Sunday on the Deck There will be Sunday On the Deck this Sunday 05 November with delicious light lunches available. The bar will be open from 12 noon. The rostered crew for Sunday: Galley Crew: Margaret Jones & Jocelyn Shinnie Bar Crew: Robyn Goffe Barbeque: Rob Thompson Sailing and Kayaking this Sunday 05 November - With a high tide of 2.5m occurring at 10:25am there will be both Vagabond sailing and kayaking. The commence time for sailing will be: Shed and boatyard open from 8:30am. Sailing commencing from 9:30am. The Tingira Christmas Pantomime The Lonely Woodsman A leak from a reliable source (and not a tap) has revealed that this year s Christmas Pantomime is titled The Lonely Woodsman. Although the title is now revealed the plot is still a mystery, although a source close to the production (but not the leak) has told me that the story portrays the endeavours of a hatchet carrying woodsman in search of a lost princess. (perhaps a little Stephen King-ish?) But no, it will be hilarious rather than spooky. The play will be staged on Friday 24 November. There will be no charge for members and their guests. There will not be a members dinner that night but those attending the play are encouraged to bring a plate of nibbles to share. The bar will be open from 6:00pm and dress will be Christmassy casual. More details about the play will be given as it draws closer. A Belated - But Heartfelt - Thank-You to Willem Club member Willem Guillot has generously donated a gas barbeque to our Club. The barbeque has been placed in our newly constructed bbq/pergola shelter area and will be handy for our Sunday On The Deck lunches and other Club functions. The Club thanks Willem and appreciates his generous donation.! 3 Tingira boat club newsletter 91 coast road macleay island qld 4184

16th Point Talburpin Get Together - Sunday 04 November The 16th Point Talburpin Get Together is being held this Saturday 04 November. To the uninitiated these are friendly get-togethers designed to encourage both local and visiting sailors to get out on the water in the company of other, like-minded souls, and enjoy the facility provided by high tide at Point Talburpin. Although activities are held at or near high tide, the relatively thin waters in these parts necessarily restricts participation to dinghies (of all sorts and sizes), centreboarders, catamarans, and other shallow draft vessels. The course will be set on the day depending on wind direction and strength. The Program: 10:30am Briefing on shore to confirm course and starting procedures. 11:00am 12:30pm 1:00pm Start On-water activity should be finished and social gathering begun Presentation of prizes 1:15pm onwards Continue lunch and socializing As with previous events, it is suggested that participants and friends bring a little food and drink to share at the gathering. A BBQ will be provided. Our Club RIB Sandpiper will be attending to assist in the starting / finishing of the event. Sandpiper will be crewed by Moss Lane and Peter Fox. A space is available for a further crew member if any other club member is interested. If you are interested in finding out more regarding this event please contact the Club Secretary Peter Fox 073409 5055 or email pfox54@bigpond.com At a Glance - Upcoming Events at Tingira Boat Club Tuesday 07 November 2017 Friday 24 November 2017 Saturday 16 December 2017 Melbourne Cup Lunch The Club Christmas Play The Club Christmas Party! 6 Tingira boat club newsletter 91 coast road macleay island qld 4184
