Butcher cows and butcher bulls were the order of the day and traded strong in all classes. Dave Kidson started our feeder trade that was light in numbers, his 550 lb fancy Hereford hfrs hit 207.50 and his 790 lb Hereford hfrs notched 171.00. J&J Cattle Company s, 1940 lb butcher bulls powered to 118.25, they also had 1380 lb Butcher Cows that marked 96.25. Len & Marvin Tonn, from Kelowna, had 670lb strs roll to 206.00 along with 1413 lb butcher Cows selling to 96.50 and 1205 lb cows trading at 97.00. Jim Gooch from Tappen saw their Black Angus hfrs top 179.00. Bernadine Bykerk pushed the Bull trade with a 2135 lb bull at 119.50. Johanna Spalteholz, from Salmon Arm, had some excellent cow / calf pairs. The young Black Angus cows with early born calves traded up to 2600.00 per pair, their 915 lb Black Angus Hfrs marked 165.00. The Hiwan Ranch brought young Feeder Bulls, at 1430 lbs, that reached 130.00. The Scuitto Creek Ranch had 848 lb strs that saw 196.00, their pen of 758 lb steers notched 204.00 and their 610 lb hfrs hit 209.00. Rainer Krumsiek had 845 lb Red Angus strs trade to 188.00 and 680 lb hfrs reach 190.00. The Elkink Ranch from Cawston had a liner load of Butcher Cows. 22 head of their 1280 lb Butcher cows marked 97.50, the younger end of cows 1042 lb cows traded to 111.50.
