August 2018 MISSION STATEMENT The object of this organization shall be the encouragement of organized rifle, shotgun and pistol shooting among residents of our community, with a view toward better knowledge on the part of citizens of our community of the safe handling and the proper care of firearms, and the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self discipline and self reliance that are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism. NOTICE TO ALL HIGH POWER RANGE USERS Please read and comply with the High Power Range Rules posted on the bulletin board at the High Power Range. In addition, we ask for your cooperation with the following issues that are causing damage to our facilities: If you wish to use wooden target stands, please make and bring your own target stands. And take them home with you when you are done shooting. You may place your wooden target stands in the target stand bases at the 200 yard line, or make and bring your own target stand base for use at the 50 and 100 yard lines. Please DO NOT stand the 200 yard target stand bases up on end and staple targets to them or put clay pigeons on them. Please DO NOT shoot at the 200 yard target stand bases. Please DO NOT put paper targets or clay pigeons on the gong stand at the 200 yard line. The gong stand is for steel gongs only. Please DO NOT attach targets to the tires at the 100 yard line, or place targets in front of the tires. The tires are only for hanging your steel gongs at the 100 yard line. Our High Power Range facilities are maintained by volunteers. When stuff gets shot up or otherwise destroyed, it may be quite a while before it gets repaired. Thank you, Gary Thorson & Tom Schuettke High Power Range Directors Editor: Robert Moody 491-4092, PlinkerEditor@comcast.net. Items for the Plinker must be submitted by the 15th of the month. Call or email for details.

PA GE 3 T HE P LINKE R A UGUST 2018 MUZZLELOADER TRAIL CLEAN-UP June 30, 2018 The work party for the muzzleloader trail clean-up was a complete success. We had 13 members working on this detail plus two members of the Seven Rivers Muzzleloaders. Most of the work involved cutting the grown-up brush and ferns down so the targets could be seen as well as painting the metal targets and tying new flagging on the supports for visibility. At least two of the targets also needed attention in the way of repairs but now the trail appears to be ready for use, with the exception of the grass in the road which does need mowing. Special thanks go out to all who participated, and they were; Roy Williams, Frank Ponceroff, John Vladeff, Adam Sampson, Tom Brown, Josh Brown, Mike Nesbitt, Bob DeLisle, Clarence Atchison, Will Ulry, Rowland Zoller, Doug Simpson, Jerry Mayo, and Phil Wiebe. The two members of the Seven Rivers Muzzleloaders who came to help were Dave Martin and Gary Emberley. With the work done by these members, the muzzleloader trail is now ready for use for the Many Rivers Rifle Frolic that is coming soon. Good doin s!!

PA GE 6 T HE P LINKE R A UGUST 2018 Membership Terminated Thom Jenrette, CCRP member since 1989, had his membership immediately terminated during the 15 May Board of Directors meeting. Thom violated many Bylaws and Standing Rules in a manner that put the entire club at risk. The Board decided that Thom s violations were so severe, his membership was immediately terminated, he would turn in all access cards and keys, and leave the property. Thom was also informed he could not attend open gate public events, or in fact ever be on CCRP property again. Doing so would be treated as trespass. Any member that allows Thom Jenrette access to the CCRP property, opening the gate or bringing him as a guest, puts their membership at risk, and will have to answer to the Board. This may sound harsh, but the Board made this decision with the Club s, and your, best interest in mind. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any Board member. Their names are listed later in this newsletter. Thanks. Richard Schneider CCRP Board / Security and IT C AP IT O L CITY RIFLE & PI ST O L CLUB PO BOX 3832 L AC EY W A 985 09
