Cowtown Bowmen once again shines as one of the best clubs as far as our members giving their time to make us a success. We had 18 volunteers show up for the work party which made quick work of the set up. This resulted in a wonderfully set up course that almost 100 shooters enjoyed on Sunday and helped us sign up over 60 members on Sunday alone. Special thanks to all of those that helped: Eddie, Truman, and Tomtom Woodward Mike Gunner Geoff Klein John Parker Terry Webb Bryan Sharp Bob Combest Joe Crawford Chuck, Robert and Charles Hubbard Kevin Hubbard Rocky Doty Jeff McCoy Jeff Pyron Jason Case Thank you all very much and if I missed someone please accept my apologies.

MONTHLY MEETING CHANGED TO THIRD MONDAY We have moved our monthly meeting to the third Monday of every month as our meeting location, Spring Creek BBQ in Lake Worth has been having Thursday as their busiest day of the week. Starting Monday, Feb. 20 th, 2012, our club meeting will be held on the third Monday of the month. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a club officer. 3D PRACTICE RANGE IS ON THE MOVE We are working on finding a more permanent home for our 3D Practice Range so that we no longer have to take it down when we have some of the bugger shoots [Trad shoots with 50 targets and ASA with 2 x 30 target courses]. We will make sure to let everyone know of the new location, with map once it has been set up and is ready to use. CROSSBOWS & COWTOWN With the change in the TWPD regulation regarding crossbows concerning hunting, and the inclusion of them at the national level in ASA competition, Cowtown Bowmen is considering allowing their use at our facility. There has been a number of calls asking if we allow them, and with the growth that market of Archery is experiencing it is certainly something we may consider. We have confirmed with the target manufacturers that crossbow arrows do no more damage to their targets than traditional or compound bows. If this is something we move forward on, please keep an eye out for updated Range Safety Rules to clearly spell out how these items will be allowed to be used at our facility. The Club Officers will be discussing this issue at the Monday, Feb. 20 th, 2012 meeting, so if you would like to show up to voice your opinion, please do. If you cannot make it, please contact a Club Officer and they will be sure to bring your comments to the meeting.
