Angie will work with local communities and businesses to help expand their cooperative marketing efforts with the tourism bureau and gain more media exposure for our communities and attractions. Angie has over 15 years of experience in digital, print, audio and video production and design with a focus on branding. She is recently from Travel Lane County - Eugene, Cascades & Coast in Oregon where she was Digital Marketing Manager and content Ryan will help market Snohomish County as a sports and athletic events destination by connecting with national, regional, state, and local sports organizations, rightsholders, and event directors. Ryan joins the sports commission following his tenure at the University of Idaho as Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, Ticketing and Branding. His career in athletics includes a role as Director of Athletic Marketing at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and Director of Athletic Marketing and Corporate Sales at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. News & Happenings Tourism News: East County Lake Stevens: Carleton Farm Produce is open for the season (May 1 through Nov. 1) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at 630 Sunnyside Blvd. SE, Lake Stevens. Monroe: Evergreen Speedway was named one of NASCAR s Top Ten Short Tracks in the country for the fifth straight year. Snohomish: Snohomish Valley Golf Center has opened a new 18 hole Mini Golf Course next to their driving range on Marsh Road near Hwy 9. The cost is $10 for adults, $8 for children or seniors. The Snohomish Farmers Market is open for the season (May 4 through Sept. 28) on Thursdays, 3 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Avenue between First and Pearl streets, in downtown Snohomish. North County Darrington/Oso: The Whitehorse Market, a conventional and organic open air market in Darrington is open for the season. They are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, and closed Mondays. Marysville: The Qwuloot trail at Ebey Waterfront Park is now open. The paved trail follows the slough for nearly 2 miles from an entry point just East of Ebey Waterfront Park to Qwuloolt Estuary, and then picks up on the other side of the creek and continues to Harborview Park. Historic Downtown Marysville got a bit of a facelift, including improved traffic safety measures and walkability with new curb extensions and medians, marked crosswalks, and intersection traffic circles with attractive landscaping. They also build rain gardens to deal with storm-water runoff. replaced with a Dick s Sporting Goods and a Dave & Busters, which is a restaurant, arcade and bar (kind of like Chuck E. Cheese with beer for adults). Central County Mukilteo: Jennifer Gregerson Mukilteo s mayor will be competing in an ECA dance competition called Dancing with our Stars. She is competing against Arista Wine Cellars co-owner David Arista, ECA Board President Susan Dunn, ECA Founding Executive Director Joe McIalwain, and Snohomish County s f ormer Economic and Cultural Development Manager Wendy Becker Poischbeg. Everett: Seattle Hill Road improvements. The county is adding a center turn lane, bike lanes, curbs, and sidewalks on Seattle Hill Road from 132nd Street SE to 35thAvenue SE. The project also includes enhancing drainage infrastructure and re-aligning the road for improved line of sight. The Everett Sunday Farmers Market will be open for the season (May 14 to Oct. 15) starting on Mother s Day. The market runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays at Boxcar Park at the Port of Everett, 615 13th St. South County Lynnwood: The Northwest Veterans Museum at Heritage Park is having their grand opening on Saturday, May 6th from 10am-4pm, and their regular hours will be Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am-3pm. The Old Country Buffet in Lynnwood is closed, the closest location is in Federal Way. The location of the old Sears in Alderwood mall is going to be Edmonds: Cascadia Art Museum s newest exhibit, Botanical Exuberance: Trees & Flowers in Northwest Art. It began April 6 and continues through June 25 in Edmonds.
