We are working in coordination with the PGA of America to ensure that our PGA Members receive the help they need during this very trying time. With that being said, we want to make sure that those PGA Members whom have been impacted and may have suffered personal or business loss (for which they will have un-reimbursed out of pocket expenses) are aware of the PGA Disaster Relief Fund a program that may be able to provide assistance. At this link you will find the PGA Disaster Relief Fund Application, which includes additional details about the program and how to apply. With a win over a talented team from Greenville, NC, they became the state champions and advanced to the regional semifinals in Savannah, Georgia on September 17 and 18, playing the tough Savannah Harbors course. Thank You Patriot Golf Day Supporters! BlueGolf Carolinas App SCNS Sports Foods Tournaments, Education & Meeting Opportunities In Case You Missed It Follow CPGA STAY CONNECTED WITH THE CPGA Charlotte One team was composed of 10 players from four area courses including Longview, Waterford, Charles Sifford GC, and Tega Cay. Brent Reneau, PGA Director of Instruction and Winthrop University Assistant Golf Coach, has directed all eleven winning matches leading to the state championship. The winners of the Savannah regionals advance to national championship at Greyhawk GC in Scottsdale, Arizona November 19-21. The recent state championship match was won by a score of 8 to 4 over 5000 yards at Pinewild CC in Pinehurst. Attending the match was Jack Nance, Executive Director of the Carolinas Golf Association, which sponsors hundreds of tournaments yearly for amateurs of all ages. Jack commented that he was impressed with the "sportsmanship and high skill levels of these youngsters." The winning Charlotte One team was led by Zach Reuland, area youth golf standout, with Griffin Tarver, Grayson Throwbridge, Bryce Wittmer, Keegan Brown, Robie Thompson, Calvin Currier, Nolan Will, Justin Jenkins, and Ben Mills. Zach hit a 250 yard drive onto the four par fifth hole on his two man team's 5 under par score for their 9-hole match. They lost a very close match against South Carolina 7-5 in the afternoon during Session #2. While they may not have won, it was a great experience for the players and captains alike moving into next season. Their final match was against the other 2-0 team, Georgia, who lost in a playoff at the National Championship in 2015. The experience paid off for Georgia as they won 8-4, however the South Carolina players never gave up and held their own. Great sportsmanship from all teams involved, as both Carolina teams left with their heads held high.
