NEWS FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER It is hard to believe it is a new year already. This past year seems to have gone by quickly. With each new year comes new beginnings and new happenings around the Club. I am excited for where we can go in 2018! I know there is some speculation about what is going to happen with MeadowBrook in the coming year. I have met with our new owners; they are committed to MeadowBrook, and it will remain open through 2018 and hopefully beyond. I am confident that our membership will continue to support our beloved club in making 2018 the best year yet! Our Tournament Committee, with the help of our Head Professional, Damon, have worked hard to get our golf calendar complete for 2018. will resume in January, and we will continue the You Deserve To Be Happy campaign where we will be drawing names for prizes such as 1 month of free carts, $100 credit, and many more. Remember, you must be at the s to be eligible to win! When you attend the Friday Night Dinners you will be entered to win a free month s dues. I am excited about the upcoming year and all that it has to bring. I welcome ideas for events or something you would like to see at the Club. My goal is to always give the members what they want. So if you have any ideas, please let me know. I would like to thank all the outgoing Board Members for their time on the Board. Being on the Board takes time and commitment and having to make tough decisions. Thank you! Chris Ferguson Lucky #3159 Page 3
NEWS FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT Dear Members, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year. The maintenance staff and myself are looking forward to providing the playing conditions that you expect for 2018. We were fortunate in 2017 to receive timely rains that kept the course hydrated and prevented us from purchasing water from the City of Tulsa. Our goal for 2018 is to keep improving turf conditions at MeadowBrook, which is one of the best designed courses in Oklahoma (in my opinion). We appreciate your patience during aerification and other cultural practices throughout the year, which are so vital to the health and playability of our turf. Thank you for your continued support. See you on the course, Jason NEWS FROM THE HEAD GOLF PRO Dear Members, I want to thank you all for the last six months. You have welcomed me with open arms. I am looking forward to a great 2018 season. We will start with the Match Play Qualifier on March 10th and the MGA St. Paddy Day Scramble on March 17th. Thursday Night Men s League will start on April 12th and the MeadowLark will be June 7th -9th. Ladies will also have a full year of exciting tournaments; the Sunshine Tournament will be on April 17th and April 24th, and as of now the Birdies at the Brook Invitational will be May 1st. Ladies play will be on Tuesdays for 18 Holers and Wednesdays for the 9 Holers. We will also be honored to host this year s WOGA Ladies State Championship July 23rd 26th. So as you can see we have a great first half of the year! With that being said, this is the time of the year to make sure the golf course stays in great shape. Please abide by the cart rules (pair up when possible, stay 30 yards away from the greens, go 90 degrees - not drive down the middle of the fairway to get to your ball). You will not notice it now but you will when the weather becomes warmer and the grass grows in. We will start having calendars in the Pro Shop starting in February so you know what is happening in the upcoming months. Thank you all for the support and Happy Holidays! Damon Salisbury Page 4
