CONDITIONS Before competing, every exhibitor bringing horses to the show will be required complete the Waiver Form and to list each horse being shown together with the PIC for the property it has come from. All exhibits, except stud horses must be the property of the exhibitor. Yearlings are not eligible to compete as foal at the side of the dam. Stallions cannot compete with geldings or mares or be entered for any class but their own class, except in Show Jumping and in classes specially provided. All colts and stallions in led classes must be exhibited in a stallion or rearing bit (except for western breed classes) and must be handled by a competitor 17 years & over. Green disc to be worn by stallions. Class definitions Maiden a horse that has not won first prize in the type of event nominated for at an Agricultural Show, Rodeo, Gymkhana or Sports Meeting Novice - a horse that has not won a first prize at a Royal Show or an Open Championship at an Agricultural Show. Show Hacks and Show Hunters are combined for the Novice Events Local events only persons and exhibits who reside in the Local Government area of Clarence Valley Council are eligible to compete. If the 1 st place getter in the Open Hack & Open Hunter does not present for Open Champion the 2 nd place getter is eligible to compete for the Championship. Lady s & Gent s Hack must be ridden by a Rider 17 years and over. In Championship events the horse must be ridden by the same rider who rode it to win that restricted class. Show Hunter Hacks can only compete in Hunter Classes and not the Open Hack classes. Only Open Hack, Galloway Hack and Pony Hack Champion winners are eligible to compete for Supreme Champion Open Hack. Only Show Hunter Hack, Galloway Show Hunter Hack and Pony Show Hunter Hack Champion winners are eligible to compete for Supreme Show Hunter Hack. Grand Champion Rider under 17 years is to be contested by Champion riders under 17 years. Supreme Champion Rider is contested by the Champion Adult Rider and the Grand Champion Rider under 17 years. All Ponies, Galloways and Hacks to present a Height Certificate issued at this Show by the official Measurer, or, a current EFA or Hack Council Height Certificate may be accepted. Some horses nearing the expiration of their EFA certificate, at the discretion of the judge, may be requested to be measured by Grafton Show s Official Measurer. The Official Measurer will be available on the grounds on Friday. Height definitions Ponies - not to exceed 14 hands (in some Breed Classes where they do not exceed 14.2hands). Galloways - over 14 hands and not exceeding 15 hands. Hacks - over 15 hands. Entries are made subject to the Society s rules and the rules and regulations of the Far North Coast Agricultural Society Group and RAS rules. Dress standards competitors as per Breed Rules. Stewards, Judges and other officials must wear a coat, tie and hat (lady Judges may wear a dress if preferred and a suitable hat). Ring events are under the control of the Chief Steward. If the Chief Steward feels that the grounds are too wet he/she will then call a meeting of the Section Chief Stewards; the majority decision being final. The committee accepts no responsibility to indemnify competitors in any way for events cancelled under such circumstances. Exhibits in Registered Breed Classes must be registered and competitors must present certificates to Stewards on request; exhibits must be owned by a current financial member of their Breed Society.

Horse Owners and Exhibitors are hereby notified that their animals may be subjected to Random Drug Testing by a suitably qualified person at any time during the show. Riders must wear an approved ASA helmet AS/NZS 3838 All Led Champions are eligible for Supreme Led of Show. If the number of entries warrants, classes may be split at the discretion of the Chief Steward. The Chief Steward s decision regarding the removal of an exhibit or exhibitor from the judging area or the showground is final. No alcohol or mobile phones permitted in the Main Ring. No prams or strollers permitted in the Main Ring. Protests must be delivered to the Chief Ring Steward in writing within half an hour after an award has been made, with a deposit of one hundred dollars ($100) which may be forfeited if the protest is dismissed. Improper behaviour any persons being abusive or offensive to a Judge or Steward will be disqualified from competing at this or any future Grafton Show. Outside assistance to competitors by word, radio or any other method in Horse ring events will not be permitted. If in breach of this ruling, competitors and their exhibits may be dismissed from the event and from the Showground. Results to be submitted to the Agricultural Societies Council (ASC). Class entry fee - $4.00 (unless otherwise stated). Class entry tickets to be purchased at the Ring Office then presented to the steward at the commencement of each event. Consolation classes no entry fee or prize money, ribbons only. Prize money led classes - 1 st - $10; 2 nd - $5; 3 rd - ribbon. Prize money for ridden classes - 1 st - $10, 2 nd - $5, 3 rd - ribbon. Prize money and Ribbons- Where there is only one horse in an event 1 st prize money will be awarded. Where only 2 in an event only 1 st prize money will be awarded. Ribbons will be awarded to third place. Prize money may be collected from the Show Office or traded for entry tickets from the Show Ring Office. All horses must take part in the Grand Parade. Only ribbons won at the current Grafton Show shall be exhibited in the Grand Parade. Stables & yards only written applications accepted, no phone bookings for stable or yards will be accepted. Preference will be given to travelling horses. Fees must accompany bookings. Stabling & camping fees. Stables $10 per day; yards $5 per day; camping $15 per night. No refund of stabling/camping fees within 2 weeks of show date. Only vehicles with a pass will be allowed on the grounds. Day competitors must park in the field opposite the Villier Street entrance and must not park on the Showground. Electric fencing for temporary horse yards is not permitted. Any person bringing electrical equipment onto the showground is required to ensure that all electrical leads, tools & appliances are in good condition and in safe working order. All electrical leads must be tied up at a safe height to conform the Work Health & Safety Act. 4
