The initiative is a part of celebrations planned by the Pakistan High Commission London for the 70th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan this year. Fully wrapped double-decker buses are showcasing the pristine beauty of Pakistan with its highest peaks, beautiful landscape, rare fauna, monuments representing ancient civilization, magnificent architecture and rich and diverse culture. The moving buses are creating unparalleled lasting visual impact on millions of pedestrians and motorists alike, especially on the tourists. The amazingly wrapped buses carrying Pakistan s images have gone viral on social media. Millions are posting images of the buses on social media. High Commissioner hosts Eid-ul-Fitr Open House in London Commissioner to the UK, hosted Eidul-Fitr Open House at his official residence, Pakistan House in London on 25 June 2017, to celebrate the auspicious occasion with the Pakistani community in the UK and friends of Pakistan in the British society. Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Governor Punjab was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. The Governor appreciated High Commissioner s initi- ative to reach out and connect with the community. A large number of guests from all walks of society attended the Open House and were served with traditional Pakistani cuisine. The guests included Mayors, Ambassadors/High Commissioners, Councillors, community leaders, prominent business persons, members of the Pakistani and British society, representatives of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and Department for International Development (DFID), officers from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, officials of the High Commission as well as their families and media representatives. Activities at the Pakistan Consulates Manchester Manchester Day Parade 2017 Manchester Day Parade 2017 President Azad Jammu & Kashmir in Manchester Students from St. Denis School Murree visit Manchester Consulate Bradford Bradford Literature Festival As a part of celebrations of Pakistan s 70th Independence Anniversary celebrations, the Consulate of Pakistan, Bradford took part in Bradford Literature Festival. The Festival continued from 30 June to 10 July 2017. An International Mushaira was arranged with the cooperation of Yorkshire Adabee Forum and Bradford Literature Festival on 30 June 2017. A large number of poets from Pakistan, UK, France and Germany presented their poetry. The event was attended by more than 250 guests and has been widely covered by electronic and print media in Yorkshire. The event also included a Ghazal performance by local vocalist Shabnam Khan. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the event.
