Howlett Memorial Warden All Breed Horse Show Rules & Regulations 1. This show is run similar to the rules of the C.E.F. or E.C. It shall be the responsibility of each exhibitor to have full knowledge of the classes in which he/she is showing. Anyone not abiding by the rules will be disqualified. The decision of the Judge, Steward, and Show Committee is final. 2. Stallions are not to be handled by anyone under the age of 18 years. 3. NO Dogs are allowed in the arena building. 4. Classes may be cancelled, combined or further divided at the discretion of the Warden Horse Show (3 or less horses in a class). The Warden Horse Show may cancel the show without notice. 5. Post dated cheques will not be accepted. Post entries will be accepted the day of the show prior to 8:00 a.m. A late fee of $20.00 will apply to all entries received after the Closing Date. Entry fees are payable to the Warden Horse Show. Any entries unsigned will be refused entry to the ring. 6. Exhibitors are responsible for completing all information on their own Point Program forms. 7. A Veterinarian or Doctor s certificate is mandatory for any refund of entry fees. 8. AGE: As of January 1 st of the current year. Birth date must be on entry form. Pee Wee - 9 years and under; Junior - 10 to 13 years; Intermediate 14 to 17 years; Adults 18 years and over. An exhibitor may show at a higher level, but must enter all classes at that level and will qualify only for prizes at that level. 9. Pee Wee and Junior riders must wear an approved helmet while mounted anywhere on the show grounds. 10. Maiden Horse - not to have won a 1st place at any other show. 11. Junior Horse - horse to be 4 years old and under as of January 1 st of the current year. 12. Cross entries are NOT permitted. A horse may not be shown by more than one exhibitor excluding class #26, Lead Line. 13. Classes marked with a will be used to calculate Hi-Point awards for each age group. Trail Class scores will be used to break any ties. 14. Three (3) minute gate only on request. All scratched horses and classes to be reported to the Gateman. 15. Inhumane treatment will not be tolerated and unruly horses may be excused from the ring. 16. Ponies must be under 14.2 hands. 17. For Lead Line class, the horse must have a halter and lead shank and riders must be 2 to 5 years of age. Riders MUST wear a Helmet. 18. Trail Time Limit is three (3) minutes and three (3) refusals per obstacle. 19. The Warden Horse Show Committee Members, Directors, or affiliates of the Warden Horse Show will NOT be held responsible or liable in any manner for any or all accident(s) or injury(s) to any person(s) of any extent including participant(s) of the show or spectator(s); damage or theft of any person(s) material or equipment or any other possessions owned, rented, or loaned to any person(s) who are on the premises where the Warden Horse Show is located for the duration of the Warden Horse Show. 20. The Warden Horse Show Committee will endeavour to prevent the loss of, or damage to, any exhibitor but will not be held responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. 21. Protests must be made to the Show Secretary within 48 hours of the class and must be in writing and accompanied by $50.00 cash. 22. Patterns (Reining and Trail) will be posted one (1) hour prior to the class. ALL FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BEFORE ENTERING THE SHOW RING

Howlett Memorial Warden All Breed Horse Show Release & Hold Harmless Agreement The undersigned assumes the unavoidable risks inherent in all horse-related activities, including but not limited to bodily injury and physical harm to horse, rider, and spectator. In consideration, therefore, for the privilege of riding, and/or working around horses at the Warden Horse Show located at Thorsby, Alberta, the Undersigned does hereby agree to hold harmless and indemnify Warden Horse Show, their agents and assignees and further release them from any liability or responsibility for accident, damage, injury, or illness to the Undersigned or to any horse owned by the Undersigned or to any family member or spectator accompanying the Undersigned on the premises. Inherent risks of equine activities shall mean those dangers or conditions which are an integral part of equine activities, including, but not limited to: (i) the propensity of any equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm or death to persons on or around them and/or damage to property in their vicinity; (ii) the unpredictability of an equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement, and unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; (iii) certain hazards such as surface and subsurface objects; (iv) collisions with other equines, animals, people, and objects; (v) the potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or to act within his or her ability.
