SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WARNING: For personal safety and the safety of others please read and fully understand these safety instructions before operating your compressor. Failure to do so could cause personal injury or damage to your equipment. Do not exceed recommended pressure at any time, or leave unit unattended while in operation. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Operation Please use extreme caution when connecting the compressor to 12 volt power sources as car batteries can vent explosive gases. Avoid connections that could produce a spark. The compressor is permanently lubricated during assembly. Do not add oil or any other lubricant to the unit. There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit. Do not disassemble. The unit will become very hot during use. Please use caution to avoid burns. Keep the compressor out of reach of small children. You must allow the unit to cool after 30 minutes of continuous operation before restarting. Damage can occur from continued overuse. The use of work gloves and safety glasses is recommended when operating the compressor. When the compressor is inflating a tyre the gauge will over-read. To obtain an accurate pressure reading, release the trigger on the hand piece. Generally the inline gauge will then provide a reading that is within the accuracy of service station gauges. To obtain a truly accurate tyre pressure, slightly overinflate the tyre, then measure and deflate to correct pressure using a gauge that is known to be accurate and in good condition. This is especially important when low tyre pressure accuracy is required in soft sandy conditions. Only inflate tyres to the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Do not over inflate as tyre failure or serious injury could occur. The compressor is fitted with a sand tray. This tray is designed to allow the compressor to rest on sand or dirt and will assist in keeping the pump and motor free of dust and sand. Clean compressor with a damp cloth only. Do not use chemicals or soap. IMPORTANT: Only hold the unit by the carry handle and allow the unit to cool before storing. Ensure good ventilation around compressor if permanently mounted. GETTING STARTED Thank you for purchasing your Thunder Compressor. Your compressor will give you many years of reliable service if you follow the instructions covered in this handbook. Before using your compressor it is important to familiarise yourself with how it works and pay particular attention to the safety information. Do not use the unit for pumping, compressing or transferring any gas or liquid other than air. The unit is not designed for use as a source of breathable air. The compressor motor is 12 volt DC. The compressor's unloaded air flow is 150L/min. Maximum working time: 30 mins @ 40PSI. Maximum recommended continuous operating time is 30 minutes. Getting Started 5

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE 1. Place the compressor on the air tank and secure with the supplied quick connect bolts. 2. Connect compressor to tank using supplied hose. 3. Connect 2 pin plug to pressure switch. 4. Sit on a flat level surface for portable operation or secure in a vehicle, ensuring the compressor is in a well ventilated area. 5. Connect red clip directly to positive terminal of 12 volt battery and black clip to negative. If permanent mounting we recommend engaging a qualified auto electrician to install a 50 amp circuit breaker inline. 6. Turn the switch to Air Tank and the compressor will fill the air tank to volume before turning itself off when it reaches capacity. 7. Alternatively you can use the air compressor separate of the tank by turning the switch to Compressor. 8. Connect the air hose to the digital pressure gauge and then to the air tank. 9. Connect the digital pressure gauge to the tyre by screwing the brass inflator onto the tyre valve stem. Make sure to only tighten finger tight. Do not use tools to tighten as this may damage the inflator or valve stem. NOTE: The gauge can also be used to deflate the tyre. 10. Holding the trigger in on the tyre gauge will allow air to flow into the tyre, to check to see how inflated the tyre is let go of the trigger and the gauge will return a true reading of tyre pressure. Please note once you start inflating your tyre it is normal for the compressor to start and keep the tank filled up. 11. Once your tyre has reached the desired pressure remove the gauge from the valve stem and remember to replace the valve stem cover. 12. The compressor motor is fitted with a special air filter (refer image below) located on the top of the cylinder. If the compressor is being used in a dusty or sandy environment the filter should be checked regularly, at least every five hours of operation. The filter element can be accessed easily by removing the top cover of the cylinder. Always remove the element with care. Wash with a mild detergent and shake off excess moisture then leave to dry before replacing. Note: A replacement air filter element is included. 13. Reassemble filter. Replacement filter elements can be made using similar material and original as template. IMPORTANT: The compressor will get extremely hot during and after prolonged use. If moving the compressor after use we recommend only using the carry handle. If the unit is installed in a vehicle, ensure it has adequate ventilation and is out of the reach of children. 6 Operation and Maintenance

SEPARATING THE COMPRESSOR 1. Disconnect the plug from the wiring harness to the pressure switch. 2. Disconnect the metal hose from the tank so that the compressor is no longer attached. 3. Place the compressor somewhere it can safely cool down. OVERHEATING AND CIRCUIT PROTECTION The compressor is equipped with inbuilt automatic thermal overload and circuit breaker protection devices. In the event the unit reaches an unsafe operating temperature or current, the protection devices will cut the power off automatically to prevent damage to the motor. If the unit should shut off automatically during operation, do not attempt to restart compressor. Turn the power switch to the OFF position, immediately disconnect the unit from the power source and allow it to properly cool. The unit will cool in approximately 20 minutes, depending on environmental conditions. Once cooled press the reset button and turn the power switch to the ON position to resume operation. High altitude and certain air temperatures can negatively affect the unit's performance. Separating the Compressor, Overheating and Circuit Protection 7
