XTERRA BEAVER CREEK TRAIL RUNS Trail runs in Colorado can be a breathtaking experience in more ways than one, and the XTERRA Beaver Creek Trail Run is no exception. The course offers scenic views while taking runners along 2,400 feet of climbing in the thin Colorado air. It will also count as part of the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series, so 20km runners can earn valuable points toward a Colorado Series championship. There will be a 19km, 10K and 5K courses for the whole family to enjoy. Event t-shirts are guaranteed for all athletes registering by June 30. Walk-ups and registrations after July 1 are not guaranteed a t-shirt. You must be present to receive awards. BRING YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Load up the car for the trip and bring your family and friends! The XTERRA Race Village is a great place to hang out and watch the race. In between all of the race action, there will be music, commentary and exhibition tents. The expo is open Friday from 2 8 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am 2 pm and Sunday 8 am-12 pm. And, you and your family and friends can sit and relax at the Awards ceremony, located in the Beaver Creek Resort Village, where athletes can enjoy a free beer (21 and over). HOW TO GET THERE DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM DENVER Take 70W to exit 167 to Avon/Beaver Creek, enter the roundabout and continue left. You will be heading south, and will go back under I-70. Continue straight on Avon Road through the roundabouts, after which you will see the entrance to Beaver Creek Resort. Proceed to the Welcome Gate and let them know you re here for XTERRA. Tip: A good address to enter in your phone is of the Beaver Creek Chophouse: 15 West Thomas Place, Avon, CO 81620. This will get you to the expo area, and registration is about 80 yards east. Note: This is a point-to-point race with the swim start and T1 at Nottingham Lake just down the hill. The expo, T2, and finish line are all at Beaver Creek Resort. OTHER EVENTS XTERRA BEAVER CREEK CHAMPIONSHIP-Saturday, 7/21 This race will serve as a qualifier for the 2018 XTERRA World Championship, a gold level XTERRA Pan American Tour stop and a 100-point XTERRA America Tour championship race. The event will feature $15,000 USD in prize money for elite athletes, who will compete over a 1 mile swim, 25km mountain bike and 9.3km trail run. For amateurs, there will be 51 spots into the XTERRA World Championship to be held October 28 in Maui up-for-grabs. XTERRA SPRINT- Saturday, 7/21 Distance:.5 mile swim / 14.4km mountain bike / 4.9km trail run The XTERRA Sprint race is a half-distance race run on the same course and day as the championship race. The race is a great opportunity for new competitors, or for those who want a less-demanding XTERRA experience. XTERRA UNIVERSITY Get ready to XTERRA with the sport s best-friday at 5 pm in the XTERRA Village. XTERRA University, presented by Paul Mitchell is hosted by XTERRA Pro Athletes Josiah Middaugh and Lesley Paterson and offers competitors a chance to take in last-minute advice and pointers from some of the best off- road multisport athletes in the sport. The FREE sessions target improved swimming, biking and trail running techniques plus dealing with the specifics of the Beaver Creek course. There will be time for Q&A with the pros during each session. All classes will be held at the race compound at the Beaver Creek Village. TRIATHLON RACE BRIEFING Held in conjunction with XTERRA University, Race Director, Chris Appleton will run through the ins and outs of the XTERRA Triathlon and Sprint courses. There will also be a race briefing on race morning at 8:05 am for Sprint and 8:40 am for Full, so please ensure that you check your race briefing time noted on the event schedule. COMMUNITY SWIM The Nottingham Lake will be open for a community swim ($5 per person) on Thursday, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Pay and check in at the Avon Performance Pavilion. PRE-SWIMMING AT NOTTINGHAM LAKE IS PROHIBITED OUTSIDE OF SCHEDULED DAYS/HOURS and is cause for disqualification. XTERRA KIDS ZONE AND KID S SPRINT Sign your kids up to play in the XTERRA Kid s Zone for free! There s a fun obstacle course and climbing net. You can also register children 10 and under for the free XTERRA Kid s Sprint on Saturday 12:30 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am. All finishers get a medal. XTERRA BEER GARDEN AND AWARDS POST RACE MEAL Post race, relax and enjoy swapping race stories with friends and family at the XTERRA Beer Garden located next to the ice rink in Beaver Creek Village. Enjoy great music! Athletes 21 and over can redeem their beer ticket for a free beer, courtesy of Michelob Ultra. Awards ceremonies for all events will also be held in the Beer Garden.

Click here for registration information START TIMES-SUNDAY, JULY 22 Here are the scheduled start times for the courses: o 19K starts at 8:00 am o o 10K starts at 8:15 am 5K starts at 8:20 am Please be on time and follow the instructions of the announcers and officials. RACE BRIEFING The race briefing for all courses is scheduled for 7:40 am near the starting arch. It is not mandatory for runners to be there, but XTERRA Race Director Chris Appleton will be on hand to explain the details of the race. CANNON BLASTS We will start with a cannon blast. It is very loud, so please be mindful of dogs and children, cover their ears or move away from the start area.

RACE RULES No Headsets-XTERRA does not allow runners to wear headsets or earpieces during the races. No Strollers Or Baby Carriers - Sorry we love babies, but for safety reasons, no strollers or baby carriers are allowed on the course. 19K cut off time is 10 am. Runners may not continue on the second lap after this time. Leave No Trace - The XTERRA team asks that you respect the Race Village, race course and venue and leave no trace of trash before, during or after the race. COURSE MARKINGS The run course will be marked in red. The 19km will be two laps of the 10km course. The course will be clearly marked using a mixture of core flute signs and arrows as well as bright tape tied to trees to re-assure you that you are going the right way. Please watch out for course signage along the way. Our course marshals who will be pointing you in the right direction. AID STATIONS There will be two aid stations for the 5K course, four aid stations for the 10K course, and eight aid stations for the 19K course. Gatorade and water will be available at all stations, MEDICAL We have qualified medical personnel at the Race Village and roaming on the course. If you feel unwell at any stage of the race, please alert the closest course marshal who will arrange for our medical staff to meet you. CUT-OFF TIMES 19K-Runners may not continue on the second lap after 10 am. BAG CHECK We will have a bag check available at registration. Have your items in a closed bag and write your bib number on it.

TIMING We re using JTL Timing, which relies on a manual system so you won t have to wear a chip on your ankle. There is a tag on the bottom of your race bib that you must not remove. It will be pulled from your bib after you cross the finish line from one of the JTL timing assistants. AWARDS AT XTERRA BEER GARDEN Awards will be given to the top three in each age-group division. You must be present to receive your awards. Awards will not be mailed after the event. The 5K awards will start 9:30 am, 10K awards start at around 10 am, followed by the 19K around 11 am. XTERRA TRAIL RUN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Every age group winner from the 19K race will receive a free entry to the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship at Kualoa Ranch, Hawaii, on December 2, 2018.
