Date: 4 th January 2018 Happy New Year to all. I m sure 2018 will be a good golfing year, when it dries up. The New Years Eve celebrations went very well at the club. Ian put on an excellent spread and The Cavalier Jazzmen(a group of exprofessional jazz players who have played previously at Ronnie Scotts, The Concorde club and Jazz venues around the world.) got people up and dancing. The bar staff kept everyone happy. All in all, a very good evening - Thank you all who joined in and helped. Thank you also to Pam Capon for helping to decorate the room. The next event I am involved with is my Curry Demonstration and buffet supper. This will be held at the club on Friday 16th February starting at 6.30pm. Date: 15 th December 2017 Ladies Christmas 12-Hole & Lunch 2017 Tuesday 12 th December Due to icy conditions, we ended up playing 9 holes, with half the field. Kevin Glass managed to open the course with trolleys at 10am, much to the relief of the Ladies. Good golfing, interesting putting! 62 members attended to the Christmas lunch. This included social members and associated Members. It was a chance to mingle with the friendly ladies. Sally Cross and Margaret Porteus manned the produce stall and Mary Hayter organised the quiz and a wager game. 99.80 was raised for my charity Leukaemia Busters. Jeanette Cording said a grace in rhyme and Judy gave an outline of the success of the introduction of the Colt course, blue tees, in form of a poem. As you can see from the picture it was a very enjoyable day thanks to the catering and bar staff.
