Welcome to the 2018 Church Run Rockets swim season! Children of All pool members are invited to join the Rockets! We have two routes to becoming a Rocket: Swim Team for swimmers who can swim one length of the pool unassisted Pre-team - for swimmers who are comfortable in the water, have basic stroke knowledge, but who cannot swim a full length of the pool unassisted Registration is entirely online @ https://churchrunrockets.swimtopia.com. Be sure to sign in prior to registration and follow us on Facebook. We use both sites to update swim families. ONLINE Registration starts at 7 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2018 Need a suit? Join us at NOVA Swim Shop on April 22 from 2-4 PM What does registration require? Complete online registration forms (including emergency care information) Sign up for 4 volunteer shifts (defined as half of a swim meet, usually a shift of 2 ½ hours) to fulfill your family volunteer requirements. Pre-team families are not required to volunteer until their child graduates to the team. Pay registration fees. Registration Fees are greatly reduced for 2018! As a result of great community sponsorship and the Team-sponsored honor (snack) bar at the pool, we are able to drastically reduce our swim registration fees and eliminate the snack bar fee (totaling $125 in 2017): Graduating high school Seniors (12 th graders) pay only $50 13 year olds through high school Juniors (11 th graders) pay only $75 Swimmers 12 and under pay only $90 Let us know if your organization would like to be a sponsor too! This is a volunteer driven organization! It truly takes our village to make summer swim season come alive. Volunteering is required as a condition of your child swimming. Please see the CRR web site for information on volunteer positions. We are always in need of certified officials; if interested, please reach out to Brad Barrett at bradjbarrett10@gmail.com. We want to help new swim families get launched onto our team! Church Run s Pre-Team program helps young swimmers learn the basic skills needed to compete at a swim meet. We have a morning and afternoon practice; each is limited to 20 swimmers, and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Select a session at registration, as this will be your assigned practice time for the duration of the season. Bring your first time swimmer to new swimmer evaluation on May 17 or May 19 to determine if they are a candidate for our pre-team program, the swim team, or should be taking swim lessons. If you have a swimmer over age 8 who has not yet participated on a swim team, reach out to the coaches at CRRCoaches@gmail.com to get your swimmer evaluated and assigned a friend to help with introductions to the team. QUESTIONS? Contact Tara Borchers, CRR President, at tara_borchers@yahoo.com or ChurchRunRockets@gmail.com.
