Compete to win the NASS Challenge Trophy whether individually or in teams of four in this enjoyable and fun Personal Development and Team Building weekend. Friday 29 th June Delegates arrive from 17:00 onwards Registration for event Each team will have to register with the event desk on arrival, hence they will receive all of the information, equipment and timings for the weekend Welcome Drinks and Pizza Van Evening Meal Upon arrival the delegates will be served a stone baked pizza from the mobile pizza station and the bar will be open. Full Event Briefing All of the teams will gather and the event organiser will deliver the brief for the coming days challenges, layout and leader board structure Bar closes at 22.30 Saturday 30 th June Rally of Teams for start of the Challenge event After waking up on the shores of Lake Windermere and fuelling up, the teams will gather in the hub ready for the days event Full Day Challenge event Full day challenge outlined on the following page Lunch Bushcraft Challenge All of the teams will meet for the competitive lunch cook off. The NASS Team Challenge event Day 1 (Saturday 30 th June) The main objective is for each team to navigate themselves around the course which will cover the Graythwaite Estate, all the while trying to pick up as many points as possible by completing tasks, finding markers and working together. Each team will be given a team pack including the following essentials items: Map Orienteering Score Card Pencil Flint Wood Resin Emergency Contact Cards Compass Radio Knife Task Time Table Water Map Key The first task for each team will be to plot the six figure grid references as locations on their map. Each location on the map will be either be a marker or a marker with a task. Your overall objective is to score as many points as possible in the time given on the course where points awarded will be directly proportional to the level of success attained by your team. Each Team will have a rigid, non-negotiable time slot for each of the markers with challenges including: RIB Treasure Hunt Bridge Build Canoe Skills River Crossing Cerebral Team Tasks Quad Bike Recovery Trebuchet Catapult Build As the final task all of the teams will meet on the waters edge for a Coracle Raft Build Finale. We will all meet at Grubbins point, a private site located on the shores of Windermere, for your lunchtime challenge. This again will be scored as a timed task; using only the equipment found in your team pack and a set of identical equipment per team you must build a fire and cook your lunch. With only an hour and a half to complete and eat, time is of the essence. After lunch it will be back on task to be the first and best team to complete all the challenges. At the end of the day we will re-group for a debrief of the day and introduce the evening s activities. Then its back to the accommodation to rest, re-coup and recharge for the next days events.
The NASS Team Challenge event Day 2 (Sunday 1 st July) After a long, hard gruelling Day 1 the delegates will be challenged with a rotation of activities which are classic country sports theme. The teams will be divided in to 3 groups and will rotate around three activities. The teams will then compete in smaller competitions at each activity station and the winners of each group coming together for a shoot off finale. After the activities the delegates will make their way back to the hub and accommodation to collect their luggage and lunch before making their way home. The activities will be: 4x4 off road Driving Off-Road Driving is definitely our most popular activity on the Graythwaite Estate. Lumps, bumps and camel humps. Controlled acceleration and axel articulation. Your teams will get behind the steering wheel of one of our Land Rover defenders and take on our very own, professionally built natural off-road course, the only one of its kind with stunning views of Lake Windermere. (Driving License not necessary to take part) Clay Pigeon Shooting Whether you re a complete beginner or an experienced shooter we have a set up that will suit everyone. You ll learn the key techniques of clay pigeon shooting including safety, gun mounting and most importantly how (and when) to pull the trigger. Archery Channel your inner Robin Hood and acquire the ancient skill of archery with one of our recurve target bows. Our qualified and experienced instructor will provide expert tuition for novices and skilled archers alike.
Adventure tent accommodation All delegates would stay on the Graythwaite Estate; 5000 acres of private estate amid extensive woodland on the shores of Lake Windermere. From the arrival on Friday until departure on Sunday the views and location will take your breath away. As you arrive you will drop down on to the camp site taking in this beautiful location. Walking from your tent, take in the outdoors and wildlife which connects you to this fabulous lake; and in the evening, enjoy a well-deserved drink around an open fire with Windermere as a back drop and the water as a calming sound track. The accommodation is split between three main areas: 1. Adventure Tent Accommodation. Fully kitted out for any budding adventurer. 2. Our Event Stretch Tent this will be the event hub and be used as a communal space for dining and entertainment. 3. The site Infrastructure including generators, toilets, showers, lighting etc. We will erect the tents and create views overlooking Lake Windermere so that you can fall asleep to the gentle sound of the water lapping against the shore and wake up to one of the best views imaginable! Keeping every delegate in touch with the outdoors these tents really give you that wild camping feeling but with the benefits of toilets and showers close by!
