THE SERIES WITH NEVADA Utah State leads the all-time series against Nevada, 22-21, and have won 11 of the last 12, including each of the last three matches. Thursday s contest will be the first meeting between the two teams this year. THE LAST TIME AGAINST NEVADA Lauren Anderson recorded a career-high 23 kills and was one of three hitters for the Aggies that logged double-digit kills, followed by outside Kaylie Kamalu-Smith with 15 and right side Kayla DeCoursey with 11 during the match on Oct. 22, 2016t. Kamalu-Smith also recorded 12 digs for her fifth double-double of the year. Overall, Utah State hit a season-high.312 (60-17-138) during the match, including a blistering.467 (17-3-30) during the opening set. THE SERIES WITH SAN JOSÉ STATE Utah State leads the all-time series against San José State, 19-18-1, and has won six of the last seven matches. Saturday will mark the first time the teams have played this season. San José State is one of just eight programs in USU history that the Aggies have drawn a tie with. THE LAST TIME AGAINST SAN JOSÉ STATE Kaylie Kamalu-Smith recorded 17 kills, hitting a career-best.625 (17-2-24) and flirted with the school record for hitting percentage in a three-set match after hitting.800 (12-0-15) over the first two sets on Nov. 19, 2016. She was followed offensively by junior outside Lauren Anderson and junior middle Carly Lenzen, each with 11 kills apiece. Senior setter Erica Moscoso finished the match with 39 kills as the Aggies had one of their most efficient matches of the year, hitting.371 (49-13-97). CONFERENCE 100 S Utah State head coach Grayson DuBose secured his 100th conference victory at the helm of the Aggies with USU s 3-0 win over UNLV on Oct. 28. 400-CLUB Senior outside Lauren Anderson has totaled 401 kills this season, marking the first Aggie to eclipse 400 kills in a season since All-American Liz McArthur logged 406 during the 2011 season. Anderson needs 433 kills on the year to tie for 10th all-time in a single season, matching Liz McArthur s total during the 2009 season. RECORD-SETTING DIGS Junior libero Tasia Taylor etched her name in the Utah State record book, logging 25 digs in USU s 3-set victory over UNLV on Oct. 28. Taylor broke the previous school record of 24 digs in a 3-set match set by Christine Morrill on Nov. 4, 2010, against Boise State. #AGGIESALLTHEWAY 1

RISING IN THE RECORD BOOKS Taylor has already totaled 485 digs this season, seventh all-time in a single season in Utah State history. Taylor needs 18 more digs to move into sixth all-time, tying Ashlan Rogers-Court with 503 digs during the 2013 season, 21 more digs to move into fifth all-time, tying Hannah Gleason with 506 digs during the 2015 season, and 25 more digs to move into fourth alltime, tying Kelsi Peterson with 510 digs during the 2005 season. TWO OF THE BEST HITTERS IN USU HISTORY Anderson and senior right side Kayla DeCoursey both have the chance to write their names on the USU record books, carrying career hitting percentages of.247 and.239, respectively. The mark puts them at ninth and tenth, respectively, in USU history. NO ACE FOR YOU Utah State had a perfect serve receive against UNLV on Oct. 28, marking the first time this season that a USU opponent has not recorded a service ace. MW DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK, SEPT. 18 Taylor led all players in digs the week of September 11 en route to being named the MW Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18. In the 3-0 win at Weber State that week, Taylor led both teams with 14 digs and added two assists. In the 3-1 win at Southern Utah, Taylor recorded a career-high 28 digs, as part of a season-high 84 digs for the team, and added four assists and one ace. For the week, Taylor totaled 42 digs, averaging 6.00 per set, six assists and one service ace. NORTHERN ARIZONA ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Senior outside Lauren Anderson and senior opposite Kayla DeCoursey were named to the Lumberjack Classic all-tournament team after proving to be the most efficient hitters for USU on the outside during the tournament. Anderson totaled 44 kills, averaging 4.40 per set, hit.297 (44-14-101) and also logged 27 digs, six blocks, two aces and one assist. DeCoursey finished second on the team with 11 blocks, while recording 26 kills, hitting.246 (26-9-69) and tallying 10 digs and two service aces. UTAH STATE ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Senior middle Carly Lenzen and junior middle Lauren O Brien were named to the Utah State all-tournament team. Lenzen finished the weekend with 20 kills, hitting.306 (20-5-49), and totaled 12 blocks, six digs and two service aces. O Brien led the USU block with 15 during the three-game stretch and also was the most efficient attacker, hitting.308 with 17 kills on 39 attempts with only five errors. SWING AWAY Senior outside Lauren Anderson recorded the most attempts of any Mountain West player during the first weekend of the season with her career-high 69 attempt-effort against CSU Bakersfield on Aug. 26. Anderson finished the match with 22 kills, one shy of her career high. KILLING 20 S Anderson entered the 2017 season with only two 20- plus kill performances in her career, but has already surpassed that total with seven 20-plus kill outings this season, including career-high-tying 23-kill outings against San Diego State on Sept. 21, at Wyoming on Nov. 4, and against Air Force on Nov. 11. DIG STREAK Junior libero Tasia Taylor has recorded double-digit digs in all but two matches this season, including a career-high 28 at Southern Utah on Sept. 15. DOUBLE 