The Happenings Around The Club Summer is right around the corner! The Blue Frog Lagoon is opening for the season on Saturday, May 26th. See you there! Congratulations, Bo Hurley, recently named Director of Clubhouse Operations. The Greens Report We are in the middle of spring transition from our overseed back to Bermuda. So far, this spring has not been highly conducive to growing Bermuda. Sustained temperatures in the 80s during the day and the night time temperatures in the 60s are needed for optimum growth. Mother Nature has given us neither so far this spring. We will continue to monitor the weather and hopefully get the necessary temperatures to grow Bermuda. With the temperatures we received at the first of January, the greens were put under a lot of stress. The extremely low temperatures have created issues on greens throughout the Carolinas. We have four covers and we intentionally create an ice layer on the other greens during the low temperature events. It looks like we made it through mostly unscathed, but there are few areas on edges that will need to be repaired. Once spring and summer temperatures are here to stay we will begin our weekly and monthly cultural practices.
