ABOUT GRAMBLING STATE } The Grambling State Tigers have gone 2-6 so far this season with wins over Mid-Atlantic Christian and Selma. } Facing a brutal schedule, GSU has dropped games to East Carolina, Ohio State, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, UT Arlington and Marquette. } The Tigers are averaging 64.0 points per game led by a teambest 14.4 points per game from Nigel Riberio. ALL-TIME SERIES VS. GRAMBLING STATE } Tennessee State leads the all-time series versus Grambling State, 15-8. The meetings date back to the 1954-55 season. LOMAN ON A ROLL } After averaging 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game in the first four games of the season, senior forward Demontez Loman has increased his production. } In his last three games, Loman is putting up 5.3 points and 8.7 boards per game in 24.7 minutes. } He tallied back-to-back seven rebound performances versus Reinhardt and Kennesaw State before pulling down a seasonbest 12 boards against Stetson on Dec. 5. CHICAGO CONNECTIONS } Freshman point guard Armani Chaney is a Chicago, Ill. native. } Some of TSU top players in recent past have been from Chicago, including Patrick Miller (NBA D-League) and Kellen Thornton (NBA D-League). } Robert Covington, who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, hails from nearby Bellwood, Ill. GRAMBLING STATE CONNECTIONS } Current Grambling State Head Coach Shawn Walker played for TSU Associate Head Coach Randy Peele at Campbell during the 1990-91 season. } Peele was an assistant coach for the Camels, and he coached Walker during his freshman season before Walker transferred to Elizabeth City State University. HBCU HOOPS IN THE WINDY CITY } Located 398 miles from Chicago, Ill., Tennessee State University is the closest Division I HBCU to the Windy City. } Grambling State is located just over 700 miles away from Chicago.
