The Monthly Newsletter of The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club From The President s Desk By Alan James So far October has been extremely interesting with more to come before it s over no doubt. Over the past week or so we were all made aware again of the potential power a massive hurricane can produce. Hopefully all of you are safe and electricity has been restored. Most likely some of you have damage to your home or property but thankfully very few in this state lost their lives during the storm. The same cannot be said for other places and our hearts go out to everyone that has been affected. October 2016 meeting for more information. Everyone is welcome to join in. The club hunt this month will be held on October 29 which is one week later than the normal hunt day. This hunt will include a picnic along with the hunt activities so plan on bringing a side dish or dessert if possible. The hunt will be held at the church pavilion located on Highbanks Road in Debary approximately 2 miles West of the meeting hall. We will start the activities at 9:00 AM and continue until afternoon. Since the September meeting the club membership has found and returned a large number of lost items to the owners. This is part of what the Central Florida Metal Detecting Club is known for and something for which we should all be proud. Congratulations to each of you. I ll see you at the next meeting. A few weeks ago the CFMDC volunteers that assisted Kellyco at the Camp La No Che over the past scouting season participated in a special reward hunt. Approximately 30 of us spent the entire day hunting at the camp and were treated to a steak lunch and prizes in addition to a fantastic hunting opportunity. Several pieces of silver, scout memorabilia, and lots & lots of other items were recovered during the day. This special hunt was open ONLY to those members of the club that took time to volunteer at the camp last season. This opportunity is open again. Beginning this Saturday, Kellyco will be looking for volunteers to help out over the balance of weekends in October. If you want to participate please register with Kellyco online or ask at the Alan
