Notes: Éire Óg/Young Irelands was an amalgamation of Drumlish & Ballinamuck teams, which preceded Fr. Manning Gaels. Since both are Drumlish/Ballinamuck amalgamations, their titles are therefore counted together. Clonbroney Camlin Rovers later reformed to become Sean Connollys.

The Leader Cup result is correct, but neither team competed in the 1942 championship final. Clonguish actually beat Sean Connollys in championship first round in 1942. 1927 - Final played May 27th 1928. Due to poor weather conditions Longford Wanderers were unable to field and Drumlish were awarded the title. 1926 - There was no Championship played in this year. Round 1 of the 1925 League fixed for Oct- Nov 1925. Third Round fixtures down for Apr 1926 and round 4 fixtures down for May 1926. Further League fixtures take place in June. The report for 27th June 1926 calls it the League- Championship Final between Granard and Mullinalaghta - which was abandoned after violent scenes erupted.
6 1923 There was no Championship played in this year. A meeting was held on 4th November to arrange League draws. Round 1 was played on 18th and 25th November. Round 2 took place between Jan - Feb 1924. Round 3 in March. No further games held until County Board meeting on 08th Sep. Round 4 games took place in Sep-Oct 1924. A meeting was held on Oct 12 to arrange League semi final fixtures. In Oct Clonguish and Edgeworthstown were due to play. Both have the same points. The sides must have drawn as they were due to replay in December. It is down as semi final of South Longford League-Championship 1923. A fixture is noted on 08th March 1925 for both teams as 5th round of League-Championship, which links to the previous rounds. A meeting held on 17th May 1925 fixes the 1923 League semi between Clonguish and Longford for 07th June and winners to play Ballinamuck in final. Longford overcame an objection and were due to Ballinamuck in the League Final on 27th Sep 1925. A preview notes it as Championship. Longford won and an article the following week called it the Championship. Longford Juniors run to the final between May 1924 and July 1925 may have been the reason for the delays. 1922 - There was no Championship played in this year. Round 1 of League played 26th February 1922. Further rounds take place on 5th Mar, 26th Mar, 6th Aug, 13th Aug. Delays may be due to civil war. On 23rd April 1923 a preview to a Longford - Clonguish game notes it as 1922 League semi final. Longford won and played Ballinamuck on 29th April in what was noted as the League- Championship Final. Longford won 0-6 to 0-0. Report called it County Championship as did County Board notes. 1919 Actual newspaper reports from 1919 shows that Clonbroney beat Killoe in a replay to win the 1919 Championship. Clonguish had previously been credited with the 1919 title in Longford GAA records, however they won the League-Championship title in 1919 (different competition run on a league basis) and not the Championship proper. 1917 Previous records show 1917 final was contested by Clonbroney and Killoe. This is incorrect; these two teams contested the 1919 Championship Final. No Championship was played in 1917 with newspaper reports at the time carrying the following official notice Owing to the somewhat disturbed state of the country, all football fixtures are postponed until further notice. 1915 This final was actually played in July 1916. 1914 A Championship began in May 1914 but was never finished. In the initial rounds Granard beat Killoe and Edgeworthstown beat Rathcline. The next rounds (Edgeworthstown v Ardagh and Granard v Clonguish) were never played. 1913 This final went to a replay and was actually played in April 1914. 1911/1912 In 1911, Killoe advanced to the 2 nd round over Columbkille without any game being played. Columbkille objected and Co. Board Chairman Paddy Hagan refused to put forward the motion and as a result was asked to resign, which he refused to do. Killoe advanced to the semifinal and beat Drumlish 0-1 to 0-0. Clonguish and Edgeworthstown refused to play the other semifinal (reason not known) and the newspapers of the day state that Killoe were awarded the 1911 Championship. However Clonguish and Edgeworthstown played a championship semi-final in February 1912, with Edgeworthstown advancing to the final in March 1912 where Killoe defeated them. The associated match report credits Killoe with therefore winning the 1912 Championship however it is more likely that this was the abandoned semi-final from 1911 (from a few months earlier) which was re-fixed and played, with Killoe then beating Edgeworthstown in the delayed 1911 final. Records however are inconclusive on this point but the most likely outcome is that this was the 1911 title played in 1912 rather than two separate championships. 1904 - Three scorelines for this year. Final was played on April 23rd 1905 - Longford Leo Caseys beat Killoe Young Emmets in Championship final. The Longford Leader have it as 5-1 to 0-1.
7 Roscommon Herald report states 2-7 to 0-1. Longford Journal states 2-9 to 0-1 and refers to them as Killoe Emmets. 1896 - Previous records claim that Longford Shamrocks won the 1896 Final. However Leo Kenny wrote in 1987 that there was no county board in existence in 1896 and no official competitions. The match involving Longford Shamrocks and Granard in 1896, which has previously been cited as the Championship Final, was actually an arranged game between two clubs. There was no cup/medals and owing to the lack of any official GAA structure or County Board in the county it was not an official Championship title. No Competition Newspaper and historic archives show that there was no Senior Football Championship played or completed in the years 1891-1903, 1906, 1908-1910, 1912, 1914, 1916-1918 and 1921-1926. Research Colm and John Devaney researched the above records and provided them to the Longford County Board in October 2013.
