We also have a strong focus on organizing schooling level horse shows for all levels to provide a venue for tomorrow s top riders and horses to learn and grow. Our shows are also constantly growing and changing to accommodate the needs of our guests and competitors.
With each of our shows we aim to provide the following: - Fun, for riders that are just looking for a fun weekend of riding and socializing with other horse people, without any pressure, - Education, for new riders and young horses that are looking to gain experience in the show ring without being rushed and where coaches are encouraged to help their riders complete rounds on a positive note, and - Affordability, to make horse competition accessible to everyone. Our facility offers 2 indoor rings and a large outdoor arena which can be split into 2 separate rings, as well as a full kitchen and clean washrooms. Our footings are well maintained sand, except for the main indoor arena which is a rubber/sand mix. Trailer, spectator and RV parking is offered on grass just off the main driveway. Stabling is always available in our guest barn, main barn, or in portable stalls if required. We have a large group of volunteers and sponsors who deserve special mention for their support throughout the year in order to help us offer you the best possible event. SHOW RULES & DETAILS Management asks that everyone respects and obeys the following: - No dogs please. - No smoking outside of vehicles on the property please. - MLM reserves the right to change/add/scratch/combine classes as needed to fill classes. - MLM reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry. - MLM reserves the right to remove any person or horse from the show grounds if any animal or person s welfare is at risk or if unsportsmanlike behavior or misconduct is observed. - By entering the show each competitor, owner, leaser, trainer, coach, groom or any other guest agrees to abide by all of the rules & regulations listed and posted by/at MLM. Liability: - MLM will take any and all precautions to provide a safe facility and environment to all of our guests. - All competitors are required to sign a waiver upon entering, releasing MLM from responsibility for injury or damages. - MLM is also waived of responsibility for any injury incurred to guests of competitors while on MLM property. - Competitors will be held responsible for any damages/injury caused by themselves, their horses or their guests while on MLM property.
Entries: - Entries are accepted and appreciated in advance of the show (online or email to kendravl@hotmail.com). Each show has an entry deadline date specified on the entry form approximately 3 days prior to show day. Any late entries will incur a $10 processing fee. - Entries will be accepted the day of the show with a $10 processing fee. - Please come prepared with cash, cheque (made out to Maple Leaf Meadows) or credit card and a signed waiver. Riders under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Credit card payments will incur a 3% fee. - No rider will be permitted to show without proper payment or waiver in advance. We recommend paying with credit card or open cheque to allow for class scratches and addons without issue as WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS FOR SCRATCHES. - Riders and horses must fit the qualifications of a class outlined in the prize list Class Information in order to enter (unless specified as OPEN). - Experienced riders may show rookie horses in any class in the Development Series but must indicate this on their entry form and will be judged separately in each class entered - Any horse and rider may show hors concurs in any class but will still be required to fill out the entry form and pay the appropriate class and administration fees. - Competitors may bring additional horses to the show without competing them but will incur a $25 non-competition
fee as well as an office fee for each horse. - EC and/or AEF membership numbers are not required. Show Office Hours: - Questions, comments and entries can be sent to kendravl@hotmail.com anytime. - All competitors MUST check in at the show office on arrival. - The horse show office will be open Friday evening prior to show for early haul-ins from 5pm to 7pm. Anyone arriving outside those times MUST make arrangements in advance to ensure MLM staff is onsite to greet you. - The horse show office will open on show morning at 7am and stay open until 1 hour after the last class finishes. Warm up & Schooling: - A warm up ring will be open at all times from Friday evening throughout the show. Please follow busy warm up ring etiquette to guarantee safety of all horses and riders. - Development Series & Indoor shows will not have designated schooling times in the show ring however riders hauling in on Friday evening may purchase a $10 schooling ticket to allow them access to the show rings for the evening. - Trainers and coaches are encouraged to assist competitors while in the show ring to ensure a positive learning experience while showing at MLM. Dress & Turnout: - All riders are expected to dress in a presentable and respectable fashion with tidy hair, tucked in polo shirts,
etc. - Horses should be clean, and free of manure stains and debris. - Breeches, boots and safety approved helmets are mandatory. - Sun screen and raincoats are essential! - Hunt coats and braiding are optional, but never hurt! Presentations: - We will offer ribbons to 5th place in all classes. All participants in lead line or 7 & under divisions will receive participation ribbons. - Dressage shows will no longer offer ribbons, but will provide prizes to all riders scoring over 50% when tests are returned. Prizes offered depend on score. - Presentations will occur after each flat class, and after each poles or over fences division. - Sponsor prizes or prize money will be distributed depending on availability and cash/prizes offered. Stabling: - Indoor guest barn and main barn stabling is available on a first come, first serve basis. All come with soft stall mats, and automatic waterers (bring buckets just incase). - Portable stalls will be provided when required. - Please book stabling well in advance to confirm space. - Indoor stalls are $35/night, or $25 for day stabling only.
