Please refer to R7 manual for detailed instruction. All the lifeboat release and retrieval steps must comply with the standard regulation of drilling and inspection.

Assemble LBIP foundation & Assemble Lifting beam 1 Carry out on shore a Set LBIP foundation in aft or fore side of ship. (safe working area, do not in the way of loading progress) Settle two endless strips. a (S.E.A.T. can provide) Carry out on shore a b measurement Check the distance between release hooks Settle the electronic scales a and blocks b on the hooks (the electronic scale is optional)
Prepare for launching Lower down lifeboat Release the hooks 2 Carry out on parent ship Prepare of launching procedure by standard regulation. Check is fitted. Lower down lifeboat by standard regulation. Carry out on parent ship Remove, release the hooks. (off-load release) Carry out the inspection for davit and winch on board
Operate the lifeboat out of the parent ship and reach to the port. Reset the hooks 3 a Settle the lifting beam scale to 0, if fit) a on the crane truck. (return the PORT Operate the lifeboat out of the parent ship and reach to port next to LBIP. Reset the hooks, lower down the lifting beam to connect hooks and blocks. Fit.
Lift up from sea Settle lifeboat on LBIP foundation 4 1M Lift up the lifting beam. The lifeboat is out of water. (record the weight by scale, if fit) b a Put the lifeboat on LBIP foundation until the keel reaches to the cushion a, stop and keep the height. Settle and adjust the 2 endless strips b till tight, lower down the lifeboat again till it full sits on the foundation. (endless strips should hold the bottom side of lifeboat)
Modify or replace release and retrieval system Assemble the top structure of LBIP Fit R7 and scale on lifting beam 5 Modify or Replace Modify or Replace Modify or replace release and retrieval system to comply with MSC.1392 and latest LSA code, then go on next step. Assemble 4 main columns and fix them. Assemble supports and horizontal beams R7 R7 Lift the lifting beam up by crane. Fit R7 on two end sides of lugs toward next to scale lugs. Lift the lifting beam and connect with the foundation and fix them.
Use R7 to lift up lifeboat (simulate to be out of sea water and carry out on-load test) 9 9 reset the hooks R7 Connect R7-Lifter with hook lugs. Lift up lifeboat simultaneously for aft and fore hooks till the R7-Lifter in unit 9. Reset the blocks back to hooks. (the gap between blocks and hooks should be 1 cm. 1CM tight up No more adjustment before finish the inspection.) Tight up 2 endless strips again. Release R7. The lifeboat weight is taken over by hooks and blocks.
Use R7 to lift up lifeboat (simulate to be out of sea water and carry out on-load test) 7 turn off after release R7 Check the pressure of cushion and endless strips. (check from the scale, if fit, the load should be loaded by hooks) 1st empty lifeboat test R7 release the pressure R7 Lift up R7 to unit (1 cm between blocks and hooks), turn on the shut-off valve to turn the accumulator on. The weigh is loading by hooks. Release the lifeboat.
1st empty lifeboat test Load to 100% load weight.(refer to MSC.1392 appendix 1.1)- www.seattools.com/download 8 reset the hooks R7 turn off turn on turn on Turn off the shut-off valve. Lift up lifeboat and reset the hooks. Release R7. The weight returns to hooks, then turn on the shut-off valve to reset the hydraulic pressure. Put s or water s to 100% load weight.
Carry out 100% on-load test 9 100 % 9 2.1 Ton R7 (Get the total weight from scale, if fit.) R7 release the pressure R7 Lift up lifeboat till R7 in unit.(1 cm between blocks and hooks)(the scale weight turns from 100% to 0%, if fit) Turn on the shut-off valve in accumulator.(the scale weight turns from 0% to 100%, if fit) The lifeboat is loaded by blocks. Release the lifeboat hooks.(pull the release handle and check if it is in good condition simultaneously release)
Carry out 100% on-load test 10 reset the hooks R7 turn off turn on turn on After release, turn off the shut-off valve in accumulator. Lift up lifeboat and reset hooks. After reset, turn the shut-off valve on to release fully R7 pressure. Repeat the step for 2 to 50 times to inspect the condition of LRRS and make detailed record. R7 R7
Disassemble hooks. Check and record the wearing.(refer to MSC.1392 appendix 1.2)- www.seattools.com/download 11 R7 and ag and ag disassemble Turn the scale off. Lifeboat is sitting on LBIP foundation. Release hooks and put R7 aside. Disassemble hook assembly to the ground for cleaning, maintaining and recording. Reassemble hooks. Carry out enclosed hook test for 110% load weight Add load to 110% load weight. put 10 %
Carry out enclosed hook test for 110% load weight. (refer to MSC.1392 appendix 1.3)- www.seattools.com/download 12 reset the hooks R7 turn on Turn the scale on. Re-connect R7 and hooks in aft and fore side. Lift up lifeboat by R7-Lifter for reset hooks, then release R7-lifter after reset. R7 1CM Lift up lifeboat again till R7 in unit. (1 cm between blocks and hooks) (Scale shows 0, if fit) Put blocks back to hooks to reset condition. Disconnect the release cables.
Carry out enclosed hook test for 110% load weight. 13 0~10(S) R7 slowly turn on Slowly turn on the check valve to make R7 down. (According requirement of MSC.1392, it should take 10 second for 110% load test in order to look over the condition of hooks.) (Scale turns from 0% to 110%) R7 turn off after release 2~10(Times) After reset, turn the check valve on to release fully R7 pressure. Repeat the step for 2 to 10 times to inspect the condition of LRRS and make detailed record.
Carry out the actuation force test of release handle.(refer to MSC.1392 appendix 1.4)- www.seattools.com/download 14 remove 10 % R7 Reduce 10% load weight to 100% When R7 lifter is in unit, re-connect the release cables. turn on 24 kg (Scale shows 0) turn on the shut-off valve. (The scale weight turns from 0% to 100%) Put the RH50 on release handle. Pull the release handle and record the actuation force shows on RH50. Check if the hooks released smoothly and simultaneously.
Operate lifeboat back to parent ship and carry out brake test for 110% load 15 DAVIT & WINCH maintenance and inspection put 10 % Carry out davit and winch maintenance and inspection. 1. Add 10% load weight to 110%. R7 2. Turn the scale off. Lifeboat is sitting in the foundation. Release the hooks, remove the blocks and reset the hooks. Remove R7. 3. Disassemble top parts of LBIP and foundation beam. 4. Disassemble supports and 4 main column.
Operate lifeboat back to parent ship and carry out dynamic brake test for 110% load 1 5. Fully reset hooks. Lower down lifting beam. Lift lifeboat to water. Remove and release hooks. 7. Start lifeboat engine and operate lifeboat back to parent ship. Reset hooks and fit. 110 % 8. Lower down embarkation ladder. All persons go back to ship by rope ladder. 9. The lifeboat is empty. Carry out dynamic brake test for 110% load.
Remove s or water s. 17 1. Persons go to lifeboat by embarkation ladder. Remove and release hooks. Operate lifeboat to port. 2. Fully reset hooks. Lower down the lifting beam. Connect blocks and hooks. Fit. 3. Lift lifeboat to LBIP foundation. 4. Remove s or water s. Recover lifeboat back to parent ship. Disassemble LBIP. Finish all 5-year inspection and MSC.1392 one-time follow-up overhaul examination
