United Soccer All-Star Team Coaches Informational Packet CCV STARS CHAMPIONS CUP January 11-13, 2019
Vision CCV STARS Integra (club soccer) will be hosting its annual tournament January 11-13, 2019 at Phoenix s Reach 11 Sports Complex. The tournament will include approximately 250 U6-U14 boys and girls club teams from around the state and southwest region. United Soccer intends to enter one team per age group in each gender, comprised of players from the United Soccer program. Team Selection Unlike the first come-first served basis of United Soccer, players will have to try out and be selected for these teams. That does mean that some players will not be able to participate on the tournament teams. Each coach will hold at least two open tryouts, and one invitation tryout, with the goal to finalize rosters by Sunday, December 3 rd. An Integra coach will be involved with the team selection. Time Commitment Once the teams are selected, teams will likely train 2-3 times per week to prepare for the tournament. Teams are also likely to hold some Saturday training sessions or scrimmages as well. Players will be excused from any training over the Christmas break if they have other family commitments. Price to Participate There will be no fee to try out for the team. Players selected to the squad will pay $50 which will include two new game shirts, all practices/trainings (including goalkeeping specific sessions), and the team tournament fee which includes a minimum of three games.

Each coach has the option to add more at a later date should they choose. Each player will be asked to wear their game jersey to tryouts help the coaches differentiate players. Tryouts will be held at CCV Peoria with the exact location published to the Peoria United Soccer page of www.ccvstars.com on a tryout map link prior to each tryout date. There is a FREE online registration; players will check in with the coach at each tryout. Rules: 4v4 U7 and U8 Size 3 Ball No Heading All Free-Kicks are indirect Unlimited Substitutions. 4 Quarters of 10 minutes of play. 2 Minutes between Quarters. No Goalkeepers. 7v7- U9 and U10 Size 4 Ball No Heading Build Out Line Offensive players must behind the build out line when the goalkeeper has ball in their hands and on goal kicks. Goalkeepers can only pass, throw or roll the ball into play (punts and drop kicks are not allowed) Offside are in effect from the Build out Line. Two 25-minute Half s with a 5 halftime. 9v9- U11 and U12 Size 4 Ball U11 No Heading / U12 Heading allowed Two 30-minute Half s with a 5 halftime. 11v11- U13 and U15 Size 5 Ball Heading Allowed Two 35-minute Half s with a 5 halftime.
Tryouts Player Registration Players will have an online pre-registration. Have someone with a clipboard or notepad at each tryout making sure each player gets checked in on the United All- Stars Player Check-in sheet. A check-in sheet will be provided by CCV STARS with their name, email address, jersey color. Player Identification Each player has been asked to wear their game jersey. Hoping that a specific color and jersey number will help you take notes and identify talent. Be sure you re taking notes throughout the tryouts to help you remember players you are selecting and not selecting. An Integra coach will be involved with the team selection.. Tryout Format Tryout practice map is posted online. You are able to do whatever you feel will best help you identify talent. I suggest starting with lots of technical drills like dribbling races, passing drills, etc. to help identify which players are technically sound or not. Tryout Ratio 10 minutes skills and 45-60 minutes small sided games. In the U9-U15 age groups, you will have all positions needed so it is possible to have a great defender or goalie whose technical skills are weak. Picking the Team Following your schedule tryouts, you re welcome to: o Select your team o Hold another tryout with everyone invited back o Hold another tryout with some of the kids after making some cuts Be sure to communicate with each player s parents after deciding their placement (or not) o Be as kind and respectful as possible o Treat all of the cuts as you would want your kid to be treated/communicated with
Final Roster Once roster is set, fill final roster sheet with your players names, sizes, and numbers. o Also all coaches and size as you add help To reserve practice days/times and scrimmages you will receive available dates at CCV Sports Complex, please select what dates and times you would like. o I also you can contact the Integra Coach in your age group and set scrimmages or have the coach run/support a training session.
