GENERAL OPERATING WARNINGS This unit is designed to supply continuous flow of air. Never dead end the hose or use accessories that stop the free flow of air. Damage to the unit can occur. Only use the air compressor in an upright position. This product should never be left unattended during use. Never allow children to operate this compressor. This compressor may become HOT during operation. Do not touch the compressor with bare hands other than the battery clamps or the On/Off switch during and immediately after use. Do not use this product near open flames or flammable fumes. Use only in a well ventilated area. Always wear approved safety glasses with side shields when operating the compressor; particulate matter, such as sand and bulldust, can be stirred up by compressed air, and may gain entry to the eye, and cause a medical problem Risk of Burns: the compressor will become hot during operation; gloves should be worn to prevent burns. Risk to Breathing: the compressor is not designed as a source of breathable air, and should never be used as a source of breathable air. Risk of Electrical Shock: the compressor is designed for use in dry conditions only. Risk of Falling: the compressor will vibrate during use; ensure it is operated at ground level on at level surface, to prevent the possibility of the compressor falling during operation. Risk of Fire: the unit will become hot during use; allow to cool before storage Risk of Bursting: do not exceed the tyre manufacturer s maximum air pressure, which can be found on the side wall of the tyre being inflated. DO NOT modify: never drill, modify or attempt repair of the unit; there are not serviceable parts inside. Safe handling: carry the compressor by its handle; do not attempt to carry be either the air delivery hose of the power supply cables and battery clamps. 6
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Manufacturer s speed rating on tyres is only applicable when tyres are inflated to manufacturer s specification. In an off road situation, tyres are frequently deflated to cope with challenging conditions. In these situations, the tyre speed rating is no longer applicable and the vehicle should be driven with caution. Driving with excessive speed on a partially deflated tyre could cause the tyre to dislodge from the wheel rim. Important the tyre be correctly inflated when returning to the black top, before resuming normal driving speed. Never make sharp turns whilst driving with reduced tyre pressure. Only use the supplied heat resistant pressure extension hose. If a replacement is required, contact the customer service team on 1300 883104. COMPRESSOR OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The air compressor must only be operated with the operator in attendance; do not leave the air compressor unattended. Before using, first check the unit and air hose for any visible signs of damage; if no damage visible, proceed as indicated below. Attach air hose to compressor by way of quick coupler, as shown in Fig. 1. FIG. 1 Ensure the on/off switch is in the off position. Connect the red alligator battery clamp to the positive [red] battery terminal, connect the black alligator battery clamp clip to the negative [black] battery terminal. Ensure the electrical cord is fully extended; no part should remain coiled up as this will lead to unwanted and potentially damaging heat build up. Important to leave the engine running during the period the compressor is running to avoid the possibility of flattening the vehicle battery. Activate the on switch and ensure air is being supplied. Attach the air delivery hose the tyre valve stem with the compressor running. The attachment mechanism allows air to escape whilst the nozzle is being attached; finger tighten only. 7
Pump to the desired pressure; if above the desired pressure, push the deflator collar towards the valve stem, which will allow air to escape. Remove the air hose, check with an independent pressure gauge to ensure the correct pressure has been attained. Repeat this process for all remaining tyres which require inflation. At the completion of the inflation process, activate the off switch on the air compressor [the compressor will stop] and remove the alligator clips from the battery terminals. Allow the compressor to cool. Remove the air delivery hose from the compressor [as shown in Fig. 2], being careful when engaging the quick FIG. 2 release collar as the collar will become hot during normal operation of the compressor. Only when satisfied the compressor has cooled sufficiently, pack in the storage bag, and resume your journey. CARE AND MAINTENANCE We recommend that only qualified persons perform maintenance and servicing on the air compressor. Note: Always unplug or shut down your compressor before attempting any type of maintenance. Wait for compressor to cool before servicing. Ensure the unit has been switched off and has cooled down completely before cleaning. Never immerse this unit in water. Simply wipe down with a soft cloth. DISPOSAL Please consider when disposing of electronic products such as an air compressor that some components can be recycled and recovered for re-use. DO NOT attempt to dissemble any electronic product unless you are a trained electronics technician. Many councils hold e-waste (electronic waste) collections. Contact your nearest council to enquire about the best method of disposal in your area. 8
