Seven times now Seattle has served as host to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the most prestigious team tournament aside from NCAA s. Up through 2008 the tournament was a 16-team invitational tournament. In 2009, qualifying rounds were added to expand the field to sixty-one with the final sixteen advancing to the final site. Washington hosted most recently in 2013. The Huskies have won at least one match all seven times they ve hosted, and three times they started the tournament with a significant upset. In 1999, UW s first year hosting, the Huskies opened with an upset of third-ranked Mississippi State. Two years later, UW upset No. 4 Georgia and later beat No. 8 Florida to earn a tie for fifth-place. In 2006, Washington worked its home court magic once again, victimizing sixth-ranked Virginia. In 2012, the Pac-12 Conference switched to a team tournament format for the first time, moving away from a singles and doubles tournament. The eight conference teams in 2012 were seeded based on regular season conference records. The No. 5-No. 8 seeds and No. 6-No. 7 seeds play in the first round, then the winners face the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the quarterfinals. The top two seeds have byes through two rounds, and play the winners of the quarterfinal matches in the semifinals.

ALL-AMERICANS DICK KNIGHT 1970 Husky All-Americans MEN S TENNIS MATT HANLIN 2001 Singles Washington s first All-American, Knight lettered from 1968-70 for the Huskies and was inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame in 1995. Knight qualified and competed at The U.S. Open in 1971 and Wimbledon in 1972. He lost to tennis legend Arthur Ashe in the first round of the 1971 U.S. Open. Knight was also notorious for a 107-game match played the year before tiebreakers were introduced. CHET CRILE 1993 Singles Crile, hailing from Mercer Island, Wash., became UW s first All-American in over 20 years and set the singleseason wins record with 39 victories against 14 defeats. That season wins mark still stands and Crile ranks second all-time with 108 singles wins. Crile finished the season ranked 20th nationally and made the NCAA singles field. He was UW s Pac-10 Medal winner in 1993 and a three-time Pac-10 Northern Division ERIC DREW 1999 Singles & Doubles Drew was part of a powerful duo at the top of UW s lineup in 1999, as he and Robert Kendrick each earned All-America honors in singles and as a doubles tandem. A Woodinville, Wash. native, Drew was ranked as high as 17th during 1999, his senior year, and finished 20th with a 23-8 record. An unseeded Drew made a surprise run all the way to the NCAA Semifinals in singles, becoming UW s first semifinalist in over 40 years. Drew and Kendrick made the Round of 16 in doubles as well and were ROBERT KENDRICK 1999 Singles & Doubles The California native enjoyed a stellar sophomore season, as he and Eric Drew juggled the top two spots and each earned All- America honors in singles and as a doubles team. The pair made the NCAA Round of 16 and finished ranked 13th. Kendrick posted a 31-9 singles record and was ranked as high as No. 3. He reached the final of the ITA National Indoor Championships, losing to future star James Blake. He has enjoyed an impressive pro career, playing in all four majors and still ranks Hanlin presided over UW s first three appearances in the NCAA Round of 16, beginning in 2001 when he went 19-6 at No. 1 singles as a sophomore and reached the NCAA Singles Round of 16. Hanlin was ranked as high as No. 11 in his career, and made the Round of 16 at all three major individual events. The native Englishman was a four-time All-Pac-10 Team selection and his 178 combined singles and doubles wins rank second on UW s ALEX VLASKI 2003, 2004, 2005 Singles The UW s only three-time All-American, Vlaski was a dominant force his entire career, and holds the singles wins record with 111. He won the 2003 ITA All-American Singles Championship, the first national title for a Husky since 1924. Vlaski was ranked as high as No. 2 in 2004, and finished each year ranked in the Top-25, and twice in the Top-10. The Belgrade, Serbia native made the NCAA semis in 2003 as a sophomore, was a three-time Pac-10 Singles finalist, and three-time first ALEX SLOVIC 2007 Singles Slovic put the cap on an illustrious career with a remarkable run at the 2007 NCAA Championships as a senior. Orginally an alternate, once Slovic gained entry into the tourney, he reeled off four wins in a row over Top-40 players, including the No. 3 and No. 7 seeded players, to reach the semifinals and secure his first All-America honor. Slovic holds the UW career record for combined singles and doubles wins, with 184. He was a four-time All-Pac-10 Team member and three- KYLE McMORROW 2013 Singles McMorrow finished his stellar Husky career by earning his first All-American honor in 2013. He capped his illustrious time at UW with 100 career victories, three all-conference first team selections, and three appearances in the NCAA singles championships. He also appeared in one NCAA doubles championships and was the 2010 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. His 100 wins rank him fifth on the UW s all-time wins list, and he became the eighth All-American in school history.
