6 THE VALDEZ POOL Pool Supervisor: WENDY CLUBB 835-5429 Looking for the pool? You ll find it conveniently located behind the Valdez High School, 319 Robe River Drive. Please park IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL IN THE JUNIOR HIGH PARKING LOT! In the event of an emergency we NEED to have open access for rescue vehicles. It is also unsafe for our pool patrons when the roadway is crowded with vehicles. IS BACK! Friday Evenings in January and February* 7:30-8:30pm Must be 10 yrs and older or bring a responsible adult with you in the water! *No Inflate-A-Swim on February 10th WINTER BREAK! Look for Open Swims during the school s Winter break in December! Be sure to check out the Pool s monthly calendar! Please remember: when visiting the Valdez Pool children ages 7 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or responsible caregiver 16 years of age or older. 8 TOWN NORDIC SKI RACE SERIES Sponsored by the Valdez High School Ski Team and Parks & Recreation RACE ONE SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2011 Registration begins at 9:45am at the Betty Cato Bridge 5K classic race or 7K skate race $10 entry fee or $20 per family MIGHTY MITES! MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and SATURDAY 9:30-11:00am at the TEEN CENTER Drop in play group time for children ages 0-4 and their parent/caregiver. No advanced sign up required. The cost is $1 per child per day (children under 12 months are free). All children must be accompanied by an adult; parents are required to supervise their children; violent behavior is not allowed. A great chance for parents and children to socialize! For more information pick up a copy of the Mighty Mites Newsletter at the Parks and Rec Office. NOTE: There will be NO Mighty Mites on Saturday, Dec. 10th.
