2017 ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE OF NZ MISSION STATEMENT: The Rotax Max Challenge of New Zealand is conducted to meet the following objectives: To provide a National Series that determines which Drivers will qualify to receive a Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals invitation. To provide a National Series that gives Competitors experience for International competition in Rotax Classes. To promote Karting as a sport to be enjoyed as a participant, an official and as a spectator. To create a KartSport platform that is attractive to Competitors and sponsors and that enhances the aims and objectives of KartSport New Zealand to grow and develop the sport of Karting. The conduct of the Series Events within each Meeting should be the benchmark for quality in Karting administration, officiating, promotion and operation of race meetings. PROMOTER: The ROTAX MAX Challenge is organised by authorised Promoters in each country. The NZRMC Promoter is NZ Rotax Max Challenge Ltd. Principal: Richard Bethune. Ph 09-274 0800. email: info@rightkarts.co.nz SERIES OVERALL PRIZES: Drivers, who qualify via their respective national ROTAX MAX Challenge, in the following classes may be invited by the ROTAX Kart Centre to the Grand Finals of the ROTAX MAX Challenge to be held 4th - 11th November 2017 at Kartodromo Internacional Do Algarve, Portimao, Portugal. 1 st placed Rotax Max Junior 1 st placed Rotax Max Light 1 st and 2 nd placed Rotax DD2 1 st and 2 nd placed Rotax DD2 Masters Highest placed Rotax DD2 Super Master (50+ years) in the Rotax DD2 Masters classification (subject to a minimum of 10 Super Masters series entries at the closing date for series entries). IMPORTANT NOTE: THE NUMBER OF INVITED DRIVERS TO THE ROTAX MAX GRAND FINALS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE, AT SHORT NOTICE, BEFORE OR AFTER THE REGISTRATION DATE. A trackside podium prize giving will be held at each Round for the first three drivers in each class in the Finals. To be eligible, competitors must have competed at 7 of the 8 rounds. Further Series Prizes will be announced prior to the first round. PRODUCT PRIZES: Product prizes will be presented at the final Round Prize giving at Hamilton. To be able to collect a product prize competitors must have contested 7 of the 8 Rounds. There will also be product and/or cash prizes drawn at each round Series trophies will be presented to 1 st to 6 th place in each class Round trophies will be presented to 1 st to 3 rd place in each class ADVERTISING: By registering for the NZRMC competitors confirm that the Rotax Kart Centre, NZ Rotax Max Challenge, KartSport New Zealand and any sponsors, may use any photographs, including names of drivers for advertising publicity and public relation purposes. All drivers have right to access and correction of this information. This consent is given in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.!2

KartSport New Zealand Permit Number 1722SP NEW ZEALAND ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE 2017 SUPPLEMENTARY RULES STATUS OF THE CHALLENGE: The New Zealand Rotax Max Challenge (NZRMC) will be run as a series of Group E events, sanctioned by KartSport New Zealand. The NZRMC Rounds will be held at KartSport facilities in New Zealand, as per the Entry Form, and as such are subject to any further Supplementary Rules that the host clubs may have pertaining to their round. GENERAL RULES: For the NZRMC the Regulations, Codes, Rules and Specifications of KartSport New Zealand are in force as are the Supplementary Rules published by host Clubs and these rules published by the Rotax Kart Centre and the Promoter." Where circumstances arise which are not, or are alleged not, to be provided for in the rules of the NZRMC, they shall be determined by a joint decision between the KartSport New Zealand Competitions Manager and one or both of the Promoter and the Rotax Kart Centre. NZRMC CLASSES & ROUNDS: ROTAX MAX JUNIOR ROTAX MAX LIGHT ROTAX MAX DD2 ROTAX MAX DD2 MASTERS (Driver must turn 32 or older during 2017 The highest placed ROTAX MAX DD2 SUPER MASTER (Driver must turn 50 or older during 2017) (Minimum of 10 series entrants required by closing date) will also be recognised). Round 1-18 February KartSport Manawatu (Anti Clockwise) Round 2-19 February KartSport Manawatu (Anti Clockwise) Round 3-18 March KartSport Bay of Plenty Round 4-19 March KartSport Bay of Plenty Round 5-20 May KartSport Rotorua Round 6-21 May KartSport Rotorua Round 7-12 August KartSport Hamilton Round 8-13 August KartSport Hamilton There will be no oversubscribed classes. Only the first 32 entries per class (or combined classes) will be accepted. Rotax Max DD2 Masters and Rotax Max DD2 "Super Masters" shall be combined on track. The last 2 rounds of the NZRMC will be hosted by KartSport Hamilton. The NZRMC Series Prize