Parent and Gymnasts Information Welcome to Tampa Bay and the 30th Annual Gasparilla Classic. Here is some information regarding the meet: Location: Tropicana Field, One Tropicana Drive, St Petersburg, FL 33705. Doors Open: 8:15am on Friday. 7:15am Saturday and Sunday. There will be no entry into the stadium until this time. Door fees are daily. There are no weekend passes. Door Fees: Adults $20 per day, Children (5-12yrs) $10 per day CASH ONLY. Once tickets are scanned they cannot be used to re-enter the stadium. For SAME DAY re-entry you will need to get a wrist band from one of our staff members. Parking: $15 per day CASH ONLY. Lot 6A is the main parking lot. Upon Arrival: Enter at Gate 1 The Rotunda (main entrance). The stadium has security- bags will be checked. No food or drinks permitted. Athlete registration will be just inside. Athletes will check in by team name and be given their athlete credential and goody bags. Athletes must show their credential to enter the arena. Tickets can be purchased to the left of the athlete registration. You will enter the stadium at center field. Look for signs directing you to the correct gym. Additional Info: If you have any questions about the competition, please ask your coach prior to arriving in Tampa/St. Petersburg. Your coach (and only your coach) can then email us if they cannot answer your questions. Host Hotel Information- All host hotels are listed on our website www.lightningcity.com. Ask for Gasparilla Classic/Lightning City Gymnastics rate. Tampa International Airport is located a convenient 15 minutes from the competition site. Please allow extra time to arrive for your competition, especially during peak traffic hours - Friday between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Parking is nearby, but allow 15 minutes to walk to the arena, register your gymnast and get to the competitive floor. Awards will be held on the baseball field in left field. We suggest no heeled shoes. There will be a large gymnastics vendor area selling a variety of gymnastics items. Bring cash for those who do not accept credit cards. Concession stands will be open all weekend. They have a large variety of food and drinks. Tropicana Field is not heated, please dress appropriately. Official results will be posted on our website www.lightningcity.com. Results will be posted the day of competition. Dear Coaches, The 30th Annual Gasparilla Classic is just over six weeks away. We are very excited to host a great weekend of gymnastics and what looks like will be our largest Gasparilla ever! Please note the following: Schedule: The schedule is posted on our website www.lightningcity.com. If your team has any conflicts with the schedule, please contact us by email immediately with a suggestion of which session would best fit your needs. Location: The address for Tropicana Field is One Tropicana Drive, St Petersburg, FL 33705. Park in Lot 6A. Enter the Stadium at Gate 1 (The Rotunda). To get from the parking lot, through security, through registration to the competition floor will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Saturday morning registration is very busy. Please plan accordingly. Credentials: All coaches must have credentials to be on the floor. All coaches must sign in at registration. USA Gymnastics membership cards must be on display at all times on the competition floor. All coaches will be required to show credentials to pass through entrance turnstiles. Changes: Substitutions and level changes please make no later than February 9th. Please email these to lcgymnasts@aol.com. They will be allowed based on availability. Please email all scratches by February 15th so that we can remove them from the rotation sheets. There are no refunds at this time for any reason. Graduating Seniors: We have a few surprises for our Graduating Seniors. If you have gymnasts who will be graduating this year, please email your athletes name and level so they can be recognized. Awards: Individual and Team awards will be given after each session. Individual awards will be given 50% + 1 for all sessions. All gymnasts competing at least one event will receive a custom special 30th Anniversary All Around medal. The top three All Around Gymnasts will also receive a trophy. Team Trophies- We are giving more Team Trophies than ever this year. Please make sure you pick up your Team Trophies and take them home with you. Team trophies are given after each session. Please pick up your trophies before 5:00 pm Sunday. We do not ship Team Trophies that are not picked up. Trophies not picked up will be donated to a local youth sports program.
Additional Info: There is no open workout scheduled. I would recommend calling a club in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. All equipment is American Athletic (AAI). All girl s gyms will be Modified Capital Cup format. Tropicana Field is not heated. Please dress appropriately. If it is cold outside it will be cold in the dome. Results will be posted on the website www.lightningcity.com. They will be posted during the competition that day. If you have any questions it would be best if you e-mail us at lcgymnasts@aol.com.
