Nothing is more rewarding than finishing a marathon! Our students have the opportunity to not only run 26.2 miles, but to also foster a love of books, and give back to our wonderful community! Students in grades 3, 4 & 5, will commit to reading 26 books, performing deeds in the community totaling 26 deed points, and running a total of 26.2 miles. The MFL club will meet after school to discuss books, deeds, stretching, nutrition, and run under the supervision of Marathon for Life coaches and administrators. Students will run their final 1.2 miles in a race to earn their Finisher s t-shirt and medal. Students should plan to attend every Marathon for Life club meeting unless absent from school. 3. Students with excessive absences will be reviewed by the Marathon of Life Coaches to determine if they can continue to participate. 4. Students must follow rules and instructions, and demonstrate responsible behavior. Problems with behavior in the classroom or in the program may result in removal from the program. 5. If a student receives a discipline referral, the Marathon for Life Coaches will review and determine if the student can continue to participate.
