Forest Hill Golf & Country Club Captains Diary.. Page 3 It only seems a short time ago that I was putting pen to paper for the first of my captains diaries and here we are writing my final one. It s been a real privilege to have been your Captain during the past year and I will take some wonderful memories away from it. One of the more memorable one s was the Caribbean evening, what a great night that was. My thanks go to the Liaison and Social committee for their sterling efforts in making the evening such a success. They have also put together a great social calendar for the coming year and their hard work deserves your support. The numerous members that serve on committees give their time for free and without them we would only function as a golf course and not a golf club. As well as those on committees there are numerous other members who contribute behind the scenes, Brian Joule, the Newsletter, Maurice Green who has been keeping the web-site up-dated and is responsible for getting the new fixture diary out before the start of the season ( a first to my knowledge). Alan Nash who, after losing Stoneleigh Deer Park from the reciprocal golf has been working to revamp and get new courses onboard. The reciprocal golf agreement is a great benefit for members and should not be abused. Details can be obtained from the golf shop. To these and all the others who give their time, thank you so much. I know over the last couple of weeks you will have become frustrated with being on temporary greens but it only happens as a last resort so that work can be carried out to ensure that you will have really good greens when the season starts. I for one think that the green staff have done an excellent job, so thanks to Sam and his team. It only remains for me to THANK YOU one and all for your continued support throughout my year, especially when it came to raising money for my charity Rainbows Hospice and to wish your incoming Captain Eddie Ruck my very best wishes and thanks for his support during the year. Club Captain Dave Deacon 2014 2015 Vice Captain Appointed At long last a ladies Vice Captain has been appointed. Lesley Burton, Ladies Captain 2 years ago has volunteered to take up this position so, with her passed experience as Captain she will certainly do a good job. Lesley will become Captain from the 1st April so she will be looking for volunteers to help her in her year of office Forest Hill Webb Site www.foresthillgolfclub.co.uk
