:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Thunder Skis THUNDER 399 Movement's beefiest all-mountain offering holds up well against the other skis on offer in this category. Best for those who like a bit of speed and whose turns tend to be wider. The ride is smooth and if you power up in the turns you are sprung straight into the next. They've a straightish sidecut giving a wider turn radius than most skis this size. 167 / 177 / 187 cm 87 mm 22m @ 177cm length EATING VERT http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?138,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,5d4b0eb0245cd5070a42ad0474b8743a10/11/2008 08:51:30
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Kamasutra Skis KAMASUTRA 399 This is movement's top park ski. They are responsive, smooth and like to be skied aggressively. Advanced and expert freestylers, or heavier learners will get a lot of use out of these. Let's talk graphics. Last year Movement had what looked like a naked girl riding a snake on the ski, which obviously we all thought was brilliant, this year they've gone full on pornographic with two girls getting up to all sorts - keep it coming. 169 / 179 cm 88 mm 21m @ 179cm length BIG AIR FREESTYLE SKI http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?137,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,fed4d9357114553ab6edbb6ca8bec4de10/11/2008 08:53:08
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Joystick Skis JOYSTICK 359 This is a light ski compared to others in the freestyle world, making it easy to spin on and off rails fast, and huck that 1080 off the blue kicker. In the moguls they are quick enough for serious players. When on the cruise they feel smooth and hold an edge well giving you the confidence to carve them at high speeds. Jibbers might find them a bit stiff for the flatland freestyle, and big air specialists will struggle to get a good pop out of them. 166 / 176 cm 80 mm 20m @ 176cm length JIB MONKEYS FREESTYLE SKI http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?136,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,a74212990bcad950564f586895b0beeb10/11/2008 08:54:30
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Goliath Skis GOLIATH 455 As the ski of choice for those crazy Scotsmen, the MacKay brothers, it's no wonder this ski was very good in a straight line and at high speed. This is definitely one for the more experienced skiers however, stiff as hell, it will go through anything, but to get the most out of it it needs to be driven hard, and a lot of skiers would struggle. However if you do ski like a madman you would be hard pushed to find a better tool. 191 cm 108 mm 32m @ 191cm length GUNNING BIG MOUNTAIN SKI http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?135,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,4a2a4dce26111ecf354c021c051c2daa10/11/2008 08:55:19
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Gladiator Skis GLADIATOR 399 In spite of its 92mm profile this ski still maneouvers easily, initiating and releasing from turns with ease, while still feeling stable and strong. While it performs well on the piste, it seems to prefer the powder, or maybe that's just our testers. Backcountry freestylers will have fun with these, and really it is an all-mountain ski for advanced-up skiers. 183 / 193 cm 92 mm 24m @ 183cm length FREESKIING http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?129,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,b7042b2da2e1213f0b764db2e384319510/11/2008 10:52:45
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Spicy Skis SPICY 369 A top women's all-mountain ski with outstanding edge grip on all surfaces. On the piste they perform well, and are particularly partial to long speedy turns. The same can be said for the offpiste as well, although some found them a little 'catchy' in the powder. However you know skis are doing something right when testers come back telling you about that 'great bit of cut up ice they skied'; great fun. 153 / 163 / 173 cm 81 mm 17m @ 163cm length STABILITY http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?131,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,4286879e26a2d858a98ab9e958f4793810/11/2008 11:44:25
:: FALL-LINE SKIING // Gear // Review of Movement: Yaka Jam Skis YAKA JAM 375 A new direction for Movement and we like, very much. Its aggressive sidecut is more suited to the pisted runs, but still wide enough to get you floating in the deep stuff. A relatively stiff ski, it wasn't the most forgiving out there, and less experienced skiers might struggle with this one, but for the rest if you are looking for something that can mainly blast the piste, but also plough the crud and cruise the powder then you could do a lot worse. 164 / 173 / 182 cm 85 mm 16m @ 173cm length PISTE PLUS http://www.fall-line.co.uk/ski-review.php?132,a%3a0%3a%7b%7d,977e7dcffa3e6bce583e0c198f10bdd910/11/2008 11:45:04
