HOW TO MAKE YOUR ENTRY CLOSING DATE : 16 APRIL 2018 1. HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW ENTRIES - As a requirement of our affiliation to Horse of the Year Show, entries to these classes MUST be made on a separate entry form and a Royal Cheshire County Show entry form or via our online facility. Forms must be completed fully or they will be returned to you. 2. Online - Entries and payments can now be processed online. Please visit the website at www.royalcheshireshow.org 3. Mandatory Payment towards Medical Cover In line with other shows each exhibitor must pay a 3 contribution towards medical cover. 4. One Entry Form to be completed per OWNER please. Additional forms are available on our website at www.royalcheshireshow.org or by telephoning 01565 650200, alternatively they can be photocopied if necessary. 5. Please provide as much information as possible. Write clearly in block capitals. If society registration numbers are requested to comply with class requirements, then they MUST be listed. 6. Before returning your entries ensure you retain a copy for your records. 7. Entry Fees will be accepted by cheque and credit card in Sterling only. Post-dated cheques will be returned. Please do not send cash through the post. ENTRIES WILL BE VOID AND RETURNED IF ANY CHEQUES ARE DISHONOURED. 8. ENTRIES DELIVERED BY HAND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE OFFICE AFTER 7.00 PM, PLEASE NOTE: a) Under no circumstances can an entry be moved from one class to another, or substitutions made (please refer to Show Rules). b) Tickets, exhibit numbers and passes will be sent to the name and address on the Entry Form in May. TICKET ALLOCATION Ticket allocation is entirely dependent on the number of horses entered and not the number of entries made and they will be allocated as follows. Please purchase any additional tickets you may require. DISCOUNTED TICKETS are available if purchased at the time of making your entry. PRIZE MONEY Prize vouchers will be issued with rosettes in the ring and prize money can be collected from the ICE PLC cash point located by the main ring on Show days. Alternatively prize vouchers can be sent to the Show Office before 31 July. Prize vouchers received after this date will not be paid out. Prize money will not automatically be issued without a prize card voucher being sent to the Show Office. Other additional payments will be issued by the Show Office within 8 weeks of the Show. HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW CUDDY SUPREME IN-HAND CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 To be judged on Wednesday 20 June in Ring 7 following the Welsh Championships Timing to be announced (approximately 2.30-3.00 pm) Judge : Mr A Elliott, Leominster Chief Steward : Mr Mike Daley Special H136 Champion will receive THE BERNARD WETHERILL CHALLENGE CUP No 218 and a Champion Sash and Rosette. The following class is a qualifier for the Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship, NEC Birmingham - 3rd-7th October 2018. The objective of the competition is to find the supreme light horse or pony in-hand champion of the year, irrespective of breed or type (excluding heavy horses). The Champion horse or pony from the following classes will be eligible to compete, provided it has not already won a qualifying round in 2018. The Champions of each of the following The Royal Cheshire County Show classes are invited to enter this class. CUDDY WORKING HUNTER OF THE YEAR In the Working Hunter of the Year Class, the highest placed unqualified horse in the first three will qualify to enter at Horse of the Year Show. Fences should have a natural appearance and not be easily dislodged. No un-numbered obstacle can be included in the course. The manner of going to be taken into account. No change of rider or tack will be allowed (unless a horse is ridden under side saddle, in which case, in order to allow the judge to ride, the saddle may be changed for the riding phase only). A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider allowed). A skull cap or hat and safety harness according to the current approved BSI or European Standard must be worn by ALL competitors in the jumping phase of Working Hunter classes. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover. No hind boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collecting ring, warm up or in the actual class. On completion of the jumping phase ALL CLEAR ROUNDS and any other horses the judges may require, should be asked to return to the ring. If a horse positively stops, ceases to go forwards at any time during its jumping round, or turns its quarters to a fence, or has a complete turnaround, these constitute refusals. If a horse jumps an incorrect fence it will be eliminated. Horses displaying continued disobedience or horses leaving the ring whether mounted or dismounted will be eliminated. No individual show is required, but the judge may ask small groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. This competition is open to mares and geldings, four years old or over, that must be registered with the British Show Horse Association. All Riders, Owners and Producers must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day Ticket with the British Show Horse Association. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. Classes (22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31) are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd-7th October 2018. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified, then the second will qualify. If the first and second are already qualified, then the third will go forward and so forth to fifth place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. In accordance with the BSHA rules the annual BSHA Horse of the Year Show fee of 15 must have been paid to BSHA before the entry is made if the exhibitor wishes to qualify. The BSHA Horse of the Year Show fee cannot be paid in retrospect. This fee is not the Horse of the Year Show levy, which goes to Grandstand Media Ltd. The three highest placed prize winners in each Open Affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show in September 2018. The BSHA offer a Novice Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse and HOYS Hunter classes). The Association will award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open Cob (light and heavy weight only) classes; these rosettes have been kindly sponsored by TSG, Mr L Turley. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year. Day Tickets Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice classes only. It will not allow entry into Horse of the Year Show qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form, or apply online on the BSHA website. IDHS (GB) - Special Incentive Cards The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed Irish Draught Pure Bred or Irish Draught Sport Horse, in the following Classes 24-31. To be eligible exhibits must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) on their Irish Draught Breed Registers or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers. Registration numbers to be stated on entry form. Blue Chip and IDHS (GB) 2,000 Challenge This show is a Qualifier for the Blue Chip & Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) 2,000 Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of the following classes 24-31 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, ie with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) 2,000 Challenge. Horses need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championship which will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 19th 20th August 2018 at Arena UK, Allington, Grantham, Lincolnshire. ARAB RIDDEN CLASSES The BACS qualifier is open to registered Pure-bred Arabian Stallions, Mares & Geldings, four years and over to be judged as ridden horses. NB: Novices are eligible. The highest placed, previously unqualified horse in the first six can qualify and the exhibitor must produce their card at the end of the class and request that it be signed by the Judge. THIS IS A HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW QUALIFIER, NEC, Birmingham, 3rd-7th October 2018. This competition is for Ridden Purebred Arabians. Owners of qualified horses must be members of the Arab Horse Society and the horse registered in their owner s name. The first and second prize winners from each section will qualify for the championship. The qualifying horse will be the highest placed horse, previously unqualified, exhibit within the Championship of the mare, stallion and gelding sections. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. If a rider has qualified more than one horse, that rider will be allowed, if they wish, to exchange horses and ride each horse for its individual display. A groom is allowed into the ring to hold the horse whilst it is not being ridden. The exhibit must not have previously qualified and must have an AHS Q Card displaying the name of the horse. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.