- Portable stalls are $45/night (or $40/night if booked for 2 nights or more), or $35 for day stabling only. - First night shavings included, additional shavings available for $5/wheelbarrow (or $8/bag when available). - Hay is only available as a last resort! $7/bale timothy, or alfalfa mix. Parking: - All competitors, spectators, trailers and RV s will be directed to park in the large grass field directly west of the driveway. - Alternate parking arrangements on gravel may be offered in rainy/muddy conditions. - Competitors may tie horses to trailers as long as it is safe to do so. - Larger trailers unable to make the turn into the field can be accommodated at other areas around the farm. Please check in at the show office for direction. Accommodations: - Tenting and RV parking is available on site. Power hook ups can be made available at a cost of $25/night. Arrangements must be made with the show manager in advance. - Many hotels are available within 20 minutes of the barn on Stony Plain Road between Anthony Henday and 170 Street. - MLM will provide a full service concession at larger events - Snacks, water and pop are available at our on site vending machines when concession is not available.
- We encourage all guests to bring plenty of snacks and water with them. - Many food services are available within 10 minutes of the barn. Please ask at our show office for directions. Spectators: - Spectators are always welcome and it is free to watch! Bring a lawn chair to guarantee a seat. - All visitors will be expected to abide by all MLM rules and posted signs to ensure their safety.

Two different hunter courses at a height not to exceed 18. Entry Fee: $25/class, $75/division -Working Hunter #1 -Working Hunter #2 Handy Hunter 2 0, 2 3, 2 6, 2 9 & 3 0 Open Hunter Divisions: Open to all age groups and rider levels. Two different basic hunter courses per division not to exceed height specified. Entry Fee: $25/class, $75/division -Working Hunter -Working Hunter Stake -Handy Hunter Jumpers: 2 3, 2 6, 2 9, 3 0, 3 3 & 3 6 Open Jumper Divisions: Open to all age groups and rider levels. Three different jumper style classes per division not to exceed height
specified. Entry Fee: $25/class, $75/division -Table A, immediate jump off -Power & Speed -Speed Stake Development Series: Age Divisions: A - 7 & under B - 8 to 12 C - 13 to 17 D - 18 & up Rookie Horses: Rookie horses with experienced riders may enter any classes in the appropriate age division and will be judged separately in the class. Please indicate Rookie Horse on entry form. Walk/Trot Division: Offered for age groups A through D. Basic flat class designed for new riders of specific ages limited to walking and trotting. Equitation classes will focus on rider ability and horse control. Pleasure classes will focus on rider and horse partnership skills and relaxation and confidence. Riders may not enter the lead line class to be fair to less experienced riders in that class. Entry Fee: $15 per class -Walk/Trot Equitation
-Walk/Trot Pleasure CLASS INFORMATION Undersaddle Division: Offered for age groups A/B (combined), C and D. Basic flat class open to specified riders. Includes walk, trot and canter. Equitation classes will focus on rider ability and horse control. Pleasure classes will focus on rider and horse partnership skills and relaxation and confidence. Riders may not enter the lead line or walk/trot flat classes to be fair to less experienced riders in those classes. Entry Fee: $15 per class -Undersaddle Equitation -Undersaddle Equitation Lead Line Walk/Trot Class: Offered for age group A only. Intended for new riders who are not yet able to go off on their own but still want to come have some fun showing! Competitors may not enter any off lead classes. Entry Fee: $10 Follow the Leader Challenge Open to all age groups and mixed groups allowed, but limited to developing riders, not rookie horses. Teams of four will ride the Cadora Walk/Trot A Test in a follow-the-leader fashion. Riders judged as a group. Entry Fee: $20 per rider Poles Division: Offered for age groups A/B (combined), C and D. Two classes consisting of the same basic working hunter course
laid out with standards and poles on the ground. Designed for new riders or young horses looking for experience in the hunter ring but are not yet ready to jump anything more than poles. Riders (except on rookie horses) may not have previously competed in a level higher than crossrails to be fair to less experienced riders in the division. Entry Fee: $20 per class -Working Hunter #1 -Working Hunter #2 (same course) Crossrails Division: Offered for age groups A/B/C (combined), and D. Three different basic hunter courses at a height not to exceed 18. Riders may not have previously competed in a level higher than 2 3 to be fair to less experienced riders in the class. Entry Fee: $20 per class ($60 per division) -Working Hunter #1 -Working Hunter #2
Sunday Dressage: Movember Benefits INFORMATION Cadora test of choice (visit www.cadora.ca). Open to all age groups and rider levels. Other tests may be ridden unjudged, entry fees still apply. Westen Dressage test: WDAA We are now offering WESTERN DRESSAGE. All western
dressage riders will be contacted 2 week prior to the show with tests. Entry Fee: $25 per test Riders may select their tests and ride times on a white board at the show. Instead of ribbons, all tests scoring 50% or higher will receive a prize when they retrieve their test from the show office as follows: 5th place prize - 50-55% 4th place prize - 55-60% 3rd place prize - 60-65% 2th place prize - 65-70% 1st place prize - 70%+ We Look Forward to Seeing Everyone at our Last Show of the Season!
