WESTERN HERITAGE RODEO DAYS ROYALTY CONTEST APPLICATION AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT is made between Oak Grove Youth Rodeo Club Western Heritage Rodeo Days Royalty Contest, hereinafter referred to as Royalty Contest, and, residing in, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as Contestant. WITNESETH: Whereas, the Oak Grove Youth Rodeo Club, hereinafter referred to as OGYRC, conducts the Royalty Contest including the creation, Publication and administration of all rules and regulations relating thereto, and Whereas, Contestant desires to compete in the Royalty Contest. Now, Therefore, in consideration of the mutual promises set forth herein, the mutual benefits derived herefrom and other good and valuable consideration provided each unto the other, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged by delivery hereof, it is agreed: 1. Contestant certifies that she has never been married, pregnant or given birth to a child. Contestant has never been charged and/or determined to have committed any crime of moral turpitude nor has she had a title removed for any reason. A background check my be run to verify criminal history. 2. Contestant hereby grants permission to the OGYRC to verify any and all information contained on her application and attests that the information she has provided is true. 3. Contestant hereby releases the OGYRC of all responsibility in case of injury or loss to person or property involving her or persons related to her while appearing in the Royalty Contest. The aforesaid also applies to persons related to Contestant. 4. Contestant certifies that she is a legal resident of the State of Missouri. 5. Contestant hereby releases title, claim and rights to photographs and/or public relations material involving her or her likeness to the OGYRC for use in Royalty Contest promotion. 6. In the event Contestant receives a Western Heritage Rodeo Days Royalty title, she will complete the tenure of the title in accordance with the aforesaid regulations and in the best interest of the Oak Grove Youth Rodeo Club and/or Western Heritage Rodeo Days Royalty; and will relinquish all claims and accouterments relating to the title upon the naming of her successor. 7. Contestant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless OGYRC, Royalty Contest and all rodeo committees, their officers, agents or employees from and against all loss of expense by reason of liability imposed by law for damages due to bodily injury. This includes death at any time resulting from/or sustained by any person or persons and/or damages to property, including loss of use thereof arising out of/or in damage to property due to any negligence. 8. Contestant represents she: a) has read all Royalty Contest rules and regulations; b) has received a complete copy of all Royalty Contest rules and regulations; c) has otherwise been fully advised as to any and all written and/or verbal amendments, if any to Royalty Contest rules and/or regulations; d) understands each and every rule and/or regulation and; e) had full opportunity to present all questions regarding the rules and regulations, and all such questions have been fully answered. 9. Contestant agrees that Royalty Contest Committee is the sole and exclusive entity to determine the existence and/or nonexistence of a violation of the rules and regulations, and that Contestant shall be finally bound by Royalty Contest Committee s determination, the same to be final and binding between the parties hereto. Interview This portion of the competition will be worth 20 points. You will be judged on the following criteria: Overall appearance Posture Conversation ability Knowledge of rodeo Knowledge of current events Knowledge of horse anatomy Manners The interview process will take place once all of the speeches have been given. Each contestant will privately speak with the judges for 5-7 minutes. The girls will wear the same outfits in which their speeches were given and will go in the same order. Please take this time to tell the judges about yourself and let them get to know you!
Speech The speech portion of the competition will be worth 30 points. You will be judged based upon the following criteria: Time requirement met Overall pace Overall presentation Enthusiasm Ability to communicate clearly Posture Volume level Organization/Memorization During this portion of the competition girls will be required to wear jeans, button down long sleeve shirts of their choice, boots, and a cowboy hat. Horsemanship The horsemanship portion of the competition will be worth 50 points. You will be judged based upon the following criteria: Control Posture Ability to complete pattern correctly Physical appearance Tack For this portion of the competition, girls must wear western jeans, boots, a plain white button up western shirt, and a cowboy hat. Use the simplicity of your clothing the shine light on your riding abilities! We will draw names again for order and this portion will take place once all the interviews have ended. Please have your horses ready to go when your name is called and don t forget to SMILE!
