LEROY (Inflatable Dinghy) Float Plan There is a float plan form inside the clubhouse hanging in front of the kitchen counter. Fill it out before leaving the float. Don t forget to fill out your return time when returning. Air Check firmness of pontoons and floor If necessary, get pump from RBC storeroom and inflate (Adapters?) 3
There are two pontoon air filler valves, one for each. There are also two air filler valves for the floor. 4
Yamaha Engine Gasoline If necessary, fill the engine tank from the fuel can kept in the blue box on the port side of the clubhouse DO NOT Add preservative 5
Controls for operating engine Starting o Lower engine to vertical by lifting release lever on starboard, rear of engine while pulling the engine towards you then releasing. o Lower steering/throttle arm to horizontal 6
o Turn on gas valve (pointing to starboard) o Open air vent on gas cap (counterclockwise) 7
o Pull out choke o Set throttle to start position 8
o Affix emergency shutoff key o Set Transmission to neutral (straight up) o Pull cord o When started, push in choke, set throttle to idle o Cast off bowline making sure to stow it inside the dinghy to prevent fouling. o Put transmission in gear ( rotate clockwise to forward position) (there is no reverse on this engine) 9
Stopping o Transmission to neutral just before arrival o Pull emergency shutoff key after tie- off o Turn off Gasoline valve (toward rear) o Close air valve (clockwise) o Replace emergency shutoff key and Raise steering/throttle arm to vertical. o Pull engine forward to lift prop clear of water until engine clicks into position. Tie- Off Leroy should be docked in position 1 of the port side RBC float. Make sure the bowline is properly secured to the rail. 10
Maintenance Contact the Sailing Director if any problems are found that you cannot resolve. 11
ROCKY Gasoline Check level of gas in the fuel can below the seat on the starboard side and refill if necessary Add additive Engine Controls Starting o Lower engine to vertical o Lower steering/throttle arm to horizontal o Check gas level in engine and, if necessary, fill it from fuel can below seat on starboard side Be SURE to cap the can before returning it below deck o Turn on gas valve 12
o o Open air vent on gas cap (counterclockwise) o Pull out choke 13
o o Set throttle to start position o Affix emergency shutoff key o Transmission to neutral (Up) o Pull cord o When started, return choke, set throttle to idle 14
o Put transmission in gear (Forward) Stopping o Transmission to neutral (up) just before arrival, reduce throttle to idle. o Pull emergency shutoff key after tie- off o Turn off gasoline valve. (To starboard) o Close air valve (Turn clockwise) o Replace Emergency shutoff key and raise steering/throttle arm to vertical. o Pull engine forward to lift prop clear of water until engine clicks into position. Sails Main Leaving o Remove Tiller tiedown and stow o Remove Cover and stow below o Remove the Main Ties o Remove Boom Support o Fully Loosen the Main Sheet o Hoist the Main Returning o Drop the Main o Replace Boom Support o Tighten Main Sheet o Flake the Main o Reattach the Main Ties o Reattach the Main Cover o Tie down tiller Jib Unfurling o Release the Jib sheets o Release the Jib furling line o Pull the Lee Jib sheet until fully unfurled Furling o Release the Jib sheets 15
o Furl the Jib while tensioning a Jib Sheet and pulling on the furling line Mooring line Leaving Rotate and slide open the chock Gate to free the mooring line Un- secure the mooring line leaving it looped over the cleat Pull Leroy s bowline through the bow pulpit and securely attach to the eye of the mooring line. Cast the Mast Buoy through the bow pulpit into the water Start the engine or raise the sails to be ready to leave. Be sure Leroy and the two buoys are all on the same side of Rocky so as not to foul the lines when leaving. Cast the mooring line and dinghy bowline through the bow pulpit and turn away from the mooring being careful not to foul the lines in the prop. Returning Feed the bowline below the pulpit rail cleat it. Bring aboard the mast buoy in the same fashion. Slide open the bowline gate, insert the bowline and close slide the gate closed. Using small line or the mast buoy line, secure the bowline at the cleat so that it cannot come loose. 16