20 Taylor and Anderson both logged 20 or more digs in Utah State s 3-1 victory over Southern Utah on Sept. 15, recording career highs of 28 and 23, respectively. It was the first time since the 2013 season that USU teammates had tallied 20 or more digs in the same match. DOUBLE-DIGIT DIGS Utah State had four players record double-digit digs in the same match for the first time this season against San Diego State on Sept. 21. Taylor led the way with 17, followed by Anderson and junior setter Kassidy Johnson with 12, and senior outside Rachel Gale-Hammond with 10. DIGGING 20 S Taylor has recorded 20 or more digs in a match 10 times this season and has logged 15 or more digs in 20 contests this year, including six of the last seven. HOME SWEET HOME With its victory over Air Force on Nov. 11, Utah State secured a winning season at home for the 11th time in 12 years under head coach Grayson DuBose. #AGGIESALLTHEWAY 3

Grayson DuBose is entering his 12th season as Utah State s head volleyball coach after being hired on March 27, 2006. In his 11 years at USU, DuBose (pronounced Do-Boze) has brought stability to one of the top programs in the region as he has coached two All-Americans and 24 all-conference selections. Off the court, 38 of his student-athletes have earned academic all-conference honors a total of 90 times, as well as six academic all-district recipients. He enters the 2017 season as the longest tenured coach in USU volleyball history and is second on the all-time wins list. I consider it a distinguished honor to be the head coach of the Utah State University volleyball program. My family and I love Logan and the University, and we re proud to call this place home, DuBose said. During my time here, I have deeply enjoyed sharing the passion for the sport of volleyball with not just our student-athletes, but our staff, administration and community. In 2016, DuBose led the Aggies to eight more victories than the previous season. The USU offense was especially sound as the team recorded a school-record.238 hitting percentage (1,465-562-3,797). Additionally, Utah State finished among the top four of the Mountain West in kills, assists and digs. Junior outside Lauren Anderson went on to earn all-mountain West honors at the end of the season, leading the team with 377 kills and finishing among the top 10 in the MW with 3.52 kills per set. Off the court, USU student-athletes also found success as 10 Aggies were named academic all-conference. Additionally, five more were named Mountain West Scholar Athletes. In 2015, DuBose captured his 150th victory as head coach of the Aggies in a 3-1 win over Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 19. Additionally, five student-athletes earned Mountain West Scholar Athlete honors as well as nine being named academic all-mountain West. In 2014, DuBose led the Aggie volleyball program into new territory, as USU opened up a new volleyball competition facility, Kirby Court at the Wayne Estes Center. DuBose had an integral voice in the design and layout of the new facility, which includes space for a competition court, two practice courts, team film room, team lounge, team locker room, strength and conditioning center, meeting rooms, coaches offices and an athletic training room. The new facility saw the Aggies go 7-6 at home, marking the ninth consecutive year that USU has had a winning record at home under DuBose. Individually, DuBose mentored senior Kaitlyn VanHoff to all-mountain West honors in addition to his charges earning nine academic all-mountain West citations and six Mountain West Scholar-Athlete accolades. DuBose led Utah State into the Mountain West in 2013, where the Aggies posted a 20-11 overall and 13-7 MW record. The 20-win season was the second in a row and third in the last four years, all under DuBose, and also marked the first time that USU had posted back-to-back 20-win seasons since 2000 and 2001. Overall, it was the Aggies 12th 20-win season in 38 seasons of USU volleyball. USU spikers also had success in the classroom in 2013, earning seven academic all-mountain West honors and five Mountain West Scholar-Athlete accolades. Under DuBose s leadership, USU notched the 600th all-time win in program history with its first victory of the 2013 season. The Aggies are believed to be the 102nd program in NCAA history to reach the 600-win plateau, according to available records. Sophomore opposite side hitter Elle Brainard capped the season by becoming the first Aggie volleyball player to earn all-mountain West honors. HEAD COACH GRAYSON DUBOSE Brigham Young, 1993 12th Season at Utah State Overall Record 181-180 (.501) In 2012, DuBose led USU to the regular-season Western Athletic Conference title, as the Aggies collected nine conference postseason awards, including DuBose being named WAC Coach of the Year, while redshirt-freshman Brainard was tabbed WAC Freshman of the Year. Paige Neves, Rachel Orr, Shay Sorensen and Josselyn White all earned first-team all-wac honors, while Brainard and VanHoff were tabbed to the second-team. Brainard was also named to the all-freshmen team. USU s three first-team honorees in 2012 were the most in its eight years in the WAC and only the second time in school history to earn three first-team all-conference honors, joining 2000 when three Aggies collected first-team all-big West Conference honors in Amy Crosbie, Denae Mohlman and Melissa Schoepf. Utah State s five all-conference selections in 2012 were also the most during its time in the WAC, as well as the most since having five Big West honoree in 2001, including Neves older