SWIMMING POOL RULES & REGULATIONS * GENERAL All persons using the facilities of the HVGC pool do so at their own risk. Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club will not be responsible for accident, injury, or loss of personal property through theft or fire. The lifeguards have complete authority in the supervision of the swimming pool and property at the swimming pool. The lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safe and orderly conditions. Members shall be responsible for property damage caused by themselves, members of their family, and/or their guests. The cost of such damages shall be charged to the responsible owner. These rules and regulations may be amended at any time by the management. All suggestions and complaints concerning the operation of the swimming pool should be directed to the General Manager. Outside food and beverages are not permitted pursuant to Club Rules. The pool will be reserved at certain times for swim team practices and meets. Schedule will be posted and communicated by email to membership. Private lessons may be arranged through the swim team coaches directly. POOL HOURS & OPERATION See pool bulletin board for details, including special events, swim/dive team practices, and meets. The lifeguards, in conjunction with the club management, may designate hours for special events, including, but not limited to, periods of adult only swimming. The pool may be closed for maintenance, health conditions, weather, or any reason deemed sufficient by the lifeguard and club management. MEMBERSHIP Membership is required for admission to the pool area. Each entrant must check in upon entering. Members under the age of 12 must be accompanied into the pool area by an older member (16 years or older). An adult may not supervise more than 4 children less than 10 years of age. GUESTS Any person who is not a member of HVGC is considered a guest. All guests must be sponsored by a member who must remain with the guest the entire time the guest is at the pool. Guests do not have signing privileges at the Club in any area for purchases. Guest may charge or pay cash. All guests must register and sign in with member. 1 of 5 pages
HEALTH & SAFETY Any person showing evidence of skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharge, or any communicable disease shall be refused admission to the pool. Persons with excessive sunburn, open blisters, cuts or bandages shall be refused admission. Expectoration, roughness, rowdyism, or other conduct affecting the comfort and safety of others will not be permitted. Where food and drink are allowed, only nonglass containers shall be allowed. Metal or other hard objects or toys are not allowed in either pool. All bathers shall shower before entering the pool. Masks, fins, snorkel, and other swimming accessories will be permitted only with the permission of the lifeguard. Use of the kiddy pool is restricted to children 5 years of age and younger. Children using the kiddy pool must be supervised at all times by an adult other than the lifeguard or pool management company. In the event of a thunderstorm, the lifeguard will remove all swimmers from the water at the first sign of the storm. Swimmers will not be permitted to return to the water until at least 30 minutes after the last sign of the lightning, 60 minutes for thunder. Trash is to be disposed of in the containers provided. No bicycles, in-line skates, or other vehicles are permitted within the pool enclosure. Proper bathing attire is required at all times. No T-shirts or cut-offs. Children in diapers must wear tight fitting rubber pants while in either pool. The newer swim diapers are permitted and encouraged. Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or other drugs shall be denied admission to the pool area. Smoking is not permitted in the pool area (perimeter fence) or in the guardhouse. RULES OF CONDUCT No one is permitted in the pool or pool area when the lifeguard is not on duty. Each member is responsible for keeping the pool, grass area, deck, and clubhouse tidy. No running, pushing, ball playing or any other rough behavior will be allowed in the pool or surrounding area. Diving allowed in designated areas only. Jumping will not be permitted into the kiddy pool. No pets are allowed on pool property. Pets may not be tied to the pool area fence. Abusive or profane language shall not be used in the pool area. 2 of 5 pages
