Harnett Central High School JROTC cordially invites your school to our annual Tri-Meet on Saturday, 6-Oct-18 at Harnett Central High School Campus in Angier, NC. The Tri-Meet will include Drill, Rifle, and Raider matches, with awards, ribbons and trophies for individuals and teams (See Enclosure 1). 2. We are proud and honored to host a safe, competitive and efficient tri-meet while allowing all cadets to compete to the best of their ability. We will conduct the meet as close as we can within the following timeline: TIME/ACTIVITY 0700-UTC Concession Stand will open (Includes breakfast Sandwiches available for purchase) 0730 Graders Briefing inside the Auditorium 0800 CDR s Briefing in the Cafeteria 0830-UTC Begin Raider PT Test on the Trojans Football Field 0900-UTC (EST) Begin Drill Events PT Test 0845 Rifle Relay 1 Main Gym 1000 (EST) Rifle Relay 2 Main Gym 1200 (EST) Rifle Relay 3 Main Gym 1530 (EST) Knock-out Drill Trojan Football Field (Lineup on the running track) 1545 (EST) Awards Ceremony Football Field We will begin the Drill competition with regulation and exhibition events simultaneously and end with a Knock-Out Drill. If we do not have enough judges, we will start with regulation events and then migrate the regulation drill pads over to exhibition drill pads mid-way through
the competition. We will publish a detailed matrix and drill pad map for all participants on the competition day. The Raider competition will begin with the PT Test, followed by four additional events. The Rifle competition will execute in three relays IAW the aforementioned timeline. 3. Coordinating Information: a. For safety and timeliness, we will limit participation to the first 20 Drill, 20 Raider (up to 3 separate Raider Teams per School NO EXCEPTION) and 15 Rifle Teams that have PAID and REGISTERED using the registration form at Enclosure 2. Emails, phone calls or other communications does not reserve a slot. Registration forms and payments will be entered in the order in which they are received at our address. b. To assure an on time start, please arrive between 0700 and 0730. c. The Raider Match will be in accordance with 4th BDE Raider MOI- 09Mar17, and will NOT be a Best of the Best qualifying match. d. The Drill Match will be in accordance with 4th BDE Drill MOI- 13Aug13. As such, teams will be penalized for the wear of non-standard uniform items (berets, ascots) IAW the deductions outlined in the MOI. e. The Rifle Match will be in accordance with National Standard 3-Position rules, 11th Edition, 01Sep16. f. All participating cadets must be currently enrolled in the high school or prep school they are representing. g. Each school is responsible for securing its own equipment, including all rifles. 4. Logistics. a. Harnett Central High School will operating two concession stands, serving hot and cold foods for purchase. Fast food facilities are located within a 15-20 minute ride none within walking distance of the campus. b. We will park buses in the student parking lot. All private vehicles must park in the front of the school and/or follow the guidelines of the Road Guards.
c. Schools requiring overnight lodging will need to coordinate their own arrangements. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide changing rooms. Both concession stands have Restrooms. Location Football Field and Commons Area next to the Main Gym inside. d. We recommend that units bring signed medical release forms in case a cadet needs emergency treatment. Central Harnett Hospital is 8 miles from the Harnett Central High School campus. 5. If severe weather prohibits a safe conduct of the meet, we will modify or cancel the meet. We will make a weather call at 1200 on 5-Oct-18. If we need to modify or cancel the event, we will notify all participating schools via the email address you indicate on the registration form on 5-Oct-18 by 1500. 6. Campus Map (will be provided to each school on the day of the Tri-Meet) ENCLOSURE 1: AWARDS 1. 1 st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall Tri-Meet Trophies. a. Schools must have a Raider, Rifle, and Drill team competing to be eligible for an Overall Trophy. b. Scoring. (1) Raiders: The Raider team with the least amount of Raider competition points receives 1st place. (2) Rifle: The Rifle team with the highest Rifle competition score receives 1 st place. (3) Drill: The Drill team with the highest amount of Drill competition points receives the least amount of quality points. The Drill team with the least amount of quality points receives 1st place.
(4) Harnett Central High School Ribbon: Each cadet who participates on any competing team receives the HCHS Tri-Meet Ribbon. 2. Individual and Team Awards. a. Raider Team. (1) 1st and 2 nd Overall Raider Teams: The Raider team with the least amount of Raider competition points receives the 1st place trophy and so on. (2) 1st place in Event categories (Rope Bridge, Litter Carry, 5 km, PT, Logistic Race) receives appropriate points; 1 st and 2 nd place teams in each event will receive trophies. (3) The cadet with overall highest PT score (out of males AND females) will receive Best Individual PT trophy; 1 st Trophies and// 2 nd place cadets will receive neck-worn medals. ****Important note**** Cadre/Instructors will not be allowed onto the Football Field while the Raider P.T. Test is being conducted! Seats are available within the stadium, along the outside of the spectators fence along the track. We encourage you to let the Raider Team Commanders take charge of this portion of the competition. b. Drill Team. (1) 1 st and 2nd, Overall Drill Team: The Drill Team with the least amount of quality points receives 1st place trophy. (2) 1 st and 2 nd in event categories (reg. plt. with, reg. plt. w/o, reg. sq. with, reg. sq. w/o, precision sq. with, precision sq. w/o, precision pl. with, precision pl. w/o, precision duet, precision individual, and color guard) receives a trophy accordingly. (3) Knock-out drill (with and w/o arms): The last two cadets remaining in each knock out drill will receive a medal accordingly. c. Rifle Team. (1) 1 st and 2nd Overall Rifle Teams will receive trophies. (2) 1 st and 2nd Overall Individual shooters will receive trophies. (3) 1 st and 2nd, Place Individual shooters in each position (Prone, Standing, and Kneeling) will receive neck-worn medals
