Status of the Project CRZ- I (B) Area is earmarked Rapid EIA prepared Flood Assessment study Report prepared Soil Investigation Study completed Proposed area for Solar Park in CRZ-I (B) is earmarked GCZMA Authority has approved the proposal and will send to MoEF for approval. In-principle approval received from MNRE GoI Draft DPR for Solar Park is almost ready Area for 33kV/220 kv Substation ( Pooling statation ) is earmarked 10
Modalities of implementation of Solar projects with-in solar Park 11
Infrastructure to be provided by SPDA, i.e. GPCL GPCL will be solar Park Development agency Approach Road (Not internal road of the plot) River training works (optional) Power Evacuation - 33/220kV Sub-Station (Connecting 33 kv cables is the responsibility of the developer) Water Supply Network (Up-to plot) Solar Park Fencing Street Light Land of plots shall be provided on long term lease basis. 12
Responsibility of Solar Project Developer Project is to be develop under Guidelines of the Developer of the solar Park, issued by MNRE, GoI. As a Solar Park developer, GPCL shall provide basic facilities as mentioned in previous slide Power Generated shall be procured by GUVNL / SECI Pooling Station of 33/220 kv shall be provided by GPCL Solar Project developer shall be selected through competitive bidding process. Selected Solar project developer has to conceal, design, procure, build, Operate and maintain the solar project for the entire PPA period. 13

Issues and Challenges The entire area of Solar Park is falling under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ-1B). Prior Environmental Clearance is required. Soil investigation study work indicates that Soil consists of salty clay of medium plasticity up to 10.00m depth of termination. Soil has swelling potential. Ground water table is observed at depth 1.50m to 2.50m depth below GL. Location is near seashore, there will be frequent submergence of area during high tide period, Considering all above factors, special foundation & structure would be required. Special treatment to foundations and structure would also be needed. As per the flood assessment study, entire area submerged during the three months in monsoon period. This would add further challenge to operate and maintain the solar park during such period. 16