sister, Chelsi, who was a first-team selection with Michelle Matheson. Three other Aggies also earned honorable mention all-big West honors. Utah State s block was especially strong in 2012 as the team finished ninth in the nation with 3.00 blocks per set, continuing a tradition of being among the national leaders. The trend followed the 2011 team which ranked 10th with 2.79 blocks per set and the 2010 team that ranked ninth with 2.89 blocks per set. The 2012 season was also another well-decorated one off the court, as eight Aggie players earned academic all-wac accolades. Under DuBose s leadership in 2011, Liz McArthur and Shay Sorensen earned all-wac honors, while Paige Neves was named to the all-freshman team. Off the court, the Aggies also had noteworthy success with eight players earning academic all-wac honors, including McArthur earning first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII honors for the second-straight year. Utah State had one of its best seasons in school history in 2010, winning its first-ever WAC Tournament Championship and advancing to its fourth NCAA Tournament in school history. Overall, Utah State became just the third team in the history of the WAC to win its tournament championship as it was the first school in 11 years to defeat perennial power Hawai i in the championship match. USU finished the year with a 24-9 record, including a third-place conference finish with a 9-7 league mark. Those 24 wins in 2010 were not only the seventh-most in school history, but the most since 1982. Utah State also had four players earn all-wac honors during the season, including McArthur, who was named to the first team. McArthur was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 2010 WAC Tournament and went on to earn American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) honorable mention All-American honors. USU also had seven players earn academic all-wac honors in 2010, while senior middle blocker Katie Astle joined McArthur on the academic all-district team. DuBose also received national attention in 2010 as he was named one of five finalists for the Collegiate Volleyball Update National Coach of the Year award. The 2008 and 2009 squads combined for 26 victories over the two years as four Aggies earned all-conference accolades in 2008 with eight more earning academic all-wac honors. In 2009, Liz McArthur was awarded the first of three all-wac citations in her career and was one of nine Aggies recognized with academic all-wac honors. DuBose also had plenty of success during the 2007 season as he led Utah State to a 17-13 record and a third-place conference finish with an 11-5 mark. Among those 11 league victories was one of the biggest wins in school history as USU posted a three-set sweep at No. 10 Hawai i, snapping a 108-match home conference winning streak for the Rainbow Wahine. Following the 2007 season, DuBose had four players recognized by the WAC as senior Amanda Nielson was named first-team all-conference and an AVCA honorable mention All-American, while setter Chelsea Fowles was named the Freshman of the Year in the WAC. DuBose was also honored in 2007 as he became the first volleyball coach in school history to garner conference Coach of the Year honors. In his 11 complete seasons at the helm of the Aggie program, DuBose has a 166-167 (.497) record, coaching his 300th career match as head coach vs. San Diego State on Nov. 14, 2015. DuBose earned his 100th career win with the Aggies victory against Seattle on Sept. 20, 2012. DuBose became just the second coaching position to reach 100 wins as Marilyn McReavy and Mary Jo Peppler hold the school record with 209 wins as they were cohead coaches from 1976-81. USU has won 20 matches a total of 12 times in school history, including three under DuBose in the 2010, 2012 and 2013 seasons. Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Utah State, DuBose spent four seasons (2003-06) as an assistant on Brigham Young University s men s volleyball team, helping the Cougars win the national title in 2004. In his four seasons at Brigham Young, DuBose helped lead the Cougars men s program to a 90-30 (.750) record, including a National Championship in 2004 and a second-place finish at the 2003 NCAA Tournament. During his time at BYU, he coached nine All-Americans, including the 2004 NCAA Player of the Year. DuBose began his collegiate coaching career at Utah State from 1999-2000 as an assistant to Tom Peterson. During that time, the Aggies won the Eastern Division of the Big West Conference in 1999 and advanced to the school s first-ever NCAA Tournament in 2000, defeating Missouri in the first round. USU finished the 2000 season ranked 22nd in the country, the program s first-ever top 25 ranking. DuBose began his coaching career as an assistant at Brighton High School in Sandy, Utah, from 1997-98 and also assisted with the Cache Valley Juniors and the Mountain West Volleyball Club during that time period. Following his two-year stint at Utah State, DuBose spent one year as an assistant to Peterson at the University of New Mexico, working with the women s program, before following Peterson to Brigham Young. DuBose played two years of collegiate volleyball at Golden West Community College in Huntington Beach, Calif., after graduating from Edison High School in Huntington Beach, where he earned all-county honors his senior season. DuBose graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in history in 1993 and then received his teaching certificate from Utah State in 1995. He and his wife Lenonnie have three children, Kline, Cassandra and Jackson. 4
