1 BiiSafe Buddy User Guide
Guide 2 This guide explains how to set up your BiiSafe Buddy and use all of its features. You will need: 1. Your BiiSafe Buddy 2. Your Mobile device (Apple or Android) 3. Data connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) 4. Access to Apple App Store (Apple devices) Google Play(Android devices)
Install the app 3 Go to the Apple App Store (iphone, ipad, ipod touch) and install the BiiSafe Buddy app. Note: When using ipad, select from search results "iphone only" (left upper corner) Go to the Google Play Store(Android devices) and install BiiSafe Buddy application.
Open the app 4 Open the BiiSafe Buddy app on your mobile device. You will see an introduction to BiiSafe Buddy. Select Log in/sign up to log in to your existing account or to create a new account.
Login / Sign up 5 Login to your account with your email and password. If you have forgotten your password, select Lost Password?. A password reset link will be sent to your email. If you don t have a BiiSafe account yet, select Sign Up and create an account.
Connect Buddy 6 1. Tap the large + icon. 2. Bring the Buddy close to the mobile device and press it until the connection window closes
Menu 7 To access the menu, tap the menu icon in the upper left corner. Tip: You can also open the menu by swiping from left to right on some screens.
Buddy menu & settings 8 Tap a Buddy icon on the main screen. You can then: Find it Turn it off Release it Adjust Buddy Settings
Buddy settings From Buddy settings you can adjust e.g. When the buddy plays sound and when the phone plays sound.
Find Buddy 10 Tap the icon of the Buddy you want to find, then press Find Buddy. Buddy will flash and make sounds. Tip: If the connection between the Buddy and the phone is lost, the last known location of the Buddy can be viewed from the Buddy menu or from the Your History tab.
Groups Go to Menu -> Map and tap the icon from right upper corner Tap your Group s name to open the overview. Select + to invite friends and family members to your Group.
Share your location in the app 12 You can share your location with message by tapping the Share Location button in the map view inside the app. The members of the group will see your location on the app s map
Share your location with Buddy 13 Press the BiiSafe Buddy twice (The new Buddy) or once. (1st gen. Buddy) A message with your location will be sent to your group. The members of the group will also see your location on the app s map.
Item tracking 14 Your phone will notify you if you are about to leave your Buddy behind. (If the feature is turned on for that Buddy in the settings.) When the Bluetooth connection between the Buddy and mobile is lost: Mobile device gives a sound notification, unless this feature is disabled Buddy flashes and makes a sound, unless this feature is disabled Location is added to the history
Send an alert 15 Set Alarm Active on from the Buddy s settings and press and hold the BiiSafe Buddy for more than two seconds. An alert will be sent to your group Your location information is also sent with the alert message. Tip: You can also send an alert by tapping and holding the Share Location button in the map view
Activity tracking 16 You can track your daily activity with Buddy. First you have to enable the activity tracking and then you can fill your profile to record more accurate data. Buddy will store movement data in it's internal memory and data is uploaded to the app on the background when Buddy connect to your phone again. Buddy device can store the last 5 days of activity data.
Account 17 From account settings you can: Set your username and photo. Set your location and alert messages. Reset password Set phone number for SMS Alert (Android only) Delete your history Log out
Device Settings 18 From device settings you can for example adjust do not disturb mode and safe networks. In Android devices you can activate the Quick Access Mode to more stable connection. Tip: By choosing safe networks from device settings you can reduce disconnect alerts inside buildings.
Messages Go to Menu -> Messages and you see list of your groups Open the settings by swiping from right to left You can then: Turn the notifications ON or OFF Turn Buddy Press Recipient ON or OFF If this setting is turned on this group will receive messages when the Buddy is pressed Adjust Group Settings
Messages Go to Menu -> Messages Tap your Group s name You see all messages from the group You can share your location with message by tapping the Share Location button. You can make alert by tapping and holding the Share Location button.
Removing devices 21 Leaving a group: Press the switch in the group view. Removing your Buddy: Select RELEASE from the Buddy s menu. Logging out: Select Logout from account settings.
