PAGE 4 THE CHATTERBOX House and Committee 2018 As we approach the end of the Pinehaven 2018 golf season, we are reflecting on the experience we have had with our new caterer Marla and Brian Ortega, the Illium Bistro. From all that we have heard from members and those of the general public, we hit the jackpot in recruiting Marla and Brian. Sure there have been some missteps, but overall most members agree that we finally have a caterer who is providing food and beverage service in the manner that we can be proud of and enjoy. Marla is finishing the first year of a three year contract with Pinehaven. We all hoped that she would be successful and she has. From what she has told us, she has enjoyed her time at Pinehaven. Marla is an extremely enthusiastic person who wants to satisfy the membership. She is always thinking about how to serve the membership: e.g. Grab & Go dinners; creative specials; well trained and very accommodating wait staff. Not only does she want us to enjoy our everyday food and beverage experience, but she is intent on making Pinehaven a social destination beyond just golf. In addition to the social experiences the club offered this past year, Marla, on her own, tried to excite us with the pig roast, and the Frank Sinatra dinner show, both unique to us at Pinehaven. Unfortunately neither were well attended by many members for whatever reason. We hope to turn that around in 2019. The club will partner with Marla in an effort to put together exciting social events that will appeal to the majority of the membership. In order to make them attractive to the membership, we need to hear from you as to what kinds of social events you would like, and most importantly, will attend. Please send your ideas to Scott Warren via email. We want to make 2019 a social year to remember, and most importantly, we want to be sure Marla is supported in her efforts to give us the best experience possible. Mark your calendar: Friday November 9 we have scheduled an interactive trivia night. We did this a couple of years ago with a very lively and funny MC, Chad Koenig. Marla will be providing a buffet dinner. Watch for details. Snowbird minimum deferral will be available this year. If qualified, submit your form to Karen in the Business Office ASAP. * Please take note of the fall hours of operation beginning October 1 for the club house and the snack shack found within this Chatterbox. Marla will be modifying her menus for the fall as well. They will be implemented soon. Hours of Operation * Snack Shack will be open weekends only in October * The Clubhouse Food and Beverage will be closed on Tuesday October 9th * Beginning the week of October 22nd the Clubhouse Food and Beverage will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays * Beginning the week of November 5th the Clubhouse Food and Beverage will be open Thursday thru Sunday