giving will be held at the conclusion of technical inspection on Sunday 13 August 2017. ENTRY & PROMOTIONAL FORMS: All NZRMC competitors must complete the Series and Rounds Entry Form together with the Promotion Sheet and pay the respective Rounds entry fee of $200 per weekend (two Rounds) by the appropriate date(s). Only those drivers who have registered for the NZRMC will be able to compete in Rounds of the NZRMC. There will be no charge for a tent/trailer site and/or a practice fee, this has been included within the Round entry fee. Practice at the host facility is prohibited Monday-Thursday inclusive, the week prior to the respective Rounds. SERIES & ROUND ENTRY FEE: For 2017, the NZRMC Series Overall entry fee for all classes is $500.00. Payable no later than 1 st February 2017. Round Only & Product Prize Eligibility Series Entry Fees will decrease throughout the series. Round 3 or 4 = $400. Round 5 or 6 = $300. Round 7 or 8 = $150. Any competitor entering the Series after Round 6 must grid up rear of field in the Heats, but will take up earned positions for the Pre-final and Final. Payment (or proof of) must accompany the Entry Form.!3

INTERNATIONAL LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: Drivers competing at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals must obtain a CIK-FIA International C Licence from KartSport New Zealand. These will only be issued to NZ resident drivers holding a KartSport New Zealand Tier 1 Sprint rating. Selected drivers are required to have an International C Licence, ASN Visa, current passport and any country visa s, etc. required to travel to the host country. To be eligible to compete at the senior RMCGF the driver(s) must have had their 15 th birthday during 2017. To be eligible to compete at the Junior RMCGF, Junior drivers must have had at least their 13 th birthday during 2017 and not have had their 16 th birthday before 31-12-2017. DD2 Master must turn 32 or older during 2017 to qualify. DD2 Super Master must turn 50 or older during 2017 to qualify. ELIGIBILITY: The Series is open to drivers with a KartSport New Zealand Licence with a minimum Tier 2 Sprint rating or Karting Australia Licence holders with a valid Trans-Tasman Visa A or B, KA Sprint rating. All competitors will be eligible for series overall trophies and prizes with the exception of the RMCGF invitations. RMCGF invitations will only be extended to NZ resident competitors holding a KartSport New Zealand licence. For clarity, once series results are finalised the best placed KartSport New Zealand Licence holders only are eligible for the RMCGF invitation. EVENT FORMAT: As per KartSport New Zealand Manual including National & Island Sprint Format P1.2- P1.12, unless otherwise specified within these Supplementary Rules In the event of a total timing equipment failure at following Round grids for the Heats will be based on Series points to date. NOTE: A race weekend consists of two separate Rounds, i.e. Round 1 & 2 are contested at KartSport Manawatu and each day (Saturday & Sunday) are treated as a separate Round. RACE DISTANCE: Each round will be contested over 1 x 8min qualifying, 2 Heats, a Pre Final and Final Heats: 10 km Pre-Final: 12 km. Final: 16 km. The Promoter and the Host Club, depending on time restrictions, may amend these distances in consultation with the Clerk of Course and always with the final approval of the Chief Steward of the event. The Chief Steward s decision is final. SERIES POINTS All Classes: Exclusion From Pre-Final, Final and/or as a result of Technical Inspection. No NZRMC Points awarded. Ties - E.g. 1 st equal: both get 53.5 points. Where competitors are tied on points at the end of the NZRMC Series, ties will be decided as follows: Winner of the most Round Finals wins. If still equal, the competitor who finished in front in the Final at Round 8 wins. If still equal, by a decision made in accordance with General Rules above. POINTS SYSTEM: Pre-Final Points: 36, 35, 34, 33-1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th, etc place. Non-starters in the Pre-Final will be awarded NZRMC points equal to last place, minus one (-1) Final Points: 55, 52, 50, 49, 48, - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4 th, 5th, etc place. Non-starters in the Final will be awarded NZRMC points equal to last place, minus one (-1) Bonus Point Round: At Rounds 7 & 8 the competitors best result from either of the 2 days Pre-Finals & Finals shall score double points. E.G.10 th and 8 th Saturday and 6th & 15 th Sunday would see Sunday s Pre-Final 6 th and Saturday Final 8 th being the scores doubled. SERIES OVERALL RESULTS - All Classes: A Competitor in all Classes can compete in a total of 16 point scoring races (8 x Pre-Finals & 8 x Finals) in the Series, however, only their 7 highest scoring Pre-Final results and 7 highest scoring Final results will be used to calculate their overall Series results.!4

