STABLING: Stabling is available on Saturday and Sunday night at 35. per stable per night, to be paid with entry. A refund will be made for stabling used by entries forward on the day. Requests for stabling must be made early as numbers are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. BEDDING WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. SHAVINGS NOT ALLOWED. This class is a Qualifier for the Kilmannan Ridden Heavy Horse Championship (2018). The qualifier is for the highest placed ridden Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Society registered in the main British Stud Books at the time of qualification and must be entered in the name and ownership they are registered in. Qualification to be awarded no lower than 3rd place in the event of the winning horse having already qualified. Judging will take place during the Grand Parade for the: OVERALL SUPREME CHAMPION OF THE SHOW The Champion to receive THE PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE CUP presented by Mrs. Margaret Cyster (Founder President)

MONDAY BEST SHOD HEAVY HORSE AWARDS Judge: Mr. R. May The competition, sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Farriers, will run concurrently with judging of the Shire Classes and Any Other Heavy Horse Breed classes. The judge will examine each horse before or during the line-up for preliminary judging, taking into consideration:- a) The condition of the feet b) The making (or preparation) and fitting of the shoes c) The nailing and position of clips Normal shoes and showing plates are equally acceptable, provided they are suitable for the horse. The best shod heavy horse in each class will go forward to the Main Ring Parade for final judging. The Worshipful Company of Farriers will award: A Rosette and an inscribed card to the winner in each class A plaque to the overall winner A plaque for the Registered Farrier responsible for its feet and showing 9.30 a.m. RING TWO Working Horse Demonstrations will take place throughout the morning JUDGING WILLTAKE PLACE IN RING TWO FROM 1.30 P.M. FOR THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL AWARDS BEST WORKING SINGLE Winner to receive The Coastal Saddlery Shield. BEST WORKING PAIR Winner to receive The Dave Goodwin Cup. All Working Horses must work on the plot for at least one and a half hours, with any implement of their choice, to qualify for travelling assistance.

GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY The organizers reserve the right to: Cancel, alter or amend any of the competitions or vary the timing of any events, although this will generally be avoided when possible. Change or alter classes according to entries received. Decline to accept an entry and may cancel the entry of any competitor or exhibitor without stating any reason. Competitors and their servants must carry out any directions given to them by authorized officials of the show and failure to do so may result in the competitor being excluded from taking any further part in the events and forfeiting all entry fees. Exhibitors are required to hold adequate Public Liability Insurance and provide evidence of such cover when submitting their entry form. No claim can be made for anything that may happen to competitors, public, their property, servants or horses in connection with or arising out of events at this show. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organizers against any legal action arising from such an event. No entry fee will be returned except on production of a Veterinary Certificate or in the event of a class being cancelled. When not competing, horses and vehicles shall be kept strictly to nominated areas. Horses in harness classes must be four years old or over. All entries must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at least three months before the show day. The decision of the Judge shall be final in all events. The event must not be used as a training ground for breaking young horses. All cars and other vehicles are parked on site entirely at their owners risk and abide with all the South Eastern Shire Horse Association s Rules & Regulations. Any dogs brought on to the site must be kept on a lead at all times. Exhibitors/Handlers are requested to wear suitable smart clothing when Showing their horses. A well presented horse deserves a well dressed handler. CUPS & TROPHIES Winners of Cups and Trophies are responsible for having these engraved. All Cups and Trophies must be returned to the Cup Steward at least 3 weeks prior to the following year s Show or at such time that the Committee shall decide. Reminders will be sent. In the event that any Cup or Trophy is lost or damaged the winner will be held responsible for the repair or replacement.
