THE CLUB AT 12 OAKS MEMBER NEWSLETTER MARCH 2016 Greetings from the GM s Office - Mike Biscotti, General Manager We are very excited about the new clubhouse opening this month as I am sure you are. The completion of the clubhouse and the 2 nd pool this summer will complete our campus. It was an extremely busy 2015, and now 2016, with the expansion of the fitness center, the multi-purpose room addition, the bunker renovation project, the new clubhouse, the construction of the 2 nd amenity site, and the up-and-coming greens conversion this summer to Champion Bermuda grass. I hope these new features will add to your enjoyment as a resident or golf member of this wonderful community. The club has operated without a defined policy for dress code and clubhouse rules, so it is important that we establish those before we open the new clubhouse. On behalf of the Board of Governors, management and the owners, I want to thank all of you who completed the dress code policy survey. I also want to thank the Board for championing this initiative. Your overall response called for the dress to be casual. Naturally, everyone s interpretation of casual wear will be different, so we tried to draft the policy in a way that will give you a general idea of what is acceptable and not acceptable to wear to the club. One Board member suggested thinking of it as if you were invited to a friend s club; how would you dress in that situation? I believe most people would dress differently than if they were going to My Way Tavern or the Mason Jar. If you think about it that way I am sure what you wear to the club will be appropriate. The success of a private country club is dependent on the support of its members and guests. If you are a social member and you are planning to dine out, please give strong consideration to dining at the club and inviting your family and friends. If you are a golf member, invite your friends and business associates out to play golf. If you or a friend are planning a wedding, special occasion event, golf tournament big or small, business meeting with or without golf, please consider your club as the venue. Thank you for being a member! 2008 Green Oaks Parkway Holly Springs, NC 27540 919-285-3680 www.12oaksgolfclub.com

Golf - Mike Mueller, Head Golf Pro Spring is right around the corner, and that means golf season is starting and many exciting things are happening at the club! We have purchased a Flightscope Launch Monitor and have increased the number of demo and fitting options available. We want to remind everyone that our prices on golf equipment are 10% lower than prices everywhere else for members. Let us help you find the right equipment for your game! When the new golf shop opens, it will be fully stocked with new apparel and accessories, and will feature lines from Turtleson, Dunning, Adidas, Nike, Oxford & Greg Norman. We have also hired a part-time shop manager who will assist in merchandising. Please stop in the Golf Shop to meet Jessica when you have an opportunity. Now is the time to tune up your game to get tournament ready. The members of the Professional Staff offer both individual and group instruction for golfers of all ages and abilities. Golf Maintenance - James Reese, GCSAA Class A Golf Course Superintendent February was a cold, wet month. The wet weather put us behind on our winter Preemergent and weed control application, but we will finish those projects as soon as the course is dry enough. Despite the weather, we were able to continue clearing some native areas, cut down seven dead trees scattered throughout the course, and prune the ornamental trees on the course. Better Billy Bunkers has completed the bunker renovations. The inch and a half of rain we had on February 16th was a great test. We had minimal washouts on the completed bunkers and were able to repair the washouts in just a few hours. Stay up-to-date on course repairs by visiting the Course Report page on the 12 Oaks App. Please respect the Cart Rule for the day. This time of year the Bermuda isn t taking up the water from rain, and it will stay wet longer. We will keep you on the path when conditions warrant it.

Events & Activities - Rachel Roos, Lifestyle Director February was a great month at 12 Oaks. The Romantic Dinners for Two Cooking Class was well-attended and enjoyed by all. We would like to thank Chef Eboni for all the preparation she puts into her wonderful cooking classes and encourage members to check out one of the two classes she is offering this month. We also had a great time celebrating Valentine s Day. Chef Richard and his team put together an incredible menu, and everyone in attendance enjoyed a lovely evening. We recently completed our six-week Introduction to Ballroom Dance series. We had between 20 and 40 participants at each class, and everybody had fun while learning the basics of various dance styles. Based on the popularity of this activity, we would like to offer a similar series in the fall. We had 7 people participate in our annual CPR Clinic. CPRCarolina presented a wonderful class, and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future. March is shaping up to be a busy month! Join us to celebrate the opening of the new clubhouse, attend a cooking class, or join us for our Easter celebrations. We look forward to seeing you! From the Developer - Greg Hoff, HOA Community Manager As many residents are aware, the Town of Holly Springs allows licensed drivers 18 and older to operate a properly registered golf cart on town streets with speed limits of 25 mph or less. These carts must be registered/ inspected with Holly Springs and must have certain safety devices that are not typical on carts used only on golf courses or other private property. These safety devices include: Headlights, taillights, reflectors, turn signals, seat belts, and rear view mirrors. It is imperative for all residents who utilize golf carts on public streets to be licensed drivers with carts that are in accordance with the additional safety devices and regulations set forth by the municipality. In the event you witness a golf cart or golf cart operator that is incompliant with the Town of Holly Springs regulations, please contact the non-emergency police department for further assistance at (919) 552-7110. A list of all rules for operating golf carts on public streets along with information on how to register a golf cart can be found through the following link from the Town of Holly Springs website. http://www.hollyspringsnc.us/988/golf-carts-on-public-streets Club Dining - Bruce Jantella, Food & Beverage Director Dining Room Hours: Monday: Closed Tuesday- Thursday: 11:00am-9:00pm Friday Saturday: 11:00am-10:00pm Sundays: 11:00am-6:00pm Live Music Friday, March 11 Anthony & Mariah 6:00-9:00pm Saturday, March 12 Garth Robertson 6:00-9:00pm Saturday, March 19 Shelby Merchant 6:00-8:00pm Saturday, March 26 Jim Hartman 6:00-8:00pm
