The AVP has added a brand new stop to the tour this 2018 season, which comes as a delight to both fans and athletes alike. The last time the AVP was in Hawaii was in 2005, and we could not be more excited to be back! This is an international invitational that will bring the top male and female beach athletes in the world to the Honolulu. Along with fierce competition, the AVP is bringing the beach festival experience to the warm sands of Waikiki. Paired with the Invitational we will also have the King of the Court competition taking place on Friday, September 14. The long time training drill has been transformed into a 4-part professional competition series. Event stops include Utrecht, NED, Antwerp, BEL, Honolulu, USA, and Huntington Beach, USA. FRIDAY - KING OF THE COURT The King of the Court Crown Series is bringing the sport of beach volleyball to the sand in a brand new way. How it works: There are multiple teams on 1 court. The challenger team plays to get onto the King s side of the court, which is the only way to earn points before time expires. The team who earns the least amount of points on the King s side is eliminated. In the final rounds the team who reaches 15 points first is coined the King of the Court. SATURDAY/SUNDAY AVP HAWAII INVITATIONAL The 2018 Hawaii Invitational consists of a double-elimination tournament made up of 8 teams per gender- 4 international teams through invitation, 2 AVP teams through qualification, and 2 AVP teams through invitation. The 2 AVP teams (per gender) will receive an invitation based on their best finished in two/three 2018 AVP Gold Series events.

AVPFirst Youth Clinic Wednesday 9/12 4-6 PM In addition to the AVP Hawaii Invitational action, AVPFirst presents a special Community Corner Clinic, partnering with Spike and Serve Volleyball Club founded by fellow Hawaii native, six time AVP Champion, and Olympian Kevin Wong. Wong will also call the AVP action on NBCSN. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 12 on Queen s Surf Beach where pros will volunteer to coach 150 underprivileged and military kids. Sunday will highlight two top junior matches on stadium court.
