG affiliated Federations may participate in the World Championships with a team) and same format as for the 2018 World Championships! This provides all Federations a real 2 nd opportunity to qualify a team.
2019 ART World Championships (Q) TOP 9 teams of the 2019 ART World Championships (CI) 36 gymnasts Reallocation of unused quota places: The unused quota place(s) will be allocated to the next best ranked team(s) based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships.
2019 ART World Championships (Q) 3 Apparatus Medallists from the 2019 WC (CIII) 18 MAG / 12 WAG the places are nominative maximum 3 places per NOC (3 different gymnasts) 1 gymnast can qualify on several apparatus but will obtain only one spot for the Olympic Games Reallocation of unused quota places: If the medallists are already included in teams, the unused quota places will be allocated to the next best ranked Gymnasts based only on the results of Competition III of the 2019 World Championships, until rank 8. The remaining quota places, if any, will be allocated to the next best ranked All-Around gymnasts based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships.
2019 ART World Championships (Q) Best ranked All-Around Gymnasts based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships. 12 MAG / 20 WAG the places are nominative maximum 1 place per NOC Reallocation of unused quota places: If gymnasts are already included in teams, the unused quota places will be allocated to the next best ranked Gymnasts based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships.
PARTICIPATION RIGHTS TO ALL-AROUND WORLD CUPS (CII) IN 2020 The Top 16 teams from the CI of the 2019 ART World Championships can participate in the All- Around World Cups with maximum 1 gymnast per Federation. The gymnast can be different at each World Cup event. Number of World Cups: max. 4 The final ranking list is established based on the total number of points.
ALL-AROUND WORLD CUP (Q) Best 3 ranked All-Around Gymnasts (NOC) based on the results of the 2020 FIG AA World Cup ranking list. 3 gymnasts the places are per NOC maximum 1 place per NOC Reallocation of unused quota places: The unused quota places, if any, will be allocated to the next best ranked gymnast (s) based on the 2020 FIG AA World Cup ranking list. Important: To be decided whether a gymnast who took part in the qualification of his/her team or who already got a spot by name at the CI or CIII of the World Championships may or may not obtain an additional spot for his/her NOC through the All-Around World Cups.
PARTICIPATION RIGHTS TO THE 2020 WORLD CHALLENGE CUP In principle, all Federations have the right to participate at the World Challenge Cup events, with a maximum of 2 gymnasts per apparatus but for organizational reasons, a limit of 150 participants will have to be set. Priority will be given to the Federations who have the best ranked athletes at the 2019 World Championships in CI per apparatus. The detailed participation criteria will be determined in the World Challenge Cup Rules. Number of World Cups: max. 6 The final ranking is established based on the number of points per apparatus.
WORLD CHALLENGE CUP (Q) Best ranked Gymnasts (NOC) based on the results of the 2020 FIG Challenge World Cup ranking list, max. 1 per apparatus 6 MAG / 4 WAG the places are per NOC maximum 1 place per NOC Reallocation of unused quota places: The unused quota places, if any, will be allocated to the next best ranked Gymnast (s) based on the 2020 FIG Challenge World Cup ranking list. Important: To be decided whether a gymnast who took part in the qualification of his/her team or who already got a spot by name at the CI or CIII of the World Championships may or may not obtain an additional spot for his/her NOC through the World Challenge Cup.
PARTICIPATION RIGHTS AND FORMAT OF COMPETITIONS OF THE 2020 CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS PARTICIPATION RIGHTS AND FORMAT OF COMPETITIONS SHALL BE SET UP TOGETHER WITH THE CONTINENTAL UNIONS CONCERNED. YET, IT IS COMPULSORY THAT ALL FEDERATIONS AFFILIATED TO THE UNIONS BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (Q) Best ranked All-Around Gymnasts based on the results of the CI of the Continental Championships. (UEG 2, PAGU 2, AGU 2, UAG 2, OCE 1) 9 gymnasts the places are per NOC maximum 1 place per NOC Reallocation of unused quota places: The unused quota places, if any, will be allocated to the next best ranked gymnast(s) based on the results of the CI of the 2020 Continental Championships ranking list. Important: To be decided whether a gymnast who took part in the qualification of his/her team or who already got a spot by name at the CI or CIII of the World Championships may or may not obtain an additional spot for his/her NOC through Continental Championships.
HOST COUNTRY PLACE If the presence of the Host Country is neither guaranteed after the 2019 World Championships nor after the All-Around World Cups, the Challenge Cup or the Continental Championships, the best ranked Gymnast from the Host NOC as per Individual ranking results of CI (all-around results) from the 2019 World Championships will obtain the quota place allocated by name. 1 MAG / 1 WAG Reallocation of unused quota place (s): If the host country does not use its quota place (s), the remaining quota place (s)will be allocated to the next best ranked All-Around Gymnast (s) based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships.
TRIPARTITE COMMISSION INVITATION PLACE 1 MAG and 1 WAG Tripartite Commission Invitation Place allocated 1 MAG / 1 WAG by name will be available to 1 MAG and 1 WAG individual gymnast provided he/she has met the eligibility criteria. Reallocation of unused quota places: If the Tripartite Commission does not allocate its quota place (s), the remaining quota place (s) will be allocated to the next best ranked All-Around gymnast (s) based on the results of Competition I of the 2019 World Championships.

The deadline is to be set up. OR For NOC s without a team : qualified gymnasts only (they cannot form a team)
Format - CI With a team: 4 gymnasts (team gymnasts only) participate on each apparatus. The best 3 scores are considered for the team total 4/4/3 AND 2 additional individual gymnasts : - Specialists : they may compete only at the apparatus on which the gymnast or the NOC qualified but their scores are not considered for the team total. - All-around gymnasts: they may compete at 1 to 6 apparatus for Men and 1 to 4 apparatus for Women but their scores are not considered for the team total. Important : Should a team gymnast sustain an injury before the beginning of the CI only, he/she may be replaced by 1 of the 2 individual gymnasts qualified. The injured gymnast shall in no way be authorized to participate in competitions 2, 3 or 4.
Format - CI Without a team: Individual qualified gymnast (s): - Specialists : they may compete only at the apparatus where the gymnast or the NOC qualified. - All-around gymnasts: they may compete at 1 to 6 apparatus for Men and 1 to 4 apparatus for Women.
