Welcome Coaches, Players, Sponsors, & Parents: Kansas City Biddy Basketball Association and the City of Kansas City, Missouri would like to take this opportunity to welcome all coaches, players, parents and followers to the 2018, 12 & 14 Year Old Boys International Biddy Basketball Tournament. We also want to congratulate all the winners from around the country who will join us this weekend. We are pleased to announce this year s tournament and related functions will be held at Staley High School, New Mark Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri. All teams and coaches must arrive in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, March 16, 2018 and report to the Staley High School for team registration, practice time, credentialing, and the coaches meeting. Registration, practice & credential check times will be assigned to the coaches/teams by the tournament director in the weeks leading up to the event. The Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 8:00 AM at Staley High School. The first round of games will start immediately following Opening Ceremonies at Staley High School or New Mark Middle School. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and having a successful tournament. OVERVIEW ARRIVALS All teams must be in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, March 16, 2018 (See CREDENTIAL MEETING for REQUIRED TIME OF ARRIVAL). Teams will be responsible for their own transportation from their point of arrival to Credentials Check gym. TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS Tournament headquarters & games will be at the Staley High School. Tournament games will also be played at New Mark Middle School and (if needed Martin Luther Academy) (addresses in reference section at end of letter). ENTRY FEE An entry fee of $400 needs to be included with your roster of players and team pictures by Thursday, March 12, 2018. If your team does not fulfill its tournament requirements, there will be a $100 fine. Make all checks payable to Kansas City Biddy Basketball Association (KCBBA) - See Rule 19, page 14. CREDENTIAL MEETING All coaches and players must be present for credentials check. It takes place at Staley High School on Friday, March 16, 2018 with a staggered schedule from 11:00 to 4:00. The schedule for team credential checks will be assigned by the Tournament Director in the weeks leading up to the event. COACHES MEETING The coaches meeting for Pool play will be held on Friday at approximately 5:30 P.M. at Staley High School. ALL COACHES MUST BE PRESENT. INDIVIDUAL COMPETITIONS The competitions will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 starting at 7:00 pm at Staley High School. Players participating in any of these events need to be present at 6:45pm for registration and warm-up. No player can compete in more than one competition. The three players participating in these competitions will be identified on the PLAYERS REGISTRATION FOR SPECIAL EVENTS form in the coach's packet. The players will compete in one of the following: Free Throw Around the World Hot Shot OPENING CEREMONIES Official Opening Ceremonies will be held at Staley High School on Saturday, March 17, 2018 beginning at 8:00 am. It is mandatory that all players and coaches report to this site no later than 7:30 am. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR THEIR GAME UNIFORM FOR THE OPENING CEREMONY. TEAM BANNER Please bring your TEAM BANNER with you when you arrive on Friday. COACHES MEETING (bracket play) The coaches and bracket placement will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Staley High School following the conclusion of the last pool play game. ALL COACHES MUST BE PRESENT

General Instructions MEALS The tournament will not be responsible for meals. It is each team s responsibility to provide its own meals. Concessions will be provided at game sites. ADMISSION Admission prices to the tournament games are: ADULTS (13 and older)...$10.00 per day; $30.00 for entire week CHILDREN (6-12)...$8.00 per day; $25.00 for entire week CHILDREN (5 and under) Free GIFT EXCHANGE It is customary for teams to exchange small gifts with the team they are to play. These gifts are usually some remembrance of the area you are from, such as hats, stickers, shirts, etc. Please make sure your team has something for each player they play. Coaches often exchange gifts as well. Remember to bring enough favors so that no team is overlooked. A minimum of 3 games will be played. MEDICAL RELEASE FORM Completion of the official world tournament medical release form is MANDATORY. The form is enclosed and is limited to three players per form. It will otherwise be impossible for players to receive needed medical attention in the event of an emergency (see attached). ITEMS NEEDED PRIOR TO TOURNAMENT 1. Tournament Fee ($400.00) 2. Birth documents or records as specified by Rule 11.01, Paragraph 1 for each of ten (10) tournament team players, plus alternates, with form X. B. Official scorebooks containing records of tournament players, certified by League President, Underline All-Star Players. C. Tournament team rosters certified by League President. D. Regional Director s Letter of Eligibility. E. Check-off list certified and signed by Regional Director, otherwise not eligible. F. These documents must stay in the possession of tournament officials during each tournament level.

Coach s Instructions We at the Kansas City Biddy Basketball Association and the City Of Kansas City have worked hard to make your stay in Kansas City pleasant and rewarding. Therefore, we ask that you cooperate with the following regulations during your tournament stay. ASSISTANCE We want every participant to thoroughly enjoy himself/herself during the tournament. CONDUCT Each coach is responsible for his or her personal conduct on and off the court. No conduct that could be interpreted as detrimental to the basic aims of Biddy Basketball, which is "Building Better Citizenship," will be tolerated. It is apparent; the prime responsibility of the coaches is 24-hour supervision of their players. Carefully brief your players regarding their conduct on and off the court. Any team or individual whose conduct is not above reproach will be disqualified and sent home without delay. Coaches are also responsible for the conduct of their fans as outlined in 20.00 of the Biddy rulebook. Boisterous, rowdy, uncontrollable fans are subject to expulsion. COACH & PLAYER PASSES Passes will be given to each player (maximum 12). A MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) COACHES PASSES will be given to each team. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ADDITIONAL COACHES. UNIFORMS Each player on the same team shall wear a different number on the uniform. The Official Biddy Basketball Emblem is MANDITORY to be worn on the front pants leg. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR THEIR GAME UNIFORM FOR THE OPENING CEREMONY. BASKETBALLS Warm-up balls will be provided before and at the half time of each game. TEAM BANNER Please remember to bring your team banner with you when you arrive on Friday. MISCELLANEOUS Enclosed is a PLAYER/PARENT INSTRUCTION SHEET that outlines players /parents responsibilities, AD SHEETS & a SHORT LIST for everyone s convenience. Coaches, please give copies of these three (3) forms to every player/parent. Player & Parent Instructions We at the Kansas City Biddy Basketball Association and the City of Kansas City, Missouri have worked hard to make your stay in Kansas City pleasant & rewarding. AWARDS There will be NO DISCUSSION regarding ANY TEAM or INDIVIDUAL AWARDS once it s been handed out. NO EXCEPTIONS. SCHEDULE Pool play schedules will be determined at the coaches meeting. Bracket schedules will be determined after pool play. Follow your schedule at all times. Be at Biddy games, and special events on time. Be sure to check with your coach whenever you divert from the listed functions. OUR TOURNAMENT CONTINUES MONDAY THRU WEDNESDAY. ANY ACCOMODATIONS FOR LEAP TESTING WILL BE MADE. APPEARANCE As qualifiers for the International tournament, we expect your dress to be neat. You may, of course, dress informally and comfortably. IDENTIFICATION Players & coaches will receive & must wear their passes at all times. These passes are the only way to enter the gym without paying admission. Please write your child s name & the team s name on the back of each pass. WELCOME COMMITTEE LUNCH Sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be provided for all players and coaches at no charge at Staley High School on Friday, March 16, 2018 during team s credentials. All players & coaches must attend. MOST PARENTS ATTEND. A meal (Lenten if appropriate) will be served for the parents. Tickets for parents meal can be purchased on Friday at a cost of $7.00 each.