ROUND CANCELLATION IN PART OR IN FULL: Prior to the Pre-Final the Round will be abandoned and no points awarded. In this case the overall series will be determined by the best Pre-final and Final scoring races from 6 of the 7 remaining Rounds. Should there be more than 1 Round abandoned then the Series will be decided by the best 5 from 6 Rounds, or best 4 from 5 etc. After the Pre-Final but before the Final, then Pre-Final points only will be awarded and the Round will count towards the overall result. In any situation where only some and not all classes are affected by the above, this will be applied only to the classes affected. TECHNICAL & CHASSIS REGULATIONS As per KartSport New Zealand Rules and Specifications unless noted below: 1. NZRMC ROTAX MAX JUNIOR KART SPECIFICATIONS: As per KartSport New Zealand Rules. Dry tyre: MOJO D2. Wet tyre: as per KartSport New Zealand Rules. 2. NZRMC ROTAX MAX LIGHT KART SPECIFICATIONS: As per KartSport New Zealand Rules. Dry tyre: MOJO D3. Wet tyre: As per KartSport New Zealand Rules. 3. NZRMC ROTAX MAX DD2, DD2 Masters/Super Masters KART SPECIFICATIONS: As per KartSport New Zealand Rules. Dry tyre: MOJO D3. Wet tyre: Mojo W2 or W3 (W3 introduction date TBC). TYRES All Mojo tyres are barcoded with their source of original export destination. KartSport New Zealand Officials reserve the right to scan any and all tyres at any stage of the event. Only those tyres sourced via the official New Zealand Mojo supplier will be allowed in practice or competition. Competitors found to be utilising tyres which have not been imported into New Zealand by the official New Zealand Mojo supplier will be in breach of these Supplementary Rules and subject to penalty(s) (ref Rule C9.3).!5

KartSport New Zealand Permit Number 1722SP OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM FOR THE 2017 NZRMC Series and Rounds THIS ENTRY FORM MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL, AND PAYMENT ENCLOSED OR ENTRY WILL BE INVALIDATED. This is to certify that I the undersigned, submit this Entry Form to be complete in the 2017 NZRMC Series and Rounds. I understand and accept submission of this Entry Form constitutes an agreement with the promoter and the host Clubs to take part in the above Series and respective Rounds. I certify that the particulars supplied on this Entry Form are true and correct in every particular. INDEMNIFICATION I understand and accept as a condition of entry that the FIA-CIK, Motorsport New Zealand, KartSport New Zealand, New Zealand Rotax Max Challenge, KartSport Manawatu, KartSport Bay of Plenty, KartSport Rotorua, KartSport Hamilton and their respective district councils or city councils, all sponsors and all other members, officials or assistants of any of the above named and or known organisations, or their respective servants, officials, representatives, or agents shall not be under any liability what so ever for any death or injury, loss or damage which may be sustained or incurred as a result of my participation in the race meeting or event, howsoever such death or body injury, loss or damage is caused not withstanding that such death, injury, loss or damage may have been contributed to or caused by the negligence of the inviting club or KartSport New Zealand or any of their respective officials, Promoters, servants, representatives or agents or by any other person. DECLARATION I declare I have a current KartSport New Zealand Competition Licence with a rating applicable to the class entered. (Ratings will not be valid unless they have been dated 10 days prior to the start of the event.) I declare I am conversant with and will abide by all current KartSport New Zealand rules, regulations, codes and specifications governing kart racing, and that I will abide by any supplementary rules which apply and the directions and rulings of the Chief Steward of the day without losing my right to protest or appeal. I declare that I have no medical condition that may impede my ability to drive a kart in competition or practice. I declare that my kart and driving apparel will comply with all current KartSport New Zealand Rules and Specifications throughout this event. I declare that should I at the time of this event be suffering from any disability of any kind whether permanent or temporary which is likely to detrimentally affect my control of my kart or my fitness to drive, I will not participate. I declare that I will not make use of drugs or of prohibited methods such as are defined by the Intoxicating Liquor and Drug regulations of KartSport New Zealand. I declare that I give consent to the details contained on this entry form being held by KartSport New Zealand and/or the Organising Club for the purpose of the promotion and benefit of the event/series concerned, and KartSport in general.
