At the time of writing these competition rules Swim England has replaced ASA so where either are mentioned they refer to the same organisation. 2. The Beacon Games and Rushmoor Open shall be competed under ASA Laws and Regulations and FINA Technical Rules of Synchronised Swimming. 3. Both competitions shall be held in accordance with the ASA Synchronised Swimming Leadership Team Competition Licensing Guidelines (2017). 4. All competitors shall have been registered members of the club under whose name they compete for at least 60 days prior to the first day of the competition. 5. License categories The Beacon Games is a level 4 competition. The Rushmoor Open is a level 2 competition. General rules 1. The BEACON GAMES shall be held annually in accordance with the FINA technical rules of Synchronised Swimming, Where FINA Rules do not provide the requirements ASA Synchronised Swimming Guidelines will be applied. 2. The promotion of the Competition shall be the responsibility of the BEACON GAMES host programme. It shall, in partnership with the Talent Development Officer for Synchro decide any matter arising that is not covered by these conditions. 3. The event organisation shall be the responsibility of the allotted host Beacon Programme approved by the Talent Development Officer for Synchro.
4. All officials shall be qualified and on the ASA Synchronised Swimming Licensed Officials List (where applicable). 5. All Clubs are responsible for appointing judge(s) as set out by the host Beacon programme and are responsible for the expenses of the judge(s). 6. Competitors will enter as a Regional Beacon Programme for the BEACON GAMES and/or as an ASA affiliated club or nation/ home country in the Open category. The maximum number of entrants per Beacon programme is 15. The promoters may in the case of entry numbers/time constraints refuse Open entries on a first come first served basis. 7. Entries for the Rushmoor Open Competition will only be accepted from: 7.1 Competitors registered as members of the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) 7.2 Competitors from Scottish ASA (SASA) or Welsh ASA (WASA) and countries affiliated to FINA. All competitors must be Swim England Category 2 registered swimmers or equivalent if competing under 7.1 and 7.2 8. All Clubs must have a qualified Level 2 Synchronised Swimming Coach on the poolside. 9. Entries shall be submitted to Rushmoor Synchro through their email address together with the appropriate entry fees, no later than 13 th June at 12.00pm. Beacon Games and Rushmoor Open Competition Events and Entry requirements BEACON GAMES events include:. a) 12&U figures. b) 13-15 figures. c) 15-18 figures. d) Regional Beacon Programme and England Talent team routine displays RUSHMOOR OPEN events include:. e) 12&U figures. f) 13-15 figures. g) 15-18 figures
Entry Qualifications The Age Groups and qualifying grades shall be as outlined below: 1. Age as at midnight on the 31st December in the year of competition 2. Competitors to enter figures only. Swimmers may also take part in a Regional Beacon programme/ England Talent team display. 3. 9-12 year olds will have a minimum of Grade 1 for figures 4. 13-15 year olds will have a minimum of Grade 2 for figures 5. 15-18 year olds will have a minimum of Grade 3 for figures 6. Swimmers who are 15 years old may enter in either but not both the 13-15 age group OR 15-18 age group 7. Male swimmers may compete in all events. 8. Qualifying Grades must have been attained by the closing date for the competition. 9. Each age group shall perform the compulsory group plus one group drawn from the Figure List in Appendix 1. 10. The Order of appearance for figures will be randomly drawn. Swim wear FINA rules shall apply GR5.1 The swimwear (swimsuit, cap and goggles) of all competitors shall be in good moral taste and suitable for the individual sports disciplines and not to carry any symbol which may be considered offensive. GR5.2 All costumes shall be non-transparent GR5.4 The Referee of a competition has the authority to exclude any competitor(s) whose costume and/or body symbols do not comply with this rule. SS13.5.1 In the event that the referee thinks a competitor(s) swimwear does not conform to GR5 and SS13.5, the competitor(s) will not be permitted to compete until changing into appropriate swimwear.
Beacon Games and Rushmoor Open Competition Rules Figures All competitors must wear a one-piece plain black suit and plain white cap. Goggles and nose clips may be worn. Jewellery is not allowed. Nail varnish must be removed. Each age group shall perform the compulsory group plus one group drawn from groups as stated. The figures will be drawn on Thursday 12th July and communicated via email. Photography Anyone who is not an ASA Club member must apply to the organiser before the competition for permission to take photos.
