Any pony / horse eliminated or disqualified will not be required again. *Maximum Height - Not all fences will be set at Maximum height for nominated class, but a minimum of 1 fence will be at the maximum height. No penalty is incurred if the lower pole on the same vertical plane is lowered. If a pony/horse jumps the incorrect fence it will be eliminated. Ponies/horses displaying continued disobedience or leaving the ring, whether the rider is mounted or dismounted will be eliminated. The highest placed exhibit of each breed in the classes listed will qualify for the Ridden Native Pony class at 2015 Barastoc Horse of the Year Show in Weribee, Victoria HOW THE CLASSES WILL WORK: The entrants are judged by 2 judges, one judge will judge the entrants under saddle for manners, paces & workout, the other in hand for conformation and adherence to the breed standards. The entrants will all work under saddle on the ring together initially as per a standard saddle class, with approx. a circle each of walk, trot & canter. All entrants will then line up. The entrants present one at a time to the saddle judge & perform the standard ridden native pony workout. Upon finishing the standard ridden workout, each entrant returns to the lineup up where the horse is immediately stripped by the strapper. The entrants then present immediately to the in hand judge, present & then complete the standard in hand workout. The exhibit is re-saddled by the strapper and rejoins the lineup. ALL competitors in Ring 1 & 2 must either be a SHC-SA Inc. member or member of another SHC affiliate (e.g. HIA Comp Assoc) at the time of competition. Ring 1 & 2 competitors can be day members upon paying their fee but only count for that day of competition. Ring 3 Competitors need to be $10 day members and complete the day waiver form to compete. 2. Riders must wear approved hats (ASNZ 3838 / EN 1384) and boots at all times while riding. 3. The judge s decision is final there is to be no approach to the judge unless authorised by the convener or steward. 4. Liability: Neither the organising committee, the SHC nor the owners/lessees of the venue accept any liability for accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, persons or property whatsoever. Horse Riding is a dangerous sport and competitors ride at their own risk. 5. No stallions or colts permitted on the show grounds. 6. Catering will be available on the day by Metropolitan Show Jump Club Canteen 7. Protests must be lodged in writing, together with a $50.00 deposit, no later than half an hour after the incident which gives rise to the dispute. The deposit will be refunded only if the protest is upheld. 8. Entries can ONLY compete as either Show Hack or Show Hunter for the season 1/1/14 31/12/14 with SHC-SA and HIA Comp. Assoc. Shows. Only then can competitors change sections if they wish. This is ruling from SHC of Aust. Inc. 9. Gates will be open from 6.30am 10.