The lifeguard shall eject unruly persons from the pool area. The lifeguards primary responsibility is to look after the safety of all within the pool enclosure. Members and guests should not distract the lifeguards from their duties. Only Coast Guard approved life vests will be permitted for the child to swim without an adult in the water. Such vests are clearly marked. Any person who does not comply with pool rules and regulations will not be permitted in the pool area. Music may not be played aloud, headphones must be used. No chairs, tables, or lounge are permitted within 6 feet of the pool perimeter. Lifeguards must have unobstructed access to the pool. All members must clean up a er themselves and their guests using trash receptacles provided. FLOTATION DEVICES Flotation devices will only be permitted if the child s parent or designated adult is in the pool or sitting on the edge with his/her feet in the water, ready to assist the child if the need arises. The child must be within arm s reach of the adult. If the adult chooses to sit on the deck, he/she may not be sitting in a chair close by. Adults may watch only one child with swimmies at a time. All flotation devices shall be judged acceptable or unacceptable by the lifeguards on an individual basis. Should the lifeguard deem the device acceptable, it will be permitted under the conditions prescribed above. 3 of 5 pages
TENNIS RULES & REGULATIONS* GENERAL Tennis footwear must be cleaned prior to entering the courts. Courts must be groomed smoothly with equipment provided after play. Ball machine and any other items used must be placed back in closet prior to leaving the court. No large or heavy objects are permitted to be placed on the playing surfaces, chairs or tables. Please close umbrellas prior to leaving tennis court area. Tennis courts are to be used for tennis only. No other activities are permitted on the courts. No food or beverages are permitted to be brought in from the outside. All food and beverage must be purchased through the club. Food and beverage may be stored and consumed on patio, but is not permitted on courts at any time. Water bottles in unbreakable container are permitted. Members are responsible for cleaning up all trash and place in appropriate containers provided. DRESS Players must wear appropriate tennis footwear in accordance with the recommendation of the tennis professional to insure conformity and not to damage court surface. The wearing of appropriate tennis attire must be observed. JUNIOR PLAYERS All children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the sidelines at all times. Parent or guardian responsible to children to follow all tennis court rules and etiquette. If an adult groups come to play at any time (other than a lesson being given by tennis professional, children are expected to vacate the courts. RESERVATIONS Courts may be reserved in advance with the tennis professional for activities. Group and special events may be organized by the tennis professional in coordination with club management. Times of these events will be updated in weekly telegraph and any closing of the courts will be announced. GUEST POLICY Sign in sheets will be posted on bulletin board for all members and their guests to sign in. Members are responsible for their guests on the courts and while on club property. Unaccompanied guests are not permitted. Members may have the same guest a maximum of five (5) times per year. This does not include special tournaments such as member guests, interclub matches and similar events. LIGHTS Lights are to be turned on at night only when courts are in use. Lights must be turned off when leaving the court area and are not to be on past 10 pm as per town ordinance. Lights may not be used October 15 - May 15 by order of zoning board. 4 of 5 pages
PADDLE TENNIS RULES & REGULATIONS* GENERAL Courts are available on a first come first serve basis. Reservations may be made by signing in on board in warming hut. All league play takes precedent over any other play. Guests must be accompanied by a member at all time. Members must sign their guests in on sign in sheet in warming hut. All lights and heaters are to be turned off and garbage disposed upon leaving the paddle area. Inter-club matches, club tournaments and club organized play takes precedence over any reserved mes. These events will be publicized and posted in warming hut. SNOW REMOVAL Salt or any melting agents are not permitted on paddle courts at any time as they will damage the playing surface. Propane heaters may be turned on as there are 4, one under each court and may only be run at 15 minute intervals. GUESTS A member may bring the same guest no more than 5 times annually. This does not include tournament or interclub play. Guests must be signed in at warming hut with member and appropriate guest fees will be charged. *Rules and Regulations are subject to change. Members are responsible for discarding garbage in receptacle provided. No food or beverages are permitted on the courts at any time. Beverages may be placed in refrigerator in warming hut. Any use of the fire pits must be monitored and distinguished upon leaving the paddle court area. SHOES ONLY rubber sole shoes are to be worn. LIGHTS Must be turned off when members are finished playing. All lights must be turned off by 10 pm by order of the town zoning department. 5 of 5 pages
