How the Caddie Academy Program Works It is a 2 year program: year one as a caddie rookie and year 2 as a caddie leader It is an 8 week summer program, approximately June 18 August 14 Candidates will be evaluated and selected on the following criteria: Family needs, GPA and Strength of character Caddies must complete 6 loops every 2 weeks for a total of 24 loops over the 8 weeks (one loop = 18 holes) Caddies must attend weekly 1 ½ hour leadership workshops, do 2 hours of volunteer service each month, and complete a bi-weekly work log Caddies are paid an educational grant every two weeks An overview meeting with parents and candidates will be held to review program, selection process, expectations and questions/answers Payment of Educational Grants Upon successful completion of bi-weekly responsibilities, (caddy loops, volunteer hours, leadership workshops, completing caddie log), caddies will receive an educational grant of $200 every other week ($400/month) $800 in total educational grant received over the 8 week program Caddies may also receive an optional tip after a completed loop The Orientation Program Attendance is mandatory 2 nd year returning caddies will attend a 1 ½ hour review session on a Saturday before the start of the 8 weeks Program will be held at the Participating Course. 1 st year candidates will attend 2 Saturday sessions (2 hours / session) Orientation to caddying and golf Caddy program logistics, expectations and a program overview Parents/guardians encouraged to attend orientation sessions Sessions will take place at the Participating Course. Candidate Selections o 5-10 new candidates will be selected each year for the program. o New candidates must complete an application and submit school transcripts. o Board members will review applications, transcripts, while also evaluating participation and attitude during orientation sessions. o Candidates will complete a Caddie Exam upon completion of the 2 nd orientation session. o Final selection of the Summer Caddies will be made prior to the start of the 8 week program. 5
