Field Lay-out

Who Won? Keep score after each round to turn training into a competition! Name Station 1 Station 2 Station 3 Station 4 Station 5 Station 6 Total Pts

Station 1 Juggling Techniques

Station 1: Juggling Individual Skill Development Progression (one player / one ball) 1 juggle and catch alternate feet. (goal = 4 in a row w/out a drop) 2 juggles and catch alternate feet. (goal = 4 in a row w/out a drop) 3 juggles and catch alternate feet. (goal = 4 in a row w/out a drop) 4 juggles and catch alternate feet. (goal = 4 in a row w/out a drop) Partner Skill Contests (one ball / two players) Pair up two players for team competition. Players should be 4-10 yards apart, depending on ability and age. How many successful repetitions per team in the time allowed (60-90 seconds)? Volley (from hands) to partner (catch). Thigh pass to partner (catch). Thigh juggle and volley (laces / inside) to partner (catch). Thigh juggle and head to partner (catch). Instep juggle and volley (laces / inside) to partner (catch). Self-header and instep pass to partner (catch).

Station 1: Juggling Continuous Juggling Using any body part, except the thighs, how many juggles without a drop?

Station 2 2v2+1 To Two Small Goals

Station 2: 2v2+1 to two small goals Field: 25 yds x 16 yds Goals 2 yds wide All games are 1- touch finishing. Round 1: Other than when scoring or restarting the game, players must use the sole of the foot (i.e., stop/roll/pass/drag) at least once during each possession. 4-minute rounds. Round 2: Other than when scoring or restarting the game, players must use the little toe/outside of the foot (i.e., dribble, control, turn, pass) at least once during each possession. 4-minute rounds. Round3: 2v2 (no adult) free play. 2-minute rounds.

Station 3 Passing and Receiving Techniques

Station 1: Juggling

Station 3: Modified Soccer Tennis (Passing & Receiving) Boxes: 6 yds square Distance between boxes varies with ability and size. Basic idea: The ball is passed back and forth between the boxes until one team makes a mistake. Points are awarded when the following rules are broken. The ball must enter and leave through the front door (front two cones). A ball rolling out of the box is still in play. The ball must be kept in motion. With younger players, both must touch the ball on each possession. With more experienced players, each player has only one touch per possession and each team has a maximum of three touches per side, per possession. When the ball is passed between the boxes in the air, the ball must bounce at least once before reaching the front door. When a point is scored, the ball is put into play as quickly as possible with a pass (serve) by either team. Tactically, players should position front and back within their box, rather than stand side by side.

Station 4 Dribbling Skills

Station 4: Dribbling Ladders Field: 20 yds between goals and 16-20 yds between fields. Goals: 2 yds wide. Pass through the goal to score. Assign one team to the outside goals and the other to the inside goals. The inside team will rotate after each 60-second round. Rotating players start with the ball. Start the game clock (60 seconds) when the last game begins. There are no sidelines. Corner kicks (not taken) score half a goal.

Station 5 Heading Techniques

Station 5: Heading Goals: 5-6 yds wide and 5-10 yds apart, depending on ability and age. Match up players for competition. Rotate players to new opponents every 2-3 minutes. Goals are scored by heading past the opposing GK. Older players can self-serve. Younger players may require coach-serve tosses.

Station 6 2v2 w/ GK s To Two Large Goals

Station 6: 2v2 to two goals with GK s Field: 30 yds x 16 yds Goals: 6-8 yds wide depending on players age. Regular soccer game to big goals with goalkeepers. Older players use offside lines 10 yards from each goal Two points for 1-touch finishing Corner kicks (not taken) count half a goal. Kick-ins from the side. GK restarts the game after each goal. Rotate teams (or players within a field) after each 90-second round.
