Step I Upon arrival, please proceed with your bike, bike helmet and Even Ticket (print out or on phone) to the transition zone. A marshal will check your helmet strap and handlebar end plugs on entry. See Transition for more info on how and where to rack your bike. Step II Once you have racked your bike, please follow the signs to registration at the Leisure Centre. All participants are required to either produce a valid Home Nations Membership License or purchase a Day Membership on race day. Day Membership fee is 5 for seniors, 1 for juniors. After paying for a day license or presenting your BTF membership card, a marshal will hand you a token. STEP III Please proceed to the next registration desk where a marshal will collect your token, body mark you for the swim and hand you your event pack which contains: Two race numbers that are worn during the cycle and run. Please note any medical conditions or allergies on the back. If using a race belt, please display your race numbers back to back to be visible in case the number flips up. A numbered sticker that goes on the front of your head tube. To pick up your bike post event, marshals will check that your sticker matches your race number. No match, no bike. A timing chip and Velcro strap to be worn around your left ankle - this must be worn throughout all 3 disciplines and will need to be handed in at the finish line ( 20 fee for lost chips). Collecting bikes & kit post event: Please note that bike pickup post event is only possible after all competitors have finished the cycling leg or at certain times communicated on event day.

EVENT BRIEFING Mini Tri & Scootathlon: 2:30pm Venue: Finish area (weather permitting) Event briefings are mandatory for all competitors. GETTING CHANGED & STORING KIT Participants have access to dedicated changing facilities at the Leisure Centre from 1:00pm onwards. Please only take the gear you need for the cycle and run leg into the transition zone as space is limited. Unnecessary kit can be stored at registration at your own risk. TRANSITION ZONE Opens at 1pm Always put on and fasten your helmet TIP before taking your bike off the rack Note: No assistance is permitted in the transition area (except for the Scootathlon event where parents are encouraged to help out). Please only enter the transition area where instructed to do so when racking your bike before your start as other competitors will already be racing and we do not want any chips being triggered by mistake. Pre Event Upon arrival, head straight to transition with your bike and bike helmet and present your Event Ticket to the marshals. They will check your helmet strap and handlebar end plugs before you are allowed to rack your bike in the designated area for your wave (wave number sent out by email 3+ days prior to the event). Once you have picked up your event pack at registration, head back to transition and stick your number label to the front of your head tube. To pick up your bike post event, marshals will check that the sticker on your bike matches your race number. No match, no bike. Handy Tips Organise When setting up transition, only take the essentials in with you. This will help you get in and out of transition quicker with minimal fuss and stress! Visualise Transition can often be a busy and sometimes confusing place on event day. Make sure you know your swim exit, bike out & in and run out to help gain those precious seconds! Familiarise yourself with the one-way system and look out for something visual near your bike slot, making it easy to spot when you are running into transition. Prepare Make sure your bike is set up in the right gear. You don t want to be left struggling in the first few meters of the event. Transition Zone Checklists Bike out Is your bike number clearly visible on your back? Have you put on your helmet before unracking your bike? Are you following the one-way system? Are you pushing your bike to the mount line? Bike in Are you pushing your bike from dismount line into transition? Are you following the one-way system into transition? Have you racked your bike where you picked it up from? Run out: Is your run number clearly visible on your front? Are you following the one-way system? Please rack your bike by looping the saddle over the horizontal bar, one bike facing left, next right, etc. and store your kit to the left of your bike (when looking at the rack). Remember, no boxes allowed in transition. A small soft backed backpack is fine but keep your kit to a minimum as space is at a premium. Unnecessary kit can be stored at the bag drop at registration.

SCOOTATHLON Event Start: 2:40pm Distances: 500m Scoot, 500m Bike, 400m Run Map: Interactive Route Maps available in the course maps section on intotri.com/event/mini-lizard The Scootathlon is a fun, non-timed introduction to s Mini Tri events, replacing the traditional swim with a scoot. Participants will be placed in starting waves of 5 according to their age, with waves setting off in 30sec intervals. The Scoot and Bike routes follow a flat, fully tarmacked course on closed roads. Children will complete one lap of the course on their scooter before heading back into the transition zone to pick up their bikes. After cycling one lap, participants drop off their bikes in transition and head out for a 400m run on Wadebridge School s playing field to the finish. Rules Helmets must be worn for all three disciplines We ask that excited parents do not accompany their children around the course as this could cause confusion/danger on the route. However, parents are encouraged to help their children in transition, count laps on the scoot/bike course and assist all kids in distress along the route Please make sure that you bring appropriate clothing for all three disciplines SWIM Time: From 3pm Start Times sent by email 3+ days prior to the event Distances: 8y 50m, 9-10y 100m, 11-12y 150m, 13/14y 200m, 15-16y 400m Note: All age groups as of 31-Dec 2018 Swim Course: 8y-14y Competitors will be placed in starting waves according to their age group and estimated swim time. Starting in the water (strictly no diving), participants will be set off in 15 sec intervals (3 sec countdown), snaking through the pool for their allocated swim distance. Starting on one side of the pool (or the middle, depending on the distance), participants swim up one lane, duck under the lane rope and swim down the next lane, duck under the rope and so forth, exiting the pool on the other side. Note: 11/12y and 13/14y olds will swim each lane twice (up and down) before ducking under the rope. To overtake, tap the feet of the swimmer in front of you and proceed to overtake swiftly on the right. If your feet are being tapped, proceed at your pace staying left and let the faster swimmer pass. Swim Course: 15y-16y Competitors will be placed in starting waves according to their age group and estimated swim time. Starting in the water (strictly no diving), participants share a double lane, swimming side by side and staying on their side of the lane throughout the swim. It is a rolling start with the next swimmer entering the water as soon as a lane becomes available. A float will be placed in the water at the end of the pool when the swimmer has 2 lengths to go. Swim to Bike Transition Please obey the no running rule poolside when leaving the water and exit the pool area via the designated route. A pair of shoes may be placed in a marked area near the exit for your run to transition (on mixed surface). The time will be taken at transition so the run to transition will be included in your swim time. Relay Teams The hand over from swim to bike will be in the transition zone. Bike riders will need to wait to the left hand side of their racked bike. Once the timing chip has been handed over and fastened to the cyclist s ankle, riders can put on their helmet, fasten the straps and un-rack their bike. Swim Rules Start Time: Swimmers must start in their allocated slot. Be at the pool ready to start at least 10 min before your start time. Stroke: Front crawl or breaststroke. Please stay left at all times. There will be marshals at hand at key points along the course; however it is the child s responsibility to know the route. All children will need to complete the appropriate number of laps according to their age before returning to the transition zone to rack their bikes. Please note, it is the child s responsibility to know how many laps they are required to complete and to count them. To assist with lap counting, children will be given a PINK band at the end of each lap, which they should wear around their wrist. Children MUST stop to collect these. The bands will then be counted once they have crossed the finish line to check they have done the appropriate number of laps. Rules Helmets must be worn and fastened at all times when in contact with your bike. It is the parent s responsibility to ensure the roadworthiness of their children s bike. Mount and dismount at designated points and push bike out of/into transition to your allocated slot. Children who do not have the required number of bands will be disqualified for not completing the course. Relay Teams After completing the bike leg, the bike needs to be racked first before the timing chip can be handed over Distances: Lap(s) of 600m Map: Interactive Run Route Map available in the course maps section on intotri.com/event/mini-camel 8y: 1x, 9-10y: 2x, 11-12y: 3x, 13/14y: 4x, 15-16y: 6x Note: All age groups as of 31-Dec 2018 The Course The run route follows a multi lap course onto and around Wadebridge School s sports field. Please note, it is the child s responsibility to know the route they are required to complete. Children will be given a BLUE band after each loop to assist with lap counting, which they should wear around their wrist. The bands will then be counted once they have crossed the finish line to check they have done the appropriate number of laps. Rules Children who do not have the required number of bands will be disqualified for not completing the course. RELAY TEAMS The hand over from swim to bike and bike to run will be in the transition zone. Bike riders will need to wait for the swimmer to the left hand side of their racked bike. Once the timing chip has been handed over and fastened to the cyclist s ankle, riders can put on their helmet, fasten the straps and un-rack their bike. After completing the bike leg, the bike needs to be racked first before the timing chip can be handed over to the waiting runner. POST EVENT & PRIZES Please proceed through the finish arch, keeping the finish area clear for other participants to run in. Make sure you hand in your chip to the marshal as you collect

your well deserved medal. There will be water available at the finish area. Hot and cold drinks, as well as food will be available to purchase. Presentations will be outside near the finish area once the results for an age group have been processed with prizes awarded to the 1st to 3 rd place winner in the boys and girls competition for each age group. The categories will be as follows: 8y, 9-10y, 11-12y, 13-14y, 15-16y A REQUEST FOR YOUR SUPPORT We ask that excited parents do not accompany their children around the course as this could cause confusion and danger on the route. Please see Code of Conduct section for more details. Parents are not allowed to assist their child in any way, whether this means helping them put their trainers on or their t-shirt/vest on. Assistance will result in the disqualification of their child. Marshals will be available throughout the course to give assistance if necessary. Please make sure that you bring appropriate clothing for the weather. In case of severe weather, the event may be reduced to a swim/run.
